Happy first Thursday of the month and welcome to a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I needed a sympathy card this week. While these are never my favorite cards to make, I wanted it to be special. The Tic Tac Toe Challenge board provided just the inspiration I needed.
The center square caught my attention. Scoring is a simple technique that adds a subtle elegance. I created Tic Tac Toe going straight down the middle with Patterned Paper, Scoring, Circle. Here’s my card.
I used the gorgeous Graceful Greenery Vellum and the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Papers with the Golden Greenery Dies for the focal point of my card. These items are new online exclusives from Stampin’ Up! These papers are perfect for holiday cards and gift tags, but the timeless designs work for year-round projects, too. I love that the Golden Greenery Dies work with the stamp set and specialty designer series papers. I cut my greenery from the DSP. You can view the complete list of products used to create this card below. Here’s the details:
Stamps: Something Fancy, Quiet Reflections, So Sincere
Papers: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, Graceful Greenery Vellum
Ink: Old Olive Stampin’ Pad
Tools & Accessories: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Trimmer, Golden Greenery Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Bough Punch, Gold Satin Edge Ribbon, Gold Glimmer Enamel Dots, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Adhesive
Measurements:
Card base (Very Vanilla): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4
Old Olive: Cut 2 @ 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, scrap to punch 2 leaves with Bough Punch
Very Vanilla: Cut 2 @ 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 score @ 1/4 and 3/8 from edge on all four sides, scrap to stamp and die cut sentiment
Directions:
- Fold and burnish card base.
- Score both Very Vanilla layers according to measurements above. *You can use either the Paper Trimmer or Score Board; however, you get a deeper score with the Score Board (shown on left).
- Adhere Very Vanilla layer to Old Olive layer with adhesive of your choice.
- Die cut greenery from Specialty Designer Series Papers using Golden Greenery Dies. Adhere greenery and punched leaves to Very Vanilla layer with Mini Glue Dots.
- Stamp sentiment in Old Olive ink and cut with Stylish Shapes Die. Add a strip of ribbon on the back of the die cut and adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Adhere layers to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Embellish with Gold Glimmer Enamel Circle Dots.
- Stamp inside sentiment on very vanilla scored layer and adhere to old olive layer. Adhere inside card.
- Optional: Score envelope on all four sides same as very vanilla layers. (Unfortunately it’s hard to see it in the photo.)
