Sunday Showcase…Vertizontal Pocket Cards from Mystery Stampin’

Welcome to my Sunday Showcase where I share the fun fold cards from my stamping friends. These “vertizontal” pocket cards were made by following my Mystery Monday Stampin‘ clues. The “Vertizontal” Pocket Card is a vertical square pocket card plus a horizontal layer. This unique pocket card design is perfect for giving gift cards, cash, or even teabags.

I would love to have you join me for this week’s Mystery Monday Stampin’! It’s really fun and easy. I give you step by step clues to create a fun fold card. (*This week’s fun fold card is AMAZING!!!!) The best part is you USE WHAT YOU HAVE to create a handmade card! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stamper, this is a creative way to kick off your week with stamping fun. You do not need a specific stamp set or paper. You already have what you love, so use it! You will find the first clue (the supplies and measurements) for this week’s challenge below.

CLUE #1 -Gather your supplies to be ready to play Mystery Monday Stampin’

  • Cardstock- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • Designer Series Paper – 2 @ 2 x 5 1/4 (H), 4 @ 3/4 x 1 3/4 (L),
    extra for envelope (optional)
  • Designer Series Paper- (*same or coordinating pattern)- 2 @ 2 x 5 1/4 (H),
    4 @ 3/4 x 1 3/4 (L)
  • Embossed Panels (or DSP)- 2 @ 3/4 x 3 1/4 (H), 1 3/4 x 3 1/4 (H)
  • Basic White/Neutral Cardstock- for stamping
  • Pieces for focal layer
  • Envelope
  • Ink
  • Stamps
  • Adhesive
  • Embellishments- ribbon, adhesive dots or gems/sequins (*optional)
  • Tools – Trimmer/Score Board, Bone Folder
  • *Optional – coloring tools, embossing folder, die cut/punch, Cut & Emboss Machine

Welcome back for another Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! This week’s card is so unique! I’ve never made this version before and I bet you haven’t either! Trust me, it’s so cool! It is something you are going to want to make for holidays, birthdays, weddings, graduations, new babies, thank you, etc. (Basically any occasion! LOL)

One of the wonderful things I love about mystery stamping is you use what you have! Are you ready to choose your creative adventure and solve this week’s mystery? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and see what your finished card looks like at the end — it’s always a fun surprise!

Yesterday I shared your first clue. If you missed that post (with the list of supplies), Click HERE for Clue #1

Now that you have your cardstock, designer series paper, and other supplies, it’s time to create! Simply follow the clues step by step to create a beautiful card. Feel free to add your own twist…there is no right or wrong way to do Mystery Monday Stampin’! Here are the rest of the clues:

CLUE #2
Score the 4 1/4 x 10 cardstock along the 10″ side @ 1 1/2 and 5 3/4. Fold and burnish along the score lines creating a square card with a pocket on the inside. *The 1-1/2” score line will create the pocket on the bottom.

CLUE #3
Adhere the 1 1/8 x 4 piece of DSP along the right edge of the 4 3/16 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock leaving an equal border on the top, bottom, and right side.

CLUE #4
Adhere the 4 3/16 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock inside the 4 1/4 x 10 piece of cardstock in the middle section. Align the left edge of the cardstock with the inside of the square card. It will stick out on the right side 1 1/2″.

CLUE #5
Create the inside pocket by adhering the right and left edge of the pocket to the inside layer. Use Tear & Tape or Multipurpose Liquid glue for best results.

CLUE #6
Adhere the 1 1/4 x 4 DSP strip to the front of the pocket.
Adhere the 2 1/2 x 4 White layer above the pocket. Slide a gift card in the pocket. Stamp inside sentiment above the gift card.

CLUE #7
Layer the 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 DSP to the 4 x 4 cardstock layer and attach to the front of the card. If you choose a white layer (instead of DSP) stamp first, then layer.
* Feel free to change the measurements of the layers to meet your needs.

CLUE #8
Stamp/Punch/Die Cut sentiment and/or image to create a focal piece. Attach to the card front.

CLUE #9
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments? Trim/Ribbon? Add that now.

CLUE #10
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.

Welcome back for another Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! This week’s mystery card is super simple & quick! (You’ll want to make several!!!) It is an easy fun fold to create that is actually a combination of two fun folds rolled into one! (I love these hybrid fun folds!)

If you’re new around here, Mystery Monday Stampin’ is all about No Stress! One of the wonderful things I love about mystery stamping is you use what you have! Each project is designed to be easy for beginners yet inspiring for seasoned stampers. I provide simple to follow clues. If a clue inspires a new idea, follow it! Every card should reflect your creativity. It’s ok (even encouraged) to Just Go Rogue!

Are you ready to choose your creative adventure and solve this week’s mystery? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and see what you can create. It’s always a fun surprise and you’ll walk away with a finished card, new ideas, and a big smile!

Now that you have your cardstock, designer series paper, and other supplies, it’s time to create! Simply follow the clues step by step to create a beautiful card. Feel free to add your own twist…there is no right or wrong way to do Mystery Monday Stampin’! Here are the rest of the clues:

*This week’s card will be a vertical/portrait style card.

CLUE #2
*You will see both sides of your Designer Series Paper so make sure both sides coordinate. Score 5 1/2” x 12 ” Designer Series Paper along the long side @ 2 1/4, 5 1/2, and 9 3/4.

CLUE #3
Fold and burnish as though you are making a Z Fold card. Fold in half at 5 1/2 then fold the 2 1/4 score line back on itself. Open the card and fold the last score line inside of the card. In other words…the last score line folds in first then the front folds over on top then fold back the 2 1/4 score line (like Z fold). When folded your card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (H). You will see one pattern showcased in the center of your card with 1″ of the other pattern showing on each side.

CLUE #4
Stamp & adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 white/neutral cardstock on the inside of the card. *Make sure to open the inside flap to adhere this piece then fold it over so it inside layer will be partially hidden.

CLUE #5
Create a focal piece for the front of your card. Stamp, punch, die cut, layer, etc.

CLUE #6
Center the focal layer on the card. Adhere only to the center piece so the card opens and stands for display.

CLUE #7
*Optional: You can add a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock to the back of the card if you want a sturdier card.(I think the DSP is fine and it stands on it’s own.)

CLUE #8
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments? A sentiment? Add that now.

CLUE #9
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.
