Welcome Baby with Stitched Stars

My godson welcomed his first child just before the holidays. I couldn’t wait to meet him so a quick trip to Massachusetts was in order. I love to give books and it’s always fun to make a card to coordinate.

This is one of my favorite fun fold cards because it is so quick & easy to create! The challenge was I didn’t have any stamps with mice to go with the book. (How can that be???) I pulled an idea from my teaching days (and children’s author Leo Lionni) and created my own mouse with torn paper. It was fun and simple to do! I love being able to use what I have! The inside sentiment is not Stampin’ Up! but one I’ve had in my stash for years. It was perfect to go with this gift.

Here’s the details to make this fun fold:

Card Base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 *Cut 2 3/4″ from one end.
Basic White: 2 1/2 x 4 (front), 4 x 5 1/4 (inside)
Designer Series Paper: 2 1/2 x 4, 2 x 6 (envelope flap)
Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride scraps: Die cut Stitched Stars and create mouse from torn paper.

I hope this inspires you to create something fun with what you have. You can view the list of products I used below.

Here’s a few photos to make you smile. This sweet little bundle of joy is growing so fast!!!!

Many thanks for the warm welcome back and sweet comments on my blog the other day! Know that I have missed stamping and you too!!!! The random winner of “Just Saying Hello” is…. Dawne! Congratulations Dawne! Email me (j.stark@goeaston.net) your address and I will put your card in the mail.

Have a great day!
