Hearts of Elegance Fun Fold Card for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #261

Hearts are not just for Valentine’s Day! I couldn’t wait to create with the new Marbled Elegance Suite Collection! It is absolutely gorgeous!!! Here’s my fun fold card.

This card is what I would refer to as a “mash up” card. I do this a lot. I saw a pink and gold color combo I loved on Pinterest then saw a “new to me” fun fold and decided to combine bits of both to create a card for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

I created Tic Tac Toe on the diagonal with Sparkle, Free, Red &/or Pink.
I love how this card turned out and want to give a shout out to Patty Bennett for her Double Diamond Fun Fold which inspired me to try this fun fold using hearts instead of 3″ squares/diamonds. I used dies from the Hearts of Elegance Bundle which is part of the Marbled Elegance Suite. Take a look at this new online exclusive suite collection.

Here are the details if you would like to create this fun fold.
Stampin' Up! Hearts of Elegance Fun Fold card idea-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
Measurements:

Card base (Thick Basic White): 4 1/4” x 11” score at 2 1/4″, 4 1/2”, 7 3/4″
Basic White cardstock: 3 x 4, 2 x 4 Emboss each panel (Dashing Designs)
DSP (Marbled Elegance): 2 @ 4 1/4 x 4 to die cut hearts
Gold Foil: 3 x 3 to die cut heart and stitched banner
Melon Mambo cardstock: scrap to die cut banner

Directions:

Fold & burnish card base into an accordion fold. (*Use bone folder).
Adhere embossed panels.
Add hearts to front of card. Only put adhesive along the bottom of the large hearts.
*Measuring Tip- Make sure when you place your heart on the back fold that it is not taller that 5 1/2″ so it will fit in the envelope. I love using my grid paper for this!
Heat emboss sentiment on Melon Mambo cardstock with Versamark Ink and Gold Embossing Powder using Heat Tool. Cut out banner shape with Stitched Shapes Dies.
Cut small gold banner in half and adhere to ends of large banner. Adhere banner to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Adhere gold heart to back panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tie a double bow using Gold Thread and adhere to card with Mini Glue Dot.
Embellish with Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins.

My husband is on the road to recovery from his open heart surgery and I’m ready to create a fun new card kit for you! My monthly card kits are intended to make it easy for you to be able to see and try out different products while being able to substitute different stamps you already have. You don’t have to worry about having coordinating designer series paper to go with the cardstock, the right color ribbon to match, or other embellishments…everything is in the kit and shipped to you! You just need to stamp and adhere.

Just Stampin’ Kit TO GO cost: $20 for cards only or $23 with 3D project (includes shipping and handling)

Something Fancy for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #253

Happy first Thursday of the month and welcome to a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I needed a sympathy card this week. While these are never my favorite cards to make, I wanted it to be special. The Tic Tac Toe Challenge board provided just the inspiration I needed.

The center square caught my attention. Scoring is a simple technique that adds a subtle elegance. I created Tic Tac Toe going straight down the middle with Patterned Paper, Scoring, Circle. Here’s my card.

I love that the Golden Greenery Dies work with the stamp set and specialty designer series papers. I cut my greenery from the DSP. You can view the complete list of products used to create this card below. Here’s the details:

Stamps: Something Fancy, Quiet Reflections, So Sincere
Papers: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, Graceful Greenery Vellum
Ink: Old Olive Stampin’ Pad
Tools & Accessories: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Trimmer, Golden Greenery Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Bough Punch, Gold Satin Edge Ribbon, Gold Glimmer Enamel Dots, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Adhesive

Measurements:

Card base (Very Vanilla): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4
Old Olive: Cut 2 @ 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, scrap to punch 2 leaves with Bough Punch
Very Vanilla: Cut 2 @ 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 score @ 1/4 and 3/8 from edge on all four sides, scrap to stamp and die cut sentiment

Directions:

Fold and burnish card base.
Score both Very Vanilla layers according to measurements above. *You can use either the Paper Trimmer or Score Board; however, you get a deeper score with the Score Board (shown on left).
Adhere Very Vanilla layer to Old Olive layer with adhesive of your choice.
Die cut greenery from Specialty Designer Series Papers using Golden Greenery Dies. Adhere greenery and punched leaves to Very Vanilla layer with Mini Glue Dots.
Stamp sentiment in Old Olive ink and cut with Stylish Shapes Die. Add a strip of ribbon on the back of the die cut and adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Adhere layers to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish with Gold Glimmer Enamel Circle Dots.
Stamp inside sentiment on very vanilla scored layer and adhere to old olive layer. Adhere inside card.
Optional: Score envelope on all four sides same as very vanilla layers. (Unfortunately it’s hard to see it in the photo.)
