My Favorite Holiday for the PALS Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals September 2017 Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month our theme is “My Favorite Holiday”.  Sit back and enjoy the view while the Pals treat you with projects for the upcoming Autumn and Winter holidays.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Stampin Up Spooky Night gift idea using Clear Acetate box, Pick a Pattern Washi Tape, and Spooky Night Designer Series Paper - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Every holiday is my favorite holiday! I decided to share a fun Halloween treat that is a great alternative to candy. So many kids nowadays have allergies so I thought this would be a different treat that also works as a fun game-to-go for the car. I love the acetate boxes in the holiday catalog and seem to be using them for more than just cards. (You can click HERE to see another project I made with these boxes.)

I used several different designs from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper for this project. There are so many fun patterns to choose from!

Coordinating Colors: Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla

I adhered a 4 3/8 x 5 3/4 piece of DSP inside the acetate box with glue dots. I made the tic tac toe board on top with Pick A Pattern Washi Tape. The cute cat and jack-o-lantern erasers came from the Dollar Tree.

I cut a 4 1/2 x 12 piece of DSP to make a belly band to wrap the gift. I cut and adhered (2) 1/2 x 12 strips of coordinating DSP to the top and bottom of the belly band and simply wrapped it around the box and adhered in the back. I cut circles in Very Vanilla and Black using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Circles Framelits. I punched the cat from the DSP using the cat punch. The jack-o-lantern is fussy cut from another piece of DSP. The bakers twine makes a nice cat collar and the Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon ties is all together for a nice presentation.

I adhered these to the circles cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Circles Framelits.

It’s easy to just slide the belly band off to open.  The game pieces store inside the acetate box and are ready to play wherever you go!

This Halloween treat will last a lot longer than candy! It is a simple and inexpensive little treat to give. You can easily adapt this for different holidays by simply changing the DSP and erasers.  It would make a great stocking gift for Christmas or use different colored hearts for Valentine’s Day for a “lovely” little gift. Think of the possibilities that could go “inside the box”.

Back to School with Coffee Break Suite

Today is the day teachers go back to school. It’s going to be a long day!!!  I am not a coffee drinker; however, many of my coworkers are, including my assistant. I made this little welcome back gift for her.

Coffee Cup Sticky Notepad and matching pen made with Stampin Up Coffee Break Designer Series Paper. For directions and more visit www.juststampin.com

I know she will get a kick out of this coffee cup sticky notepad. We have lists for everything (and then we lose the lists)! I found the sticky notepad at Walmart. The idea came from fellow demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske (DOstamping with Dawn).

The “coffee rings” print from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper was the perfect choice to decorate my little gift. (If you saw the paper “coaster” my assistant uses for her coffee cup you would agree! LOL) Here’s a look at the other patterns.

I used Dawn’s measurements to cut the DSP then changed it up a bit to decorate mine. Cut a 3/4″ x 8″ strip of wood grain pattern DSP and adhere it to the center of 2″ x 8″ piece of “coffee rings” DSP.  Wrap the DSP around the coffee cup sticky notepad and adhere together in the back. Next, I wrapped my ribbon around and tie a bow.  The sentiment from Watercolor Wings is stamped in Early Espresso ink and cut out with a banner framelit. I used some Linen Thread to tie it to the ribbon. Quick & easy gift!

I cut a 7/8″ x 3 1/2″ piece of the coffee bean print DSP to line the R.S.V.P. pen  These pens are easy to take apart.  Just roll the DSP around the pen barrel and insert inside. Love how it makes a matching gift set!

If you didn’t want to give a pen you could always add a treat instead.  I made another one and this time I added some coffee bean candy.  I was so excited to see the treat tubes in the Holiday catalog (on page 53)! These were in a former Paper Pumpkin kit and were a huge hit!!! I bought several refill kits and filled them with all kinds of goodies for Halloween, birthdays, Christmas, etc.  I can’t wait to start decorating and filling them again!

A Treat from the Sea

Treat Box using the Stampin Up Popcorn Box Thinlits, Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper, and the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. For directions and ordering visit my blog at www.juststampin.com

My daughter loves sea glass and really has an eye for finding these gems at the beach. She hit the jackpot this summer when we were in Massachusetts. (One day alone she found over 40 pieces!)

On our way home from Georgia we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for dinner. I am always on the lookout for different little candies and small gifts. This bag of candy caught my eye and I knew it would be the perfect little gift to send to my daughter.

I love to make little bags or boxes for gifts and the gem print from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper was perfect for my sea glass candy. I used the Popcorn Box Thinlits to make my treat holder.

I cut the die out 4 times…2 from Soft Sky cardstock, and 2 from the DSP.  I adhered the DSP to the cardstock using the bold tip end of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue before adhering my box together. I made a bow using the gorgeous Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and cut the gem from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. Check out this video to see how to put the popcorn box together!

As you could see in the video, you can make so many different boxes for so many occasions using the dies in this set. These dies are so versatile and make it quick & easy to create fun projects!
