A Crafting Weekend

I had such a wonderful weekend! I was able to do 2 of my favorite things 2 days in a row…hang out with friends and craft. I didn’t even have to cook! I went out to dinner on Saturday and my wonderful husband cooked dinner on Sunday while I was getting together with C3 (Creative Card Club). Each month I meet with these talented ladies and we share ideas, techniques, and projects we’ve created and then we make each others projects. I shared a variation of a card I posted previously with the triple bow. I brought lots of ribbon so they could choose what they wanted to make a bow to match their card. We used 2 of the Sale-A-Bration items, Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper and the new Glimmer Paper, to make these cards.

You can click HERE to see the original post with directions how to make the card and bow. This is one of those “formula” cards you could use again and again with different sentiments and colors. I like black & white with a pop of color! Here’s a photo of the ladies with their finished cards.

I love how they used their leftover scraps of glimmer paper to add a strip to their envelope. Don’t these look so bright and springlike?

I wish I had taken another group picture of everyone’s cards as they all looked different because we used different designer series paper. When you start with a neutral base you can do so many color combinations!

Marissa had us heat embossing and water coloring with blender pens, ink, colored pencils and aqua painters. Here’s her card. Perfect for any occasion!

I totally messed up as I don’t have a photo of Margie with her card! I’ll make sure to catch her next time!

Susan and I took a road trip on Saturday to beautiful Virginia! We enjoyed some crafting and catching up with a fellow demonstrator, Sharon Cline, and learned to make a “bendy card”. This 3D card is not a quick & easy style card to make. I’m not sure if I’ll ever make another one but it was definitely a fun day!

I is for Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper

Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper. You can earn this paper pack for FREE with a $50 purchase from my online store.

I made a set of note cards using each of the designs. How quick & easy is this?!

Simply cut the DSP the same size as your card and adhere to the front. At this point you can choose to color with your favorite coloring tool (watercolor pencils, markers, sponge brayer, blender pens, or aqua painter) or keep it plain and simple. (I do love black & white!) You can even add a die cut or sentiment. The new Dragonfly Dreams Detailed Dies coordinate with this DSP. I am giving this set as a gift so I opted to include some dies and sentiments and let the recipient decide.

I decorated stamp cases to hold my cards. The standard stamp case will hold up to 10 note cards & envelopes and the wide stamp case will hold 10 – 20. You could even include a set of the new Stampin’ Up Watercolor Pencils in the case. (I love these!!) I have given these decorated stamp cases as gifts before. (Click HERE to see.) I cut a piece of 7 1/4 x 11 1/4 Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper and used the watercolor pencils and a blender pen to color. I love to color! (Hmmm, this could explain why I am a preschool teacher.) When complete just slide into the sleeve on the stamp case.

I had so much fun making these! I also made this card and matching envelope to give to a coworker.

I thought a set of cards to color would be a perfect gift while she recovers from surgery. I’m sure she’ll appreciate some note cards to send thank you notes to everyone who brought meals, etc. For the standard size case I cut a 5 1/2 x 7 1/4 piece of DSP and this time I left it plain. The DSP covers the front and the spine but not the back of the case. I figured with the cards in the case the back looked fine. She can always take out the insert and color that too if she wants! After she uses the cards she can use the case to store the watercolor pencils or markers and this way she can easily see what’s inside with a quick glance at the back.

Stampin’ Up! 2017 Occasions Catalog Sneak Peeks

I am so excited to share with you more from my weekend of fun in Atlanta! I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know several of my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. We got to see and play with great new product coming out in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs (which you will be able to order from starting January 4th). There are many new products which I know you are going to love as much as I do! (I suggest putting a Stampin’ Up! gift certificate on your Christmas wish list! I was so glad to see some wedding and anniversary stamp sets in the new catalog! I love all the new products in the Falling In Love Suite! This card was made using the stamp set below and the So Detailed Thinlits Dies. You will be available to order these as a Bundle and SAVE!!

These cute 3 x 3 note cards were created using the Sealed With Love Stamp Set.

This card uses the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and some of the Inside the Lines DSP (a Sale-a-Bration exclusive item that you can earn for free!). We also got to play with the new Watercolor Pencils…love these!!! They’ll be available in 13 Stampin’ Up! colors.

There were also photo ops and lots of display boards showcasing the new product and ideas. As I walked around each corner I said, “WOW!” again and again!

My suitcase was packed full going home with all the swaps, new product gifts, and prizes. I actually had to ship some of my clothes home as I wasn’t leaving my new stamp sets behind! LOL

Our team, the PALS, gathered for a pizza social after the event. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and congratulate our fearless leader, Mary Fish, who was named the TOP Demonstrator in the WORLD! WOW!!! I love this picture with my uplines. I am surrounded by greatness!
