I would love to have you join me for this week’s Mystery Monday Stampin’! It’s really fun and easy. I give you step by step clues to create a fun fold card. The best part is you USE WHAT YOU HAVE to create a handmade card! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stamper, this is a creative way to kick off your week with stamping fun. You do not need a specific stamp set or paper. You already have what you love, so use it! You will find the first clue (the supplies and measurements) for this week’s challenge below.

CLUE #1 -Gather your supplies to be ready to play Mystery Monday Stampin’

  • Cardstock #1 – 6 3/4 x 5 1/2, 3 x 4 1/4, 1 7/8 x 4 1/4
  • Cardstock #2 – 4 x 5 1/4, 2 3/8 x 5 1/4
  • Basic White/Neutral Cardstock- 2 1/4 x 3 1/2, extra to stamp/die cut sentiment and/or image for focal piece
  • Designer Series Paper (both sides should coordinate)– 10 1/2 x 4 (hortizontal), extra for envelope (optional)
  • Envelope
  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Adhesive
  • Ribbon/Embellishments of choice (optional)
  • Tools – Trimmer/Score Board, Bone Folder
  • *Optional – coloring tools, embossing folder, die cut/punch, Cut & Emboss Machine

I love that this Stampin’ Up! DSP has a “cut-apart sheet” that you can use to create a quick & easy card front. I also added an embossed strip (All In A Row Embossing Folder) on the side to coordinate with the embossed panel I used on the inside.

I used several different stamp sets for the sentiments on this card: Sweet Bugs (on front of the card), Paper Tags (die cut with circle from Stitched Shapes Dies), and Beautiful Butterflies (inside panel). I love to mix and match sentiments to make each card personal!

I started with a 6×6 piece of DSP for the inside. Then I cut it to 4×6 and scored @ 1 1/2, 3, 4 1/2 (according to the clues). I used the 2 x 6 piece that was left to decorate the envelope flap to coordinate.

It’s hard to see in the photo but I added a bee embellishment on the leaf by the sentiment.

For my second card I was inspired by a card design (From page 26 of the Spring Mini Catalog) for the front of my card..

I was inspired by Sue Campfield to create this fun fold card design.
I absolutely love the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder with the Nests of Winter DSP!

If you ordered my 12 Days of Christmas Kit to Go you received everything you need to craft along with me. Here’s a look at what was included in the kit for today’s project.

To Create this Project

  • Card Base (Thick Basic White): 4 1⁄4 x 11 score @ 5 1/2
  • Cardstock(Gray Granite): 3 3⁄4 x 5 1⁄4 die cut with Winterly Tree Top Dies, 2@ 2 1⁄2 x 4 (for the end caps inside the card), scrap to punch Double Oval Punch for sentiment layer
  • DSP(Nests of Winter): 4 x 6 scored @ 1 1⁄2, 3, 4 1⁄2, Die cut birds and branch, 1 1⁄4 x 4 3/8 (strip for front of envelope)
  • Basic White: 3 3⁄4 x 5 1⁄4 embossed with Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder, 2 @ 2 1/8 x 3 7/8 -emboss one with Birch Wood EF, scrap to punch Double Oval Punch for sentiment
  • Gray Granite Baker’s Twine

Directions:

  1. Fold and burnish card base.
  2. Accordion fold DSP on score lines.
  3. Adhere the two 2 1⁄2 x 4 cardstock pieces to each end of the card base on the inside. Make sure there is an even border on the side, top, and bottom.

  1. Place adhesive on the back of the left end of the accordian folded DSP and adhere it next to the left end cap piece leaving an even border on the side top, and bottom. Repeat with the right side, making sure the borders are all even.

  2. Adhere the Gray Granite die cut and white embossed piece together then adhere to the front of the card.
  3. Adhere the birds & branches die cut on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Tie a bow with Baker’s Twine and adhere to branch with Mini Glue Dot.
  5. Stamp sentiments. Adhere Double Oval pieces together then add adhesive to left side only and adhere to center fold on DSP.
  6. Adhere sentiment layer and embossed layer on insideendcaps.

  7.  Adhere DSP strip to front of envelope.
