I knew I wanted to use this stamp set to make a Valentine card for my grand nephew. One of my favorite gifts to give (to both kids and adults) is books. What kind of card do you make to give with a book?….a book fold card (of course)!
I enjoy making cards to coordinate with gifts. The book cover was the inspiration for my card.
FYI…If you are a grandma (or have a friend who is) this book would be a wonderful gift for young grandchildren! The book is available from Amazon. I am not a grandma yet (hopefully one day) but I do get to enjoy my sister’s adorable grandson. I love that he loves books! I know my sister will read this one with him again and again! So it’s really a gift for both of them.
Coloring with Stampin’ Blends brought this adorable owl to life. I found the perfect colors to match the book cover from the 2022-2024 In Colors, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.
I used Perched In A Tree stamp set and coordinating Aspen Tree Dies to create the branch. Here’s the details if you would like to make this card.

- 2022-2024 In Color DSP (Starry Sky): 3 3/4″ x 3/4″, 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″, 2″ x 6″ (envelope)
- Starry Sky: 3″ x 3″ Cut with Stitched Greenery Die
- Basic White: 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″, 4″ x 4″ (inside card)
- Shimmery White: 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ stamp owl in Memento Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends, Scrap to stamp and fussy cut sentiment
- Early Espresso: 1 1/2″ x 5″, stamp branch in Early Espresso Ink and die cut
- Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon: 16″
I masked and stamped the sentiments in Starry Sky Ink. I colored the owl using Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, So Saffron, and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I popped the layers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
