Hello Stampers! My husband and I have been away the past two weeks on a road trip visiting friends and exploring new sights and adventures. I have missed being in my craft room and am ready to create! I have a new “Just Stampin’ Card Kit and 3D Project Buffet” for you. My “Kit Buffet TO GO!” is intended to make it easy for you to be able to see and try out different products while being able to substitute different stamps you already have. You just need to stamp and adhere.

Each tutorial will include full color photos and clear step by step instructions for creating 3 very different cards using these products. These tutorials are exclusive and will not appear on my blog. In addition, you will receive a handmade card from me along with a card kit to create it! I appreciate each and every order! You can click on the link to shop my online store!
I am so excited to share today’s projects!
The sample for the Gather Together Bundle on page 5 in the Holiday Catalog caught my eye and I knew I wanted to recreate it. Here’s the inspiration and my card side by side. I used the same stamp set but different color ink for my background. I layered mine with Gold Foil and added a strip of vellum.
Who knew the background was actually sponged using a mask?! Oh my, now I have another favorite technique! I have been having so much fun playing with the new Decorative Masks. They are found on page 35 in the Holiday Catalog and I missed them the first few times I browsed through the catalog. Take a look at these fun designs.
Stampin’ Up! Basic Pattern Decorative Masks
I used sponge daubers and 4 ink colors (Grapefruit Grove, Terracotta Tile, Crumb Cake, and Delicata Golden Glitz) to get the effect I wanted. It was so much fun! I did the envelope too!
I cut the leaves from the Gathered Leaves Dies from Grapefruit Grove, Crushed Curry, and Cajun Craze cardstock. I love how the dies cut and emboss at the same time! I sponged the leaves with the Delicata Golden Glitz Ink and popped them up with Dimensionals on top of the vellum strip and Gold Thread.
This is one of the cards everyone made at my monthly card club and the ladies loved it! This sentiment works for a Thanksgiving or thank you card. Of course you can easily change the sentiment and use it for birthday, get well, thinking of you, etc. I had the piece I used to demonstrate and not wanting to waste anything I decided to use it to decorate one of the new Gold Mini Pizza Boxes. Talk about easy! All I had to do was cut it to 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 and wrap the box with Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
I cut and sponged the leaves the same as I did for the card and punched a 2 1/4″ vellum circle. I added the gold thread to tie in with the card and now I have a coordinating gift box. Here’s what I put inside….
… leaf shaped wax melts! The best part….I found them at the Dollar Store! (Remember….It’s all about the presentation! LOL) I stamped the large leaf from the stamp set in gold and the sentiment is from the same set (Gathered Leaves) stamped in Cajun Craze. The perfect little gift for a hostess. It just so happens I will be needing this hostess gift for Sunday as I am going to a friend’s house to make “velvet” pumpkins. We were told to bring a glue gun, old tube socks or batting, and some fabric. I have no idea how to do this but it sounds like fun! Here’s another look at the card and gift.
So do you think you’d like to give this decorative mask project a try? If so, you are in luck because I am planning to provide this technique based “Decorative Masks Kit To Go” for my October kit! Here’s what the kit will include:
Stampin’ Up! Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (set of 4)
4 card kits (using the different masks)
Pre-cut supplies for all four cards. *Stamped images not included, in accordance with Stampin’ Up! policy.
Envelopes for each card
Punched items and/or die cuts and textured embossed
Ribbon and/or embellishments
Step-by-step photo tutorial to complete each card (sent via email)
Alternative technique ideas
The cost for this special product based technique kit is $20 (plus $3.50 shipping & handling).
You will be able to use the decorative masks again and again on future projects. You will need ink, sponge daubers (or sponges) and adhesive to complete the kit. You can adapt this kit to use inks you have. I will include a complete supply list for each sample included with the tutorial.
Orders need to be placed by October 10th. *This is a firm deadline so I can order the decorative masks and get them shipped out to you by the end of the month.
Here’s how to reserve your kit:
Email me (j.stark@myactv.net) with “Decorative Mask Kit” in the subject line. Make sure you include your address! Then send payment through PayPal. To do this, go to paypal.com, sign in or register for an account, click “Send” and fill in my email address. Click “next”, then “Send to a Friend,” fill in the amount ($23.50), and Continue. If you do not use PayPal, you may send me a check.
