Today I’m showcasing my first Christmas card of the season using one of my favorite Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog, Flowers For Every Season.
I really like this color combination of Just Jade, Poppy Parade, and Flirty Flamingo. What do you think, Christmas colors or not?
There’s a couple of sneak peeks on my card today. The sentiment is from a returning favorite from last year’s Holiday Catalog, Christmas Gleaming. It was definitely one of my favorite stamps and I’m so glad it’s back! It will be available (starting Aug. 4th) along with the coordinating Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack.
I love ribbon and add it to most projects. The ribbon on my card is from All The Trimmings Ribbon Combo Pack and is gold-trimmed for some added sparkle.
Let’s get to the details…
Measurements
- Card Base (Thick Whisper White): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
- Whisper White: 4 x 5 1/4 to layer DSP on, 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 to layer floral DSP, 2 x 3 to punch label, 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip, scrap to stamp sentiment
- DSP (Flowers For Every Season): 2 x 5 1/4, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 (floral), leftover scrap to punch floral image, 1/2 x 6 and 1 x 6 strips for envelope flap.
- DSP (Brights 6 x 6 Flirty Flamingo ): 2 x 5 1/4, 3/4 x 6 strip for envelope flap.
- Just Jade: scrap to cut scalloped circle
- Ribbon : 6″
Directions
- Fold and crease the the card base.
- Adhere DSP strips to Whisper White panel. Adhere white strip in the middle.
- Adhere floral DSP to Whisper White layer and adhere to DSP layer.
- Punch 2 x 3 Whisper White piece with Tailored Tag Punch. Use 1/8″ hole punch to punch holes on each end. Thread ribbon through holes and secure ribbon on the back with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Wrap around DSP panel and secure on the back. Adhere DSP layer to the card base.
- Use layering Circles Dies to cut floral image from DSP and Just Jade Scalloped Circle. Adhere pieces together and adhere to card with Stampin Dimensionals.
- Stamp sentiment on Whisper White with Poppy Parade. Fussy cut and adhere to card.
- Decorate the envelope flap to coordinate with DSP strips. Trim to fit.
I love coordinating envelopes with my cards! I got this envelope idea from my super creative and talented friend, Rosanne Mulhern (heartfeltstamping.com). She decorated her envelope like this using coordinating DSP strips and I couldn’t wait to try it! This seemed like the perfect card to mirror the layers on my envelope.
