N is for Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes

Welcome back to my ABC “Sale-A-Bration” Series! This series showcases products from the 2018 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures. Today I’m showcasing the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes found on page 19 in the Occasions Catalog.  These are easy to overlook but you don’t want to miss out on these little gems!  I have been on a roll making a bunch of these note cards. They are small and narrow and perfect for little notes to put in your child’s lunchbox, husband’s briefcase, or to give with homemade baked goods to a friend or neighbor.

My husband does most of the cooking in our house but I enjoying baking.  A few of my favorites are homemade strawberry bread, apple bread, and banana nut bread. Many friends brought us meals during my recovery and I thought I would bake some breads to show my appreciation. The Tutti-frutti 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper is perfect for these adorable thank you cards to go with my loaves of bread.  The 2 1/4″ Circle Punch makes a quick envelope liner to coordinate with the card!

The sentiment from the Fruit Basket Stamp Set is perfect for the inside. There’s still plenty of room to add a personal message.

I also made some note cards to tuck in with customer orders. The leaves on the thank you stamp from A Good Day coordinates nicely with Petal Garden Designer Series Paper. I colored the leaves with my Old Olive Stampin’ Blend.

You get 20 Thick Whisper White cards and 20 envelopes for just $8.  They are really quick & easy to decorate. You can get 4 card fronts from just 1 piece of 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper! Stampin’ Up!’s CEO, Sara Douglas, did a Facebook Live video showcasing a quick & easy way to cut 6 x 6 DSP to get 4 card fronts! You can Click Here to see her video. I stepped mine up a little with a layer of coordinating cardstock measuring 2 1/4 x 4 1/4. I added some ribbon and then stamped and punched the sentiment using the new 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch from the Occasions catalog. I popped up the sentiment layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like to challenge myself to use every little piece of DSP and so I used the leftover 2 x 2 piece to make this Easter card.

I cut the leftover piece of DSP in half so I had two 1″ x 2″ pieces.  I added a 2″ x 2″ piece of Whisper White which I used to stamp the bunny from A Good Day Stamp Set and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I added Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon above and below the white piece. This little bunny is so cute! I added a little color with Stampin’ Blends.

My last card is a sweet treat holder for St. Patrick’s Day.

I found these chocolates at our local “Candy Kitchen” Shop. They have delicious homemade chocolates! I used some retired Emerald Envy DSP and punched a circle through the top layers using the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch.  I adhered the candy with a glue dot on the inside. The sentiment on the front is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the inside sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set.

I hope you enjoyed this parade of nine note cards today. Do you have a favorite? You can use any Designer Series Paper with these note cards to make a fun little card and make someone smile! The are quick & easy to make!

Coloring with Stampin’ Blends for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #30

It’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge! How would YOU like to be a guest designer? Simply play along and each week someone will be chosen to be a future guest designer.  Here’s this week’s challenge board…

TTTC board #30

The “No Sentiment” box popped out at me.  I rarely make a card without a sentiment on the front so I thought I would challenge myself to use that element this week. I created a gift set of 3 x 3 cards.

I love to color (which may be one reason why I teach Pre K)!  I have shared many different coloring techniques on my blog (using aqua painters, blender pens, sponge daubers, etc.) For this project I used my Stampin’ Blends and the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.

To order the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and other Stampin Up products, visit my blog www.juststampin.com

The black and white designs are great on their own but I really like how you can customize the designs.  The flowers are so vibrant using the Stampin’ Blends and trust me, it is so easy to do…the markers do the work for you!

I am thrilled the pizza boxes from the Holiday Catalog made it on Carryover List. They are perfect for 3 x 3 cards and envelopes or food items.
Stampin Up Pizza Box idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
The DSP is 3 x 3 layered on a 3 1/4 Black square. I covered the top of the box with a 3 1/2 square of Rich Razzleberry and covered the sides with 1 x 3 1/2 strips in the same color. I added the gorgeous Whisper White Metallic Edge Ribbon as the finishing touch!  You could easily give the set of cards in black & white and let the recipient color them or enjoy some “coloring therapy” and give the set complete as I have done. Either way I think it makes a nice little gift.  I love having note cards on hand for any occasion and these fit the bill.  Stamp a sentiment inside or write a personalized note.
Here’s a tip for when you color with the Stampin’ Blends…put a piece of scrap paper under the image you are coloring becasue the color will bleed through.  You will want to adhere your colored piece to another layer. I cut my DSP in to 3 x 3 sqaures for this project.  I colored then adhered them on to 3 x 6 Thick Whisper White Cardstock (scored at 3″).  I hope this project inspires you to find time to create some handmade kindness!
You can purchase any of the products used to make today’s project from my online store or click on the images below for more information.  I invested in all the Stampin’ Blends and realize that can be a bit pricey starting out; however, I suggest you break it up over the next 3 months during Sale-A-Bration (Jan. 3 – Mar. 31) and earn a FREE item each time (with a qualifying purchase)!

Celebrate with Make a Medallion

img_0709

I can’t believe I waited until the last day of Sale-A-Bration to ink up the Make a Medallion Stamp Set!  I had so much fun layering these stamps with different color combinations.  Because this is a photopolymer stamp set, it is so easy to get perfect placement with each layer.  I used the In Colors cardstock and ribbon with the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folder… I love the debossed impression you get.  This card is really quick and easy to put together.  I started with a Whisper White card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/4.  I embossed my In Color layer which measures 4 x 5 1/4 and adhered that to the card base.  The stamped layer is a 2 7/8 square which is layered on a 3 x 3 piece of coordinating cardstock and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Here are my color combinations:

img_0713

Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron

img_0712

Dapper Denim and Bermuda Bay

img_0710

Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry

img_0714

Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder

img_0711

Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie

Do you have a favorite color combination?  Check out this video from Stampin’ Up showing some different ways to layer with this stamp set.

As you can see from the video there are so many different ways to combine the stamps in this set! I didn’t even use the sentiments that fit nicely in the medallion! I like the way this stamp set looks with the Lovely Lace embossing folder which I used to decorate my envelopes.
