Mystery Monday Stampin’

Let's create a handmade card together- visit www.juststampin.com for clues and all the details-Jeanie Stark Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Welcome back for another Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! This week’s card is new to me. It caught my eye because the style is a unique version of the very first fun fold card I ever created. Sound mysterious?? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and solve this week’s mystery card!

Yesterday I shared your first clue. If you missed that post (with the list of supplies), Click HERE for Clue #1

Now that you have your cardstock, designer series paper, and other supplies, it’s time to create! Simply follow the clues step by step to create a beautiful fun fold card. Here are the rest of the clues:

CLUE #2
Score the 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock along the 11″ side @ 1 and 6 1/2. Fold and burnish both score lines in (mountain folds). *They will meet together on the front of the card. The 1″ fold is at the top of your card.

CLUE #3
Adhere a 4 x 4 1/4 piece of DSP or embossed cardstock to the front section (below the folded top section).

CLUE #4
Adhere a 3/4 x 4 DSP or embossed piece to the folded top section.

CLUE #5
Adhere a 1 1/2 x 5 piece of DSP or embossed cardstock to the 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 cardstock. Place two dimensionals on the back at the top. Adhere to the top of the front flap (on the right side) leaving an even border on the top and right side. *The bottom of the flap piece will be flush with the bottom of the card.

CLUE #6
Open the card and adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of embossed cardstock or DSP to the inside of the middle section (under the top folded section).

CLUE #7
Adhere the 3/4 x 4 piece of DSP or embossed cardstock to the 1 x 4 1/4 piece of cardstock. Place dimensionals on the back. Adhere this piece to the inside of the card approximately 1″ from the bottom edge. *This will create an easel stand for the flap to rest when standing for display.

CLUE #8
Create a focal point for your card by adding an image and/or sentiment layer to the side flap. Adhere focal point to the card flap with dimensionals. *Only add dimensionals on the right side of your focal piece so it will be centered on the card.

CLUE #9
Add the 4 x 5 1/4 basic white or neutral layer on the back of the card for a sentiment or personal message.

CLUE #10
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments? Trim/Ribbon? Add that now.

CLUE #11
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.

Have fun creating! There is no right or wrong way to do mystery stampin’! If you want to change it up a bit, that’s fine. I am always inspired when others “go rogue”! I can’t wait to see what you create! Take a photo of your card and send as an attachment to my email (j.stark@goeaston.net). Feel free to reach out if you need help or have questions.

Check back Wednesday this week to see my mystery cards revealed.
(I’m working hard to try and get my 12 Days of Christmas Kits finished and in the mail this week!)

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Showcase…Box Seat Fun Fold Cards from Mystery Stampin’

Welcome to my Sunday Showcase where I share the fun fold cards from my stamping friends. These Box Seat Fun Fold cards were made by following my Mystery Monday Stampin‘ clues. The box seat fun fold is a unique card with a huge WOW factor! It looks complicated; however, it is just a couple of extra score lines and then a simple cut between the score lines. The Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer makes these box seat fun fold cards easy to create!

This week’s card is new to me and extra special! Today is my daughter’s birthday and this week’s card is the one I made for her. I love to coordinate my cards and gifts whenever possible and when I saw the name of this fun fold card I knew I had to make it for her.

*Do not be intimidated by the extra cutting and scoring! It is not hard!!
Just take it one step at a time and follow the clues. It is so worth it!

CLUE #2
Score the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardstock along the 8 1/2″ side @ 2 1/4 and 6 1/4.

CLUE #3
Place the cardstock in the trimmer with the 5 1/2″ edge at the top. You are going to cut between the score lines. Line up the left edge on the 1″ mark. Cut from the first score line (@ 2 1/4″) to the second score line (@ the 6 1/4″ mark) and stop.

CLUE #4
Rotate the cardstock so that the opposite 5 1/2″ end is now at the top of the trimmer and repeat clue #3 cutting from the first score line to the second.

CLUE #5
Place the 8 1/2″ side at the top of the trimmer and score @ 4 1/4 just to the cut line and stop. Rotate the cardstock so the opposite 8 1/2″ side is at the top and score @ 4 1/4″ just to the cut line and stop.

CLUE #6
With the 8 1/2″ edge at the top, line up the left edge with the 3 1/4″ mark on the paper trimmer. SCORE from just below the top cut line down to just above the bottom cut line and stop.
*You are scoring between the cut lines in the middle section of the card.

CLUE #7
With the 8 1/2″ edge at the top, slide the left edge of the cardstock to the 5 1/4″ mark. SCORE again from the top cut line to the bottom cut line and stop.

CLUE #8
Crease on all the score lines. To display, the sides fold slightly back, the top and bottom middle sections crease back, and the center of the card pops forward. To close the card, fold the side panels to the back of the card. *They will slightly overlap one another.

CLUE #9
Decorate your card. Add the DSP panels to the sides, top, and bottom sections on the front and back of your card. Add the embossed panels to the center of the card on the front. Create a focal point in the center of your card by adding an image and/or sentiment layer.

CLUE #10
Add a basic white or neutral layer on the back of the card (along the side panels) for a sentiment or personal message. Option: You could add your sentiment on the back in the middle section that is set back.

CLUE #11
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments? Trim/Ribbon? Add that now.

CLUE #12
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.

Have fun creating! I can’t wait to see what you create! Take a photo of your card and send as an attachment to my email (j.stark@goeaston.net). Feel free to reach out if you need help or have questions.
