A is for Avant Garden Stamp Set

It’s time to start Sale-A-Brating!!!  Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sales event of the year is here—and I’m here to help you learn about the products inside and out. This alphabet series will showcase new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am sharing a card I made using the Avant Garden Stamp Set (from the Sale-A-Bration catalog) and All Things Thanks Stamp Set (from the Occasions catalog).

I started with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Sahara Sand cardstock for my card base. I scored it at 5 1/2 and added a 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 strip of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper.  I love how this flower from the Avant Garden Stamp Set goes with the DSP from the Annual Catalog.  I stamped the flower on Whisper White using Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, and Whisper White (for the center of the flower).  I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits (LOVE these!!!!) to cut out the flower and layered it on a piece of Mint Macaron cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  (I love how Stampin’ Up! made it so these Framelits work together to give us more layering options.)  I used the Mini Striped Mint Macaron Ribbon to tie a simple knot around my flower layer and attached it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is from All Things Thanks and stamped in Island Indigo.  Quick & Simple!  I can think of so many people to send this card to. Florals are so versatile for so many different cards. It could be used for a birthday card, congratulations, thank you, or just a note for no special reason.  I really like this sentiment and font!  Keep reading to find out how you can get this card delivered to your mailbox!

G is for Garden Green DSP

Garden Green Designer Series Paper from the Regals Paper Stack

Welcome to the ABC’s with DSP!  This month I am featuring projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. Today’s paper is from the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack. Garden Green is a great choice to use for your holiday projects.

Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and matching Framelits with Garden Green DSP

Today’s cards would be easy to reproduce multiples to send.  I cut the DSP 2 x 6 to get 12 strips from each 12 x 12 sheet.  You could make 48 cards or 24 cards with matching envelopes from each color scheme. I used Garden Green on my cards today. (Cherry Cobbler is also in the Regals Collection. You could make another 48 cards if needed and you would still have 8 more colors to choose from.)  I used 3 of the 4 designs for my cards.

I used the Triple Banner Punch, Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set, and Wonderful Wreath Framelits to make my cards.  Check out this short video from Stampin’ Up! for some great tips and samples using the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and Framelits.

I stamped my image a little different than she did in the video.  I used Garden Green ink to stamp the image then lifted and turned the stamp a little to the right and stamped again without reinking so it stamps a lighter shade and fills in the space. Also, I cut the inside piece on the first card then decided I didn’t really need to cut that piece out for this particular card.  It made it easier to adhere the die cut sentiment with the center piece intact.  Did you notice the difference in the cards?  You could choose to do it either way. When I’m mass producing I try to save steps wherever possible.

I love the Joy die that comes with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.  Noel is also in the set and if you want even more choices there’s merry, jolly, and peace dies in the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.  If you want to see an easel card I made with the peace die CLICK HERE. I used the Cherry Cobbler silky taffeta ribbon from the Holiday Catalog to make my bows. You could use the bow die that comes with the framelits.  Here’s a look at each card and matching envelope.

I can’t decide which is my favorite DSP pattern with the wreath.  Do you have a favorite? I love each of the 4 patterns in the Designer Series Paper Stacks and I have decided to offer a Paper Share so you can get a sampling of each collection. You will get 100 6 x 12 sheets: 20 Regal, 20 Bright, 20 Subtle, 20 Neutral, and 20 In Color.  The cost is $35 (includes shipping and tax). Email me (j.stark@myactv.net) if you would like to take advantage of this offer. Please put “Paper Share” in the subject.

What’s In Your Shoebox?

FullSizeRender 8

I recently attended a “Shoebox Swap” with my friend (and upline), Susan Itell. We had lots of laughs and chatted away as we traveled down the road and joined fellow demonstrators in the Northern Virginia area for a day of Stampin’ Fun!  Each person brought a card they made and put everything they used in a shoebox so others could create it.

This is what was in my shoebox:

Stamp sets: Gift of Love, Tin of Cards   Papers: Sweet Sugarplum, Basic Gray, Whisper White  Ink: Memento Black, Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzaz  Accessories: Organza ribbon, Wink of Stella Brush, Stampin’ Pierce Mat, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The exclusive Gift of Love stamp set is one of my favorites. Ask me how you can earn it for FREE!  (I like free, what about you?) This flower is a simple two-step process and you get a beautiful watercolor effect.  I added a little sparkle to the flowers using the clear Wink of Stella Brush.

Here’s the details how to make it:

Attach a piece of organza ribbon to a 1 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Basic Gray. (See how you can save ribbon?) Attach gray strip 1″ from the bottom of your card base.  Take a second piece of ribbon and tie a knot. Stamp sentiment in Memento Black ink above the gray strip.

Stamp the outline flower with Memento Black Ink.  Be sure to use a Stampin’ Mat to get a nice clean image when using Photopolymer stamps. Stamp the leaves using Pear Pizzaz Ink and the blooms with Sweet Sugarplum.  The photopolymer stamps make it easy to see exactly where to stamp.

Adhere the stamped image to the basic gray layer and attach to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Brush the blooms with Wink of Stella and you’re done!  Well, almost….Don’t forget the envelope! I think Sweet Sugarplum may be my new favorite color! So pretty!!!
