Celebrate with Me…One of My Favorite Card Designs

Thanks for stopping by and helping me celebrate my 10th anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator this month. Don’t forget to leave a comment to enter my 10 Days of Giveaways! I love sharing some of my favorite products, exclusive tutorials, card kits and more! Welcome to Day 7! Today’s project is one of my favorite “go to” card designs.
Stampin' Up! Lucky Clover St. Patrick's Day card idea for a friend- Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I love the way this floral DSP looks like it could be a field of clover! You can get the 6×6 Designer Series Paper Assortments in all of the different color families (Brights, Neutrals, Regals, Subtles, and In Colors). I used Granny Apple Green from the Brights Collection.

I really like all 4 designs in this year’s assortment packs. I’m a big fan of polka dots and florals and love that I can get them in every color now!

I used the Lucky Clover stamp set to create today’s cards. If you were lucky enough to get the bundle before the punch sold out, good for you! However, if you didn’t, no worries! This is a fun stamp set on it’s own! And you can easily fussy cut the clover if you want.
Stampin' Up! Lucky Clover stamp set- Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I remember spending hours when I was young sitting in the grass looking for 4 leaf clovers! (I know for a fact they are hard to find! LOL) Today’s card showcases this stamp set and you don’t need to punch or fussy cut. I like the look when you stamp a sentiment and image on top. I used the Layering Circle Dies to cut the sentiment out and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added the cascading shamrocks with the sentiment on the inside and stamped the envelope to coordinate.

I love this card design for several reasons: it’s quick and easy, showcases the beautiful DSP, and can be used with many different sentiments. It is obvious from the collection of cards below that I use this design a lot!

You can alter the size of the DSP depending on what you are adding. For today’s notecard, I cut my DSP 3×3 so you get 4 cards from 1 6×6 sheet! I added a coordinating cardstock layer that is just 1/8″ larger. Notecards are my favorite for thank you cards and a quick little note when I need to send multiples!  You get 20 pre-scored cards & envelopes in a pack! I love to get a big bang for my buck and this does it! I usually add at least one pack of notecards to every order! They come in white or vanilla.

*Tip: For a regular A2 card, cut the DSP 3×4 to get the best use of your 12 x 12 DSP.

My daughter and my sister are visiting this week and we are having so much fun together! I love to make little favors to leave in their rooms or on the dinner table throughout the week. I found a different twist to my pretzel m&m’s recipe that is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. These are made with Rolo candy in the center to keep the “shamrock” together. They are so cute and oh so yummy!!!!!

Stampin’ Up! hits it out of the park when it comes to coordinating products! This project was quick & easy to mass produce using the In Color Designer Series Paper Assortment as well as the In Color Stampin’ Blends to tie it all together.

Pinwheel Tower Card and more for Ariane’s Birthday

Today is my daughter’s birthday! We were able to get together and enjoy an early celebration in Maine last month; however, I still wanted to send her a little something for her actual birthday. Her favorite color is purple so I pulled out the gorgeous Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and Fresh Freesia cardstock and had some fun creating a special fun fold card and Hershey nugget birthday cake.
Stampin' Up! Pansy Patch and Pansy Petals fun fold pinwheel tower birthday card idea and Hershey nugget cake- Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I saw several different pinwheel tower cards on Pinterest. I really liked the tip from Linda Heller to use DSP for the center tower (so it is not so heavy and bulky in the middle).  I was definitely inspired by her card but changed mine up to make a regular (A2 size) card.  I love how this card stands up and showcases the DSP on all four sides.

This card looks complicated but, trust me, it is really easy to make! I chose to use 4 different patterns of DSP, 2 floral and 2 gingham, to keep things simple. You could easily choose more patterns to mix and match.  I was going for a more traditional pinwheel look.  Here’s the details:

Card Measurements:

Column/Tower (Pansy Petals DSP): 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 scored @ 1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″
Cardstock panels (Fresh Freesia) : 4 pieces 2 3/4 x 4 1/4
Designer Series Paper (Pansy Petals): 4 pieces 2 1/2 x 4, 4 pieces 1 1/2 x 4
(*Cut one size each of 4 different patterns – 2 floral, 2 gingham), cut pansy and leaves from DSP
Basic White: scrap pieces for sentiments
Fresh Freesia and Evening Evergreen: scraps to punch heart & die cut flower

Directions:

  1. Fold and burnish DSP. Add adhesive to 1/4″ side and adhere to form tower.
  2. Adhere cardstock panels on each side of tower.
  3. Adhere DSP layers to cardstock.
  4. Add sentiments and embellishments to each side.

You can check out Linda Heller’s (Stampin School) video HERE.

I love the coordinated colors and different patterns in the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper! You can use the Dies included with the bundle to cut the pansy flowers and leaves.

I chose 3 patterns to make the tiered “birthday cake” to send with her card.
Stampin' Up! Pansy Petals Hershey Nugget birthday cake idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I cut 18 1″ x 3″ DSP strips to wrap the nuggets.  You need 5 for the top layer, 6 for the middle, and 7 for the bottom. To make each layer, adhere the nuggets to a 1 x 8 strip of cardstock using a strong adhesive (Tear & Tape or Stampin’ Seal +). For the top 2 layers trim off the access cardstock from the strip making sure to save enough to adhere the end piece to the first to form a circle. I used a bunch of Mini Glue Dots to adhere the nuggets to the die cut circles between each layer. *For the base I cut a circle from the heavy 12 x 12 white cardstock (in the DSP packs) and glued the Fresh Freesia cardstock circle to the top and bottom to cover the white. This makes it nice and sturdy to lift. I used more Mini Glue Dots to adhere the bow on top and ribbons down the side as well as the Loose Flower Flourishes. This “cake” was so much fun to make but almost looks too good to eat!

I thought it would be a nice surprise to send a little cash as I know she will be going out to eat with her friends from school.
Stampin' Up! Label Me Fancy Sweet Ice Cream Tag idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I adhered the plastic silverware together with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhered the money with Mini Glue Dots, and wrapped Fresh Freesia organza ribbon around it all and tied a bow.  The sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set was perfect for the tag. I was going to put this in the Ombre Gift Bag but really liked the look of it on top so I added a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the bag. Even though the Pinwheel Tower card fits in a regular envelope, I placed it inside the bag. I hope these little homemade gifts bring a smile on her special day!
