This card showcases 3 different patterns of DSP. The flower is fussy cut from DSP and adhered to the circle die cut. I punched a 2 1/4″ Circle from bronze foil to layer the sentiment with the ribbon in between.

I love the way this fun fold card opens. The sentiment circle is only attached to 1″ edge with Stampin’ Dimensionals so it acts as the closure for the card and also decorates the inside of the card.

I added a second piece of 3 x 5 1/4 DSP on the inside and decorated my envelope with DSP, foil, and cardstock to coordinate.

I stepped up my second card with an added layer of cardstock around the DSP.

I also changed up the inside of the card. *There’s no right or wrong way to do mystery stamping! It’s ok to “go rogue”!

Spanner Fun Fold Cards with Traditions of Christmas and Floral Charm…Free PDF

Did you play along with my Mystery Monday Stampin’? If you followed the clues you would have created a Spanner Fun Fold Card similar to these.

I LOVE this “new to me” fun fold! I got the idea from Wendy Cranford several years ago and can’t believe this is the first time I am trying it! It is super easy and such a fun card to make and send!

What is a spanner fun fold? This card opens up twice! The strip that spans the front of the card attaches to the two outside flaps creating the card front. There’s even a little hidden message under the spanner! The center panel of the card opens up second to reveal the inside of the card. As always I will include the PDF below. Let’s take a closer look at how this fun fold opens.

The Traditions of Christmas is my favorite new suite in the September-December Mini Catalog!

I love designer series paper (in case you didn’t already know that! LOL) and this pack has a timeless feel with traditional reds and greens, accented with touches of gold foil.

I used 3 of the patterns on my card today. I cut a continuous pattern from the DSP for the front of my card then added a different pattern for the spanner as well as my 1″ strips on the inside. I love how Stampin’ Up!’s DSP patterns coordinate. I really like the color combination of the Reds & Greens with Secret Sea with Pool Party on today’s card.

You’ve probably noticed by now that I like to show a different variation with my second card each week. Let’s take a look at the gorgeous Charming Day wedding card I created (per request from my daughter for a friend’s wedding she is going to next month).

I chose to use an embossed layer instead of DSP on my “spanner” strip across the front. I also set my focal image off to the side instead of in the center. (Remember…there are no right or wrong ways to do mystery stampin’!)
I used several Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers and leaves from the Charming Day stamp set to coordinate with the DSP.

I had to mask the sentiment from the Lifetime of Love stamp set to leave out “congratulations” as I wanted to use a larger one on the front of my card. The Wonderful Thoughts Bundle has a bunch of sentiments with coordinating dies to cut them out! (It is one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets!)
Inside I stamped another sentiment from Lifetime of Love.

You could easily fold a check or cash and tuck it under the ribbon on the flap or use a glue dot to attach a gift card. I love this designer series paper too! It makes a perfect fall wedding card (or birthday card, thinking of you, thank you, sympathy….LOL!)

Clean & Simple Garden Walk for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #223

My project for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge is a clean & simple card with a sneak peek at a gorgeous new Designer Series Paper, Garden Walk (available Sept. 6).

Here’s this week’s inspiration board.
I went across the bottom with Free, Leaves, CAS (Clean and Simple) Design. I also made Tic Tac Toe going down the middle with Frame It, Gold or Silver, and Leaves. This card came together fast!

Measurements:

Card Base (Basic White Thick): 5-1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Cardstock Layer (Poppy Parade): 4 1/4″ x 3
DSP (Garden Walk): 4″ x 2 3/4″, 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, 1/2″ x 6″ & 2″ x 6″ (envelope)
Scrap (Mossy Meadow): to punch stem from Bough Punch & 1 3/4″ Circle Punch
Scrap (Basic White) to stamp and die cut (Stylish Shapes) sentiment
Gold Twine (Simply Elegant Trim): ~5″ for bow

I also created this book style gift box for a team member who recently promoted. (She is a former librarian and loves books as much as I do!)

The ribbon is another sneak peek and I love it! It’s Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim and it’s so easy to work with! It makes a nice “bookmark” (paired with a retired gold tassel) for my little box. *This project makes Tic Tac Toe on it’s own going down the middle.

I love the color combination used for these projects.
