Thankful for my Stampin’ Sisters

When I joined Stampin’ Up! 4 years ago I never dreamed how much it would enrich my life. Stampin’ Up! is much more than a company with great papercrafting products. It is a community filled with amazing people with the biggest hearts. I am ever so grateful for the kindness and support from my “Stampin’ Sisters” following the loss of a dear friend. I have been busy making thank you cards this weekend.

Stampin Up Painted Harvest Thank You card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

This clean and simple card is made with some of my favorite things. I absolutely love the Painted Harvest Bundle in the Holiday Catalog!  The good news is the Painted Harvest stamp set and leaf punch will carry over after the holiday catalog retires on January 2nd.  However, you will no longer be able to purchase it as a bundle (and save 10%) after Jan. 2nd! (If you don’t already own this set, you can save even more by purchasing it tomorrow during the 24 hours of Free shipping!)

The base of my card is my favorite go to for thank you cards, Stampin’ Up! Note Cards and Envelopes! Biggest bang for your buck (20 note cards & envelopes for $6)! I embossed the envelope flap and very vanilla layer on my card with the Layered Leaves embossing folder (another one of my favorite items). I adhered the burlap ribbon with a strip of Tear & Tape and punched two leaves from Old Olive cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, punched out with the Pretty Label Punch, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Quick & easy with a little added texture!

Here are some beautiful flowers, cards, and gifts I received from team members and friends.

I am so blessed and thankful. This thing we do…creating cards and gifts…makes a difference! It’s so much more than I ever imagined! Our cards bring comfort and joy to the lives of others. I hope you find some time today to create. And if you ever want to become part of the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator community, I would love to welcome you to join this amazing team. I love fruit!  It’s right up there with my other favorites, ice cream and chocolate! I received this delicious Edible Arrangement from my coworkers.

Here’s my quick & simple thank you note using the Fresh Fruit Designer Series Paper.

I used a Whisper White Note Card…my favorite go to for thank you notes. The 1/2 doily was left on my desk from yesterday’s projects so I just adhered that on the left of the note card. The strawberry print DSP measures 2 1/4 x 5.  I cut a 1/4″ strip of Garden Green cardstock and adhered that next to my DSP. I stamped the sentiment from Tin of Cards Stamp Set using Real Red Ink.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and adhered it to a Real Red scallop circle cut from the Layering Circles Framelits.  I “fussy cut” a strawberry from the DSP and attached it with a glue dot and popped up the sentiment layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I found a bag with strawberry wrapped candy at CVS and put those in a bowl in the teachers lounge along with the card.

Yesterday was my first day back to work.  It was great to see my sweet students. They had all kinds of news and stories they couldn’t wait to share. Their smiling faces is the best medicine!  I am thankful I only teach mornings…I came home and took a 3 hour nap! When my own kids were in school my motto was, “12-3 is All About Me!” I would try to get all my errands done before they got home from school and I turned in to “Taxi Mom”. Nowadays it feels like 12-3 is nap time for me! LOL

I really like how this note card turned out! You really get a lot of bang for your buck with the Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes.  You get 20 cards and envelopes for $6.00. That’s just 30 cents each! Think of all the smiles you could make happen with a simple “just because” card.  I went out to dinner last night with some of my friends and we were discussing “Fat Tuesday” and Lent and tossing out ideas for what we could do during this time.  It just occurred to me that one of the things I can do is share more handmade kindness.  So, I am going to commit to send out 40 cards in 40 days. I think I will write my message on a sticky note and include an extra envelope so the recipient can choose to keep the card or “pay it forward” and send it to someone else. I can easily change out the sentiment on today’s card and even make the layered circles larger if needed.  This is one of those “formula” cards I will use again and again with other DSP.  Go give it a try!

You can order any of the supplies used on today’s card from my online store.  Click HERE to shop!

Have a wonderful day!

J is for Jeanie’s Choice

Welcome to the ABC’s with DSP!  This month I am featuring projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. We do not have any DSP that begins with J so I decided I would go with my choice.  Today I am showcasing one I haven’t used in awhile….Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. This is one of the DSP packs that is part of the Stampin’ Up! special this month.

If you follow my blog you know that my daughter is the one who urged me to start this blog because she was going away to college and thought I needed something to keep me busy so I wouldn’t miss her so much. As much as I enjoy blogging and interacting with so many of you, I still miss her!  You could say, “I’ve Got Georgia On My Mind”.  So I pulled out this peachy DSP and made this card!

This sentiment says it all and it will be headed to Georgia along with a few goodies. I CASEd this design from Sam Donald and made a whole set of thank you note cards for my daughter who needed some.  I thought it would be fun for her to send some peachy thank you’s coming from Georgia. I absolutely love the Stampin’ Up! note cards.  They are the perfect size for thank you notes and you get 20 note cards and envelopes in a pack for $6.00. The DSP is cut at 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and layered on a 3 inch square of Pear Pizzazz. I cut the sentiment using the Layering Circles Framelits and added a few enamel shapes. I love to use DSP to make matching envelopes.

Here’s some ideas from the catalog using the fresh fruit and flower designs from the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper and the Fresh Fruit Stamp Set.

A couple of weeks ago we flew to Georgia for Family Weekend and had such a wonderful time!  It was great to see Ariane and I could tell that she is where she belongs.  She’s happy and thriving in her new environment.  🙂 Here’s a few photos from our fun weekend!
