Y is for Yummy in my Tummy

Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing the Yummy in My Tummy Stamp Set featured on page 16 in the Occasions catalog. The stamp set coordinates with the Layering Circles Framelits Dies.  You can create simple projects with your child to embellish treats for friends or classmates.  These candy treat bags look yummy!

Older kids may like a Rocher chocolate or EOS lip balm coming out of the monster tummy. I found this one on Pinterest. How cute would that be for a new”mom to be”!

Have you heard what else is Yummy? Yesterday I promised I would share with you information on my “Just Stampin’ Kit Buffet“!  I love to spoil my customers and they have been enjoying my card buffet kits and 3D projects at classes and/or when they place an online order. I love to send out card kits and/or 3D treats for online orders placed through me using the monthly hostess code. My card kit and treat “buffet” is filled with cards as well as boxes, bags, tags, or other 3D projects. Everything is pre-cut and ready to assemble.  Starting this month I am offering my “Just Stampin’ Card Kit and 3D Project Buffet” TO GO. The monthly “Kit Buffet” costs $10 (plus shipping).

Here’s how you can reserve your seat at the table (and enjoy the feast):

Option #1  Email me (j.stark@myactv.net) with “Just Stampin’ Kit Buffet” in the subject line. Include your full name, mailing address, and email address.  I will send you a PayPal invoice. Orders need to be placed by February 15th in order to be mailed out at the end of the month.

Option #2  Get your kit buffet for FREE when you place an order for $50 or more through my online store using the monthly hostess code (K3VM6YBW). Kits are usually shipped out after the last day of the month.

Just Stampin’ Buffet TO GO Kits include:

  • Pre-cut supplies for four projects (stamped images not included, in accordance with Stampin’ Up! policy)
  • Envelopes for non 3D projects
  • Pre-punched items and/or Big Shot items, such as die cuts and textured embossed
  • Ribbon and/or embellishments

Many people have commented that they would like to make certain projects but don’t have the die cuts, punches, embellishments, paper, etc. and can’t buy it all.  I get it!  My buffet kits are intended for you to be able to see and try out different products while being able to substitute different stamp sets.  Kits will include 3 cards and one 3D item. I will send you an email when your kit is shipped. It will include an attachment with the project samples, supplies, and directions. You can substitute different stamps and sentiments using what you have or copy my samples. The choice is up to you! Let’s face it, a buffet is intended to have something for everyone!  (I showcased a sneak peek at the 3D project yesterday.)  Here’s another teaser…Stampin’ Up! is coming out with 3 additional Sale-A-Bration products starting Feb. 21st.  Demonstrators were able to pre-order these items which included some new gorgeous Glimmer paper.  Mine is on the way and will be used for one of the cards in your kit this month.  Be the first to get your hands on some of this!

My Favorite Things and Blog Candy Winner!

Last week I created a little “quiz” for the letter Q in my alphabet series.  It was fun reading your responses and it was really hard to narrow down my favorites.  To be fair, I wrote down my answers before I posted the blog quiz.  I admit it seems like my favorites sometimes change daily as I usually fall in love with what I am presently using to create.  Though, for me to purchase and invest in something new,  it has to have my #1 requirement…versatility!   Here’s my answers to the quiz…

  1. What new item from the Occasions catalog was #1 on my list (had to have!)?

watercolor-pencils

Most of you got this one…the watercolor pencils.  I couldn’t contain my excitement at the Stampin’ Up! convention when I saw these and got to play with them!  I love to color and paint and have never considered myself all that great at it.  These watercolor pencils are so easy to use and they make everyone look like an artist!  🙂 There are thirteen pencils in Stampin’ Up! colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White.  Paired with Blender Pens or AquaPainters, they are perfect for watercoloring. Check out this video.

Click HERE or HERE to see some of my watercolor projects.

2. What is my favorite bundle in the Occasions catalog?

There are 14 new bundles in the Occasions catalog and I have purchased 10 of them! (I love that I can save 10% when purchasing Stampin’ Up! bundles.)  This is my favorite Stampin’ Up! catalog to date!  This was the toughest category for me to choose just 1 favorite as each has something special that I love.  I decided I needed to go with my first love… the one that I put on my demonstrator preorder, Dragonfly Dreams.

drangonfly-dreams-bundle

This set makes gorgeous stamped and cut out images and it fits the versatility test. I can use this set for anything…from note cards to birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, or thank you cards.  And it is fun to color with my watercolor pencils! I also love that I can make a quick & easy card that makes a statement! I really thought the fact that I made calendar cards with these would have been a hint…it’s something I am going to look at every day all year long! 🙂

3. What is my favorite Designer Series Paper in the Occasions catalog?

so-in-love-dsp

This category was tough as I love my DSP!  I think it is the different, blurred look of this paper that has me in love with Falling in Love Designer Series Paper. You really need to see it in person.  I wasn’t overly impressed with the catalog image but, when I saw it up close and personal, I had to buy it. Again, it goes back to versatility.  I have used this for many different occasion cards lately. (Click HERE or HERE or HERE to see several cards I’ve made using this paper.)

4. What is my favorite Suite in the Occasions catalog?

I kept going back and forth between my top 2 suites so I decided to go with a tie on this one because I love all the embellishments, etc. that goes with each of these suites. The Falling in Love Suite has the beautiful font (and sentiments for the inside), gorgeous lace doilies, metal embellishments, satin ribbon, and the Falling Petals Embossing folder (Click HERE to see a card I made using this embossing folder).

I make and need a lot of birthday cards and the Party Animal Suite has large fonts that I love and it is versatile to use for tags as well as masculine and kid cards. I love the party hat and balloon embellishments to add a special touch.  The Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies are so cool and make fun pop up and shaker cards! (Click HERE to see a card I made with this set. Be sure to check back to see a shaker card I made.)

5.What is my favorite Sale-A-Bration gift?

sab-card-tin

Another tough category to choose from…especially when they are all FREE!  I had to go with the Card Tin as I love to give cards as gifts and this makes a wonderful presentation!  I am using one as a perpetual birthday calendar and organizer for myself. (Click HERE to see my card tin and print a perpetual calendar for yourself or as a gift.)

Now that you know some of my favorites, what are yours?  Leave me a comment with your favorite new item (or items) from the Occasions or Sale-A-Bration catalog or both. I look forward to sharing more of these items with you.  Now for the winner with the highest score on the “quiz”… There was a tie…both Mary Ann and Jeannine had 4 out of 5 answers. Congratulations! I know I said I would use random.org to pick a winner if there was a tie but, I would rather send both of you a gift.  Email me your address (j.stark@myactv.net)  along with the Sale-A-Bration item you would like. (I will be placing my order January 31st.)  Thanks so much to all of you who played along. I love hearing from you and always appreciate you taking the time to comment.  You inspire me to keep sharing my projects! Check back tomorrow as I continue my alphabet series showcasing new products in the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs!

Have a wonderful day!

A Sneak Peek at the New Watercolor Pencils

Every year I say I’m going to get my Christmas cards done early and I always seem to end up racing around at the last minute to pull it together.  How about you…are you prepared in advance or last minute like me?

We always send a photo card and I like to combine my love of photography and stamping. In the past I have made an easel card I shared HERE and used Paper Pumpkin refill kits (see below for photo). This year my daughter put together this photo collage.  My husband likes to add a personal message on some of his so this is what I came up with at the last minute.

img_7822
Add a personal touch to a photo card with Stampin’ Up! products
img_7824
Open the flap for more photos and space for a personal message.

The photo card measures 4 x 8 so I cut my cardstock 4 1/8 x 10 5/8 and scored it at 8 1/8. I added a layer of black cardstock on the front flap to tie in the colors from the card. I used the oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits with the Holly Berry Stamp Set and new watercolor pencils (available January 4th in the new occasions catalog) to embellish the front flap on my card. I am in love with these watercolor pencils!!!  You will want to put them on your MUST HAVE list!!! They make it so quick and easy to create a work or art.  I simply colored with the old olive pencil then brushed over it with my blender pen. Check out these before and after pictures.

Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up! highlighting how to create with these new watercolor pencils using different paper with the aqua painter or blender pen.

I used classic ink (rather than the archival) with the blender pen and had no problem with the ink bleeding. You can use cardstock with the blender pen but you need to use watercolor paper or shimmer paper when you use the aqua painter. I added some red pearls leftover from a past paper pumpkin kit for berries.  You can make your own using a red sharpie marker to color Pearl Basic Jewels or Rhinestones.  I used red ribbon to make a bow and attached it with a mini glue dot. I popped up the stitched layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals and stamped my envelope to match.

There were also photo ops and lots of display boards showcasing the new product and ideas. As I walked around each corner I said, “WOW!” again and again!

My suitcase was packed full going home with all the swaps, new product gifts, and prizes. I actually had to ship some of my clothes home as I wasn’t leaving my new stamp sets behind! LOL

Our team, the PALS, gathered for a pizza social after the event. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and congratulate our fearless leader, Mary Fish, who was named the TOP Demonstrator in the WORLD! WOW!!!  I love this picture with my uplines. I am surrounded by greatness!
