K is for Kid Friendly “Kraft”

Welcome to the ABC’s with DSP! This month I am featuring projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. Today I want to share the Kraft cardstock and bags that you can use with kids to get them involved in the gift giving process and holiday projects. Stampin’ Up! Kraft paper and bags are perfect for coloring, cutting, or stamping. Give younger kids a pack of crayons or markers and a bag or 12 x 12 sheet of Kraft cardstock and let them draw, color, stamp, and design their own DSP! I love to do this with my Pre-K students. Did you see those adorable houses in the video? They are made from the Home Sweet Home Thinlits Dies and matching Sweet Home stamp set. What a fun project for you and your kids or your kids and their friends! You could decorate with DSP from Halloween Night or Candy Cane Lane. I think these project ideas in the Stampin’ Up! catalog are adorable!

Welcome to the ABC’s with DSP! This month I am featuring projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. We do not have any DSP that begins with J so I decided I would go with my choice. Today I am showcasing one I haven’t used in awhile….Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. This is one of the DSP packs that is part of the Stampin’ Up! special this month.

If you follow my blog you know that my daughter is the one who urged me to start this blog because she was going away to college and thought I needed something to keep me busy so I wouldn’t miss her so much. As much as I enjoy blogging and interacting with so many of you, I still miss her! You could say, “I’ve Got Georgia On My Mind”. So I pulled out this peachy DSP and made this card!

This sentiment says it all and it will be headed to Georgia along with a few goodies. I CASEd this design from Sam Donald and made a whole set of thank you note cards for my daughter who needed some. I thought it would be fun for her to send some peachy thank you’s coming from Georgia. I absolutely love the Stampin’ Up! note cards. They are the perfect size for thank you notes and you get 20 note cards and envelopes in a pack for $6.00. The DSP is cut at 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and layered on a 3 inch square of Pear Pizzazz. I cut the sentiment using the Layering Circles Framelits and added a few enamel shapes. I love to use DSP to make matching envelopes.

A couple of weeks ago we flew to Georgia for Family Weekend and had such a wonderful time! It was great to see Ariane and I could tell that she is where she belongs. She’s happy and thriving in her new environment. 🙂 Here’s a few photos from our fun weekend!

I’m excited because I will be heading back to Georgia in less than 2 weeks for the Stampin’ Up! Convention and World Card Making event with fellow demonstrators. I’m going a little early and staying a little longer so I can visit with my daughter while I’m there. Isn’t that just Peachy!

I is for Irresistibly Floral DSP

Welcome to the ABC’s with DSP! This month I am featuring projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. Today I am focusing on the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper. You get 12 12×12 sheets: 2 each of 6 single-sided designs. These white-on-white designs really come to life when the paper is inked.

Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

These two cards may well be the fastest cards I have ever made. I used the new Sponge Brayer from Stampin’ Up (found on page 172 in the annual catalog). To achieve these beautiful, soft results, all you do is roll the brayer in the ink a few times and roll in on your paper. You get the emboss resist without the fuss of having to emboss yourself! You just need to use a tissue to wipe away the excess ink from your DSP after you sponge it with the brayer. The white glossy patterns on the Irresistibly Floral paper resists the ink.

I chose to use the 2015 – 2017 In Colors for my cards. I sponged the first card with Watermelon Wonder. After I wiped it with a tissue, I adhered it to my Tip Top Taupe card base and made a banner using the Banners for You Stamp Set and Bunch of Banners Framelits. I attached the banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few Basic Pearl Jewels.

I just washed my sponge brayer with water to clean off the ink and squeezed it dry. For my next card I was going for the ombre effect using mint macaron ink on the diamond Specialty DSP. You can play around and get all different effects. I added organza ribbon and Basic Pearl Jewels and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from Suite Sayings with Mint Macaron ink for a tone on tone look. Simple works!
