Bright colors, flowers, twine, spring, 3D…all these elements and more are here in this fun fold pop up card. I used the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s online exclusives for the background on my card.
Check out this soft but striking paper pack!

Product colors: Basic Black, Blueberry Bushel, Crushed Curry, Fresh Freesia, Garden Green, Melon Mambo

The high-contrast design of these detailed florals and pretty patterns will bring depth and dimension to all your paper crafts.

I had fun using the “spritzing technique” with the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle.

The Beautiful Butterflies Bundle includes the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set and the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder (with 12 Dies). The Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder is a great way to bring fluttery, delicate designs to your paper crafts! There’s so much you can do with this set! One of the dies cuts out a folded butterfly-shaped card. Cut it out, then layer an embossed butterfly on top for depth. Here’s a closer look at the dies!

Here’s how I did the Spritzing Technique
Supplies: Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder, Ink, Blending Brushes, Sponge Daubers, Stampin’ Spritzer, Vellum (or cardstock), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine
Spritzing Technique with Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
1. Use a Blending Brush to apply Boho Blue ink to the butterfly on the raised part of the embossing folder (the side that has the Stampin’ Up! Logo on the front).
2.  Use sponge daubers to add Melon Mambo and Garden Green ink.
3. Lay the butterfly die in the embossing folder with the cutting edge up. *You will feel it “lock” in place.
4. Spray a couple squirts of water with the Stampin’ Spritzer.
5. Lay the vellum (or cardstock) on top, close the folder, and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It will blend the inks, cut, & emboss at the same time!

6. Allow to dry then add die cut butterfly layer.

I created another butterfly using this technique with cardstock and different colors.

What do you think of this technique? Do you like the vellum with the blue butterfly or the spritzed cardstock with the white butterfly better? I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below.

Trifold Accordion Card with Colored Butterflies for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #251

Happy Thursday and HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. Since it’s Thursday, it’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge! Here’s a look at this week’s board.
TicTacToeChallenge#251-visit juststampin.com for inspiration and more details-Jeanie Stark Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
.I love butterflies! When I saw this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge board I knew I wanted to create a card highlighting these colorful insects.
Stampin' Up! Paper Butterfly Accents, Layering Leaves and Flowering Zinnias Thinking of You fun fold card idea-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I created Tic Tac Toe 3 ways starting with butterfly: down the right side (butterfly, fun fold, markers), across the top (sparkle, ribbon, butterfly), and on the diagonal (butterfly, yellow, border). It’s so much fun to create with the tic tac toe inspiration board! I hope you’ll give it a try!

I love that this fun fold design allows you see both sides of the gorgeous Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper.
Here’s a closer look at my fun fold card.
Stampin' Up! Layering Leaves and Flowering Zinnias Thinking of You fun fold card idea-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
The card opens like a book and tells a story. I used sentiments from 3 different stamp sets. Thinking of You is from Layering Leaves which is a perfect all occasion stamp set with leaf foliage and a coordinating punch! I often mix and match to create a customized card. The sentiment below is from Sketched Butterflies!

This card is perfect for anyone going through a difficult time.
Stampin' Up! Comforting Thoughts, Paper Butterfly Accents, and Flowering Zinnias fun fold card idea-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
The Comforting Thoughts stamp set has so many wonderful sentiments for when you’re trying to find the right words to say. This sentiment-only stamp set includes messages of love and support for people who are going through hard times.
Stampin' Up! COmforting Thoughts Stamp Set- visit juststampin.com for inspiration and ordering information-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
The greetings in this set are inspired by the people who have survived difficult situations. Stampin’ Up! gathered the words of comfort they found during those times, and created this stamp set to help you love and support others in similar situations. Use this set for get-well cards, sympathy cards, or thinking of you cards. We all have times that are harder than others, and a heartfelt card with a loving sentiment and personalized message can show someone they are not alone. I can’t always be with my sister as she fights her battle with cancer but I want her to know that I am always thinking of her!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Butterfly Accents and a cool technique I learned from Brandy Cox.
Stampi' Up! Paper Butterfly Accents-visit juststampin.com for coloring techniques, handmade inspiration, ordering information, and more-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
You’ll love the versatility of these detailed, laser-cut Paper Butterfly Accents! You get 40 pieces (8 each of 5 sizes). They come in a base color of white, so you can easily customize them using your favorite Stampin’ Up! coloring technique. Use them for card making, scrapbooking, and other paper crafting projects to add a fun, dimensional element. I colored the butterflies with Stampin’ Blends starting with the lightest color on the inside and adding darker shades going outward.  It is quick & easy! Then I inked the butterflies with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder to make them shine! It’s magic! I chose colors from the designer series paper. Here’s a look at each of the butterflies and the colors I used.

*You can find the complete list with links to the Stampin’ Up! products I used below.

Measurements:

Card base (Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper): 12 ” x 5 1/2 ” scored at 1 3/4, 4 3/4, 7 3/4
Old Olive: Cut 3 @ 2 3/4 x 4 1/4
Basic White: Cut 3 @ 2 1/2 x 4
Lemon Lime Twist: scrap to punch leaf with Bough Punch

Directions:

  1. Fold DSP along score lines according style.
  2. Add Adhesive to connect the middle fold.
  3. Stamp white pieces. Emboss the one for the front with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing Folder.
  4. Adhere white pieces to Old Olive layer. Wrap ribbon and tie a simple knot on front layer.
  5. Adhere Old Olive layers to card starting with the one on the inside back first. (It makes it easier to line up each layer to cover the last one.) *When adding front layer and middle layer make sure to just put adhesive on the left side of the layer. When the card is closed, all of the layers will line up so you only see the front piece.
  6. Color butterflies with Stampin’ Blends. Use Black marker to color butterfly center. Tap top of butterflies with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder using heat Tool.
  7. Add Mini Glue Dots to the center of the butterflies to adhere to card. Pinch the wings forward to give dimension and movement. Add Matte Black Dots to butterflies.
