The wishing well reminds me of my childhood.  We had a wishing well in the middle of our side lawn and it served as second base for many kickball and softball games. I remember tossing pennies in the well and making a wish! Here’s a photo of me standing by our wishing well when I was 5.

I couldn’t resist using a penny to hold my card “upright”.  Here’s the details how to make this unique fun fold.

My card base is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.  The DSP is from Delightful Daisy. My pieces measure 4 x 5 1/4 and 4 x 2 1/2.  The stamped panel is 3 x 4 layered with 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Basic Black.

I liked it in the black and white but then decided to color it using the watercolor pencils and blender pen.

Which way do you like it…black & white or colored?

Here’s the side view.

This really is quick & easy to make. Just make sure when adhering your stamped panel you only put adhesive on the bottom half.  I attached the penny with a Stampin’ Dimensional to hold the card upright. You could easily stamp a sentiment and pop it up to hold your panel.  I chose to stamp my sentiment on the back for this card.

I really like the sentiments in this set…the different choices make it versatile for many occasions.

Fun Fold Happy Mail

I interrupt my regularly scheduled post to bring you some happy mail. When I came home last night from my book club meeting there was a package sitting on the counter for me. (Both my husband and I are terrible about remembering to get the mail!) One look at the envelope and I couldn’t wait to open it!

img_2607

Cute, right? When I opened it, I was amazed to find this gorgeous purse!! Daisies, my favorite! There was a note enclosed and I can’t tell you how much it touched my heart.  It was from a blog reader, Kathy Royce. She saw this on Splitcoast Stampers and said she had to make one especially for me.  She thought it was perfect timing because I was doing this fun fold series.  Oh my Gosh!!!  I am so blessed!

img_2608

The clutch purse was designed by Dee Slater and you can bet I will be checking out Splitcoast Stampers for directions to CASE it too! (Kathy, if you are reading this, post the link in the comments or email me and I will update with the link.)

It gets even better….when I opened it there were 4 gorgeous note cards enclosed!  WOW! What an exciting surprise!

I is for Interlocking Fun Fold

Welcome to my ABC’s with Fun Folds series.  Today I am showcasing an Interlocking Gate Fold. This is one of the many variations to the Gate Fold cards I shared for the letter G.  (If you missed that post you can see it HERE.)  I adore daisies and can’t seem to get enough of the new Delightful Daisy Suite (available June 1st). The Designer Series Paper in this suite goes with so many different colors.  Here I paired it with Wisteria Wonder.

img_2439

My daughter was going to bed as I was going downstairs to create this card. (I am a night owl and seem to be more creative in the evening.)  She asked what color card I was going to make today and I said I didn’t know yet. Her favorite color is purple so of course she said, “Purple always looks nice”.  So purple it is!

The real treat to this card is how it opens.

Stampin up fun fold card idea using Daisy Delight stamp set and Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper -Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Here’s how to make this fun fold interlocking card…

Start with a piece of  4 1/4 x 11 piece of cardstock and score it at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4.  Fold on the score lines and adhere 2 pieces of 2 1/2 x 4 Designer Series Paper.  (I love this Delightful Daisy DSP!!!)

img_2437

Die cut two layering shapes ( I used squares but you could use any layering dies) making sure one is about 1/4″ larger than the other.  I also cut a piece of DSP from the inside square and adhered that to the cardstock.

Adhere the scalloped square shape on the left gate flap making sure to just put adhesive on the half that attaches.  Adhere the right half of DSP square to the right gate flap.

I stamped the daisy twice on Shimmery Whisper White cardstock then blended the color a bit while it was still wet to give it the same washed look that is in the DSP.  I punched both out with the Daisy Punch and adhered them together with a glue dot.  I curled the ends of the daisy with my bone folder then attached the daisy to the center square with a glue dot.  I also stamped the inside of the card and the envelope with the daisy stamp but left the inside of the card blank.  This card could be used for just about anything and by leaving it blank for now I will be ready for any occasion.  All I have to do is stamp a sentiment inside and send!
