I have been working on my March birthday cards. I have a friend who was born on St. Patrick’s Day so I thought this would be a fun card for her.
This card starts out with a book binding fold; however, the real surprise is when you open it up…

This fun fold card was inspired by Connie Stewart.  She called it a Book Bind Explosion Card. I think it is such a fun surprise!!!

I used several stamp sets to create this card. My birthday greeting is from With You In Mind combined with some clovers from a retired stamp set, Lucky Clover. You could easily adapt this for other occasions using leaves or flowers instead of the clovers. I love to go through the stamps I have and combine different ones to create something new. The inside sentiment from (the long retired) “Itty Bitty Greetings” was perfect for this St. Patrick’s Day birthday message!!

I just know she is going to enjoy the chocolate balloon Mr. Panda is delivering! I used The Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper and the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper (both from the Occasions catalog). Here’s my card details:

Card Base: 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White scored at 5 1/2

Layer: 4 x 5 1/4 Tranquil Tide (embossed with Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder)

DSP Layer: 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper

Glimmer Strip: 1/4 x 5 1/4

I stamped the Party Panda on the DSP layer and Whisper White cardstock with Basic Black Ink.  I fussy cut the Whisper White one and adhered on top of the DSP. (Oops!  I noticed I need to clean up my glue before I send this!)  I used the 1 1/2 Circle Punch to punch the balloon through both layers.

I adhered the layer to my card base then attached the candy with a glue dot. I will send this is a bubble wrap envelope but I still decorated the card envelope to match.

Do you know anyone that has a birthday today?  I think being born on St. Patrick’s Day would make you lucky!  I know I feel lucky to have met so many wonderful people through stamping.  I love how we share and inspire each other.  Today’s card went in the mail on Monday and I so hope it reached it’s destination by today. Please join me in wishing Chris R. a very Happy Birthday! Here’s her card.

I think Emerald Envy is the perfect choice for a St. Patrick’s Day birthday.  I even love the floral Design Series Paper from the In Color DSP Stack used on the background.  However, what I love the most about this card is the different fonts and bold sentiment on the stamped image from Big on Birthdays. What a statement!  The finishing touch for this card is the simple shamrock made by coloring the hearts from the Sending Love Embellishments with the Emerald Green Marker. I attached these to the card using Glue Dots. Quick & Simple!

Chris certainly entertains us with her stories, wit, and humor.  I feel lucky that she stops by my blog and takes the time to comment.  Please know I appreciate each and every one of you for inspiring me to continue to create and share. Here’s the details for today’s card…The card base is  4 1/4 x 11 Emerald Envy scored at 5 1/2.  The DSP layer measures 4 x 5 1/4.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece of  3 x 4 Whisper White and adhered to a layer of 3 1/4 x 4 1/4   Emerald Envy.  This layer is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can replace the shamrock with a stamped bow from the stamp set or add a ribbon bow to use this card any month of the year. Switch out the ink and DSP and make it in any color!
