N is for Note

Welcome to my ABC Card Series! Throughout this series I’ll be sharing a variety of cards for every occasion from A to Z! I love the Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes. These are the perfect size for a handwritten thank you card or to send a quick note to a friend.

Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes come in sets of 20 in Whisper White, Very Vanilla and the NEW Scalloped with dainty scalloped edges on the cards and matching envelopes. The new Scalloped set has 5 each of 4 colors (Balmy Blue, Old Olive, light pink, or Terracotta Tile).  These are adorable and the best part is they are super economical!

I have been on a roll making note cards and have lots of ideas to share with you today starting with my new favorite, the Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes.

Stampin'Up! A Little Lace Thinking of You Scalloped Note Card idea with Daisy punch - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Stampin'Up! A Little Lace Thank You Scalloped Note Card idea with Daisy punch - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I used A Little Lace Stamp Set and stamped the background image in Early Espresso. The new medium daisy punch is the same size as the flower image.  (I just love how Stampin’ Up! coordinates products!) I had fun with the daisy punch and cut some from white cardstock, colored cardstock, designer series paper, and also stamped some using the Daisy Lane stamp set. Here’s a look at each of the different cards.

I used the Brights and In Color 6×6 Designer Series Paper Packs to cut the strips I adhered along the bottom. I accented the daisies with the Gold Gems and In Color Faceted Dots.

I got the Delightful Day stamp set for free at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage convention. I couldn’t wait to make the cards shown on page 34 in the annual catalog using the Scalloped Note Cards. Look how cute these cards look with the stamped flowers.

The White Stampin’ Chalk Marker and colored markers add a beautiful finishing touch! My daughter didn’t think they needed the strip of DSP at the bottom but I like how it highlights the scalloped edges.

One thing I like to do when I see a card I like is try to create something similar using different stamp sets and paper I have. Here’s another version of the cards above using a stamp set you won’t find in the annual catalog, Celebrate with Cake.

The hearts and flowers are from the Celebrate with Cake Stamp Set found in the Beginner Brochure. (Click on the link in the sidebar or at the bottom to view the brochure.) I used the Well Written Dies for the sentiments.

D is for Dutch Door Fun Fold

Welcome to my ABC’s with Fun Folds series.  Today’s card is a Dutch Door Design. It is so much fun to make and uses very little supplies.

img_2190

img_2189

To make this fun fold start with a piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardstock and score it at 4 1/4.  Don’t fold along the score line just yet as you will want to cut first.  Lay your paper in the paper trimmer at the halfway mark, 2 3/4″.  Cut from the end in to the score line then rotate the paper and cut up to the cut line. You are removing the top portion of your card front.

I used the piece I removed to cut out the Star Blast Edgelits Die (retiring).  I stamped a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White cardstock using the Birthday Blast Stamp Set (retiring) and Flirty Flamingo ink. I attached this to the inside of my card.  Next I adhered the star blast die cut to the front of my card making sure to line it up over my stamped stars. I cut a piece of 2 1/2 x 4 Flirty Flamingo DSP from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring) and adhered that to my card front on top of the die.  I stamped my banner on a piece of 1 1/4 x 4 whisper white then punched the end with the Triple Banner Punch and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The only thing left to do was decorate the envelope to match.

Stamp Set: Birthday Blast(142866)  Ink: Flirty Flamingo  Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White, 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack  Tools & Accessories: Star Blast Edgelits Dies (142763), Triple Banner Punch (138292), Stampin’ Dimensionals

You could easily use this card for graduation, anniversary, retirement, good grades, etc. in addition to birthday like I did.  I love this stamp set and dies and am sad to see it retiring next month.  It is  fun and versatile.  You could cut out the Large Number dies to put on the front to use for a graduation card. The Stamp Set and Dies are still available.  The dies are only available while supplies last. Click HERE and HERE to see more fun projects I did with this stamp set and die. *The die is on sale for 30% off.  Reg. $20/Sale $14.

Have a Delightful Day!

Saying Good-Bye…Part 1

It’s hard to say good-bye to some of my favorite items from the current catalogs.  Here’s a list of 5 of my favorite (non stamp) items that are on the retiring list…

  1. The Designer Series Paper Stacks

This was probably the biggest shock to me!  I love the DSP in the In Colors and different color families (Brights, Regals, Neutrals, Subtles).  While I never mind when they change up the designs, I can not believe they are being retired.  I use these all the time (decorating envelope flaps, making bags and 3 D projects, card fronts, etc.)! As of today, the Brights, Neutrals, and In Color DSP Stacks are still available.  Get them while you can!

Favorites - DSP

Here’s a set of cards I made using the In Color DSP.  Click on the image to see the original post.
