Sunrise Sailing for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #275

It’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge!
Here’s this week’s inspiration board.

I went straight across the middle for my 3 in a row: Beach, Blue, Ink Blending. Here’s my card.

Here are the details to create this fun fold card.

Measurements/Supplies:

Stamp Set/Bundle: Sunrise Sailing
Card Base (Secret Sea): 4 ¼ x 8 ½ scored @ 4 1/4
Cardstock (Cloud Cover): 4 x 4 and 2 ½ x 5 ⅞ embossed with Soft Waves 3D embossing folder
Cardstock (Lemon Lolly): Cut 3” circle with Stylish Shapes Dies
Cardstock (Secret Sea) : Die cut sailboat and sails
Basic White: 4 x 4 (inside layer), scrap strip to stamp sentiment & die cut seagulls
Tools: Stylish Shapes Dies, Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder, Blending Brushes

Directions:
1. Fold and burnish card base.
2. Adhere embossed layer to card base.
3. Sponge Lemon Lolly Circle die cut with Timid Tiger and Daffodil Delight
ink. *Sponge off the shape first then add color with circle motion
starting at the bottom and working up.
4. Adhere the Circle to the card base making sure not to go higher than 5 ½”.
*You can use your grid paper to line up the card and circle or place card on
the envelope and line up the circle on top so it will fit in the envelope.
5. Adhere sail to boat. Add to card front with Stampin’ Dimesionals. Adhere
seagulls with liquid Glue.
6. Stamp sentiment on white strip and adhere to card with Stampin’
Dimensionals.
7. Adhere 4×4 white layer inside for stamped sentiment or handwritten
message.
8. Adhere embossed layer to envelope flap.

Pop Up Bandstand Cards with Sunrise Sailing & Mixed Florals…FREE PDF!

This card design is so much easier to create than it looks! I have been wanting to try it for awhile as I saw several different ones on Pinterest. I like simple fun folds and was afraid this was going to be too complicated. I was wrong! It’s just simple cuts and scoring. I was having so much fun creating these that I made 5 of them (so far)! I am not going to share all of them today as I want to see what you make! This week’s mystery had a little twist with some options to choose along the way. My cards showcase two different ways. I chose to emboss the bands on the cards I’m showcasing. (You could use designer series paper on the bands instead.) Here’s a closer look at each of my cards.

I find it very relaxing to color! I used my Stampin’ Blends to color the floral image on the front and back of my card as well as the envelope.

*Tip- Put a piece of scrap paper inside the envelope when coloring with Stampin’ Blends to prevent ink from bleeding through the envelope.

I chose a different option for my second card. I adhered a window sheet (using Mini Glue Dots in each corner) between the top and bottom bands to give the illusion of the sailboat floating in the water. I love how you can see the designer series paper through the acetate.

You can create beautiful sailboat scenes with a moving ocean and textured sky using the Sunrise Sailing Bundle. This set includes a hybrid embossing folder depicting a serene sailboat on the water and corresponding sailboat dies. Add to your scene with clouds, seagulls, waves, and sailboats in additional sizes. The beautiful pieces work individually or all together for a variety of textured and layered designs. I love to sail so this set was a “must have” for me!

I added an embossed layer to the bands. I used my Blending Brushes to add some white ink to the clouds and a little Misty Moonlight to the waves. I also partially embossed the envelope (making sure to leave room for the address).

This card is a classic Z fold card with the added twist of a card within a card.

I created one card using 12 x 12 DSP and a second version showcasing how to create it with 6 x 6 DSP. Here’s a closer look at each.

The 12 x 12 DSP is cut to 4 x 10 1/2 and scored at 5 1/4. I love this hidden card within a card which allows you to see both sides of the DSP.

I used every item included in the suite on today’s card. I fussy cut the drinks from the DSP. I even used the cut off glass from the corner of the paper on the inside of my card. I covered the drinks on the front with Fine-Tip glue to give it a shine like real glass.

For this card I used Basic Beige cardstock and adhered a 4 x 5 1/4 pice of DSP on top. I decorated the inside using the Sunrise Sailing Bundle and a sentiment from the Notes & Totes stamp set. I used a Blending Brush to create a water scene.
