Ombre Gift Bags for the Pals Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “2021-2023 New In-Colors.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Then, at the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.Stampin' Up! I love the gorgeous new Ombre Gift Bags which come in each of the new 2021-2023 In Colors! You can use these for treat or gift bags. I decorated my bags using the Scalloped Contour Dies and Flowers of Friendship Bundle.Stampin' Up! The Flowers of Friendship Bundle includes the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set and the Flowers & Leaves Punch. The flower imagery of the set mixes simplicity and elegance. It’s perfect for different coloring and stamping techniques. The punch includes flowers and leaf shapes that you can use as you please. Mix them together or layer them up to create a variety of flowers that will embellish any of your projects. You save 10% when your purchase the bundle. The Scalloped Contour Dies are my favorite new dies! (They are part of the Color & Contour Bundle or can be purchase separately.)

The scalloped edge borders in this set range in size, allowing you to decorate a card front or create scalloped labels for your sentiments. They’re fun to layer too! I will be sharing more projects with these dies!

I’m sure you can figure out how I decorated these bags but here’s a few tips. I inked the flower image in Evening Evergreen then masked the flowers (you can use tape, or post it notes to cover the flowers) before stamping on Basic White.

Next I cut it out using the Scalloped Contour Die. I used the Soft Succulent Blends to color in the leaves. Each of the flowers were stamped then punched with the Flowers & Leaves Punch. (*I cut my cardstock to 1 3/4″ strips to make it easier to slide in and punch without a lot of wasted cardstock.)

To add a little depth to the flowers I used my stylus to roll the center of the flower to curl the petals. You could also use a bone folder to curl the ends but for smaller flowers I find this technique easier without creasing the cardstock.

The flowers were adhered with a Mini Glue Dot and I added In Color Jewels to the center of each for a little bling. The In Color Ribbon adds the finishing touch! (This ribbon is gorgeous and so easy to work with to tie a bow without adding bulk!) I popped up the scalloped panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Here’s a look at each one.

Q is for Questions and Quick Tips

Welcome to my ABC “Sale-A-Bration” Series! This series showcases products from the 2018 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures. The catalog and brochures offer ideas, quick tips, and techniques! Today I decided to have a little fun and send you on a scavenger hunt through the catalog and brochures to find answers to some questions. (*I will post a link to the Sale-A-Bration brochures below. You can access the catalog from the menu bar on my blog.  If you are reading this in your email, click on the title to go to my blog.)

I always loved scavenger hunts and remember fun times racing around the neighborhood with brown paper bags seeing who could be first to find the items on the list. Well, you don’t need to run around! You can grab a cup of coffee (or glass of wine) and enjoy browsing the catalog.  Look for answers to the questions below, copy and paste the questions with your answers, and email them to me (j.stark@myactv.net).  I will pick a random winner to receive a Sale-A-Bration surprise!

Let’s see how well you do with these 10 questions…

  1.  What is “a little cheesy” in the Occasions catalog?
  2. Finish this sentiment from a stamp set featured in the Occasions catalog: “Life is beautiful ___ __ __”
  3. What new product allows you to create unique backgrounds with coloring techniques?
  4. I hope you didn’t miss this quick tip in the catalog…What should you do when stamping on vellum to prevent smearing?
  5. What color watercolor pencils are exclusive to the Lots of Happy kit (and are not available in our set of watercolor pencils)?
  6. Which stamp set answers this question: What happens if someone forgets your birthday?
  7. What new item can you use to “frame your art”?
  8. What new item can you use to make an interactive card?
  9. Here’s another quick tip answered in the catalog…How should you store Stampin’ Blends (and other Stampin’ Up! markers)?
  10. What products can you get for FREE with a $100 purchase?

Have fun! You have until Sunday, March 18th (midnight) to complete the Scavenger Hunt.  Email me with “Scavenger Hunt” in the subject.  Answers and winner will be announced on Monday, 19th.

**Last chance to get my “Just Stampin’ Card kit and 3D Project Buffet” to go this month. You will get 3 card kits and a 3D project kit. For more details and ordering information click HERE.
