P is for Peace on Earth with Pretty Pines and Paper Pumpkin

Welcome to my Holiday ABC series.  Today I am “shaking it up” for P! I used my Paper Pumpkin Pining for Plaid kit  (October 2017) with the Pretty Pines Thinlits and Carols of Christmas Bundle to make this “Peaceful” Christmas card . If you missed out on last month’s kit, don’t worry as you can still create this fun shaker card with products in the Stampin’ Up catalog. I like to make and share alternative ideas with my Paper Pumpkin subscribers and this card is just one example of how you can change it up a bit to make it your own.

My card base is from Paper Pumpkin; however, you can cut a piece of the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper for the front of your card. I love the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set and have used it a lot to create cards and boxes for the holidays. The Peace on Earth sentiment fit perfectly in the precut card front in the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love how my Paper Pumpkin saves me time! You always have the choice of turning over the prestamped image and stamping your own sentiment on the back or cut a piece of 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Whisper White to stamp an image or sentiment and another piece 4 x 5 1/4 to cut the circle using the Layering Circles Framelits. The window sheets, dimensionals, and sequins were included in the kit but you can order any of these items from my Stampin Up store. To assemble you attach the window sheet with glue dots to the back of the circle cut out.  Then add the dimensionals around the circle and fill with some sequins.  Remove the backing from the dimensionals and adhere the sentiment so it faces the front.

Then just add dimensionals to the top and bottom and adhere to the card base.

I added the pine branches from the Pretty Pines Thinlits and the trees and deer from the Card Front Builder Dies.  You can purchase the Card Front Builder Dies with the Carols of Christmas stamp set and save 10% on the bundle!

I love the matching envelopes in the Paper Pumpkin kit.  You can always cut the Merry Little Christmas DSP and add to the flap on the back of your envelope to tie it all together if you don’t have the kit.

I am so excited that the November Paper Pumpkin kit is designed to coordinate with the cards in October’s kit.  We’ve been told it is a “gifting project”.  I love having cards and gifts to match; however, you don’t have to have the card kit to make the projects in the November kit.  They can stand alone or be used together. If you want to get that handmade holiday touch without the fuss sign up by Friday, November 10th to get the November Paper Pumpkin kit.  Click HERE to sign up.

J is for Joy

Welcome to my Holiday ABC series! J is for Joy and today’s card brings me that! Yesterday I shared highlights from my weekend away with some of my fellow demonstrator friends.  I am still smiling from all the fun we had.  One thing we like to do when we get together is a shoe box swap.  We each design a card to share and put everything needed to make it in a shoe box. Then everyone makes each others card.  This card was designed by Rosanne Mulhern (Heartfelt Stamping). I had so much fun making it.

Stampin Up Perfect Pines and Large Letters Framelits Christmas card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I love the Large Letters Framelits dies! I admit they are a bit of an investment but once I bought them I have used them for so many cards and projects!  They are great for personalizing or monogramming cards, tags, or gift bags. I used them for an accordion fold card I shared previously that I made for Mother’s Day. (You can see that project HERE.)

Today’s card features a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Cherry Cobbler card base which is scored at 4 1/4.  The next layer measures 4 x 5 1/4 and is stamped with the Woodgrain Stamp in Crumb Cake ink. JOY is cut from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper and could be added to the Basic Black layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals; however, for this card it is layered on top of craft foam that was also cut with the Large Letters Framelits and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The pines were cut from Old Olive cardstock using the Pretty Pines Thinlits and adhered with glue dots.

The inside sentiment is from Snowflake Sentiments and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.  The layer of DSP and black cardstock adds the finishing touch to tie it all together.

Black  may not be a traditional color for Christmas but it sure looks striking with the Cherry Cobbler and Christmas pines. I love it! Here’s a photo of Rosanne with her card from our stamping weekend.

Painted Harvest Joy

Stampin Up Painted Harvest Christmas Joy Card Idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp For inspiration and supplies visit www.juststampin.com

Oh how I love the Painted Harvest Stamp Set!  I am always looking for versatility in a stamp set and this one brings me “Joy”! I used the sunflower stamp as a wreath for this clean & simple Christmas card.

This card layout is one you can use over and over. Just change the DSP and stamp any sentiment on the panel. I used the Large Letter Framelits to cut out the letters in Real Red cardstock. These framelits are a bit pricey but I am so glad I made the investment. They are perfect for monogrammed cards. I use them a lot to personalize cards and gifts.

I stamped the 2 step wreath in Garden Green ink and added the berries in Real Red. The slim 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon makes a pretty bow. The stamped panel is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love the plaid DSP from the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper. There are many fun prints in this paper pack.

It’s time to start thinking about your Christmas cards. This is one you could easily mass produce to send. It’s quick & easy to make! My Whisper White panel measures 3 x 4 1/4 and the Real Red layer is 1/8″ larger (3 1/8 x 4 3/8).
