Before I get to today’s project, I want to share a little backstory. First of all, I absolutely love it when my grown children ask me to make them cards, special recipes, etc! One day my daughter mentioned how she liked that one of her coworkers added some seasonal decorations to her cubicle at work. She doesn’t have a lot of space and said storage would be an issue. Well my mind started racing thinking oh what a great idea…I can send her something each month. I often miss the days when I added little notes and surprises in lunchboxes, made special treats for classroom parties, sent care packages to college dorms, etc. I was excited for this new challenge!

I love that inspiration is everywhere!!! I recently discovered a website that has gorgeous wreaths and coordinating garden flags (ashleynicoledesigns.com). *Check them out! I love her designs (Made in the USA). I especially love how she adds bows on her garden flags (something I had not seen before). Inspiration overload!!!!! Challenge accepted!

Lovely Lavender Hostess Gifts

I’ve been in New York this week visiting my daughter. I used the January 2024 Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin kit to make a hostess gift set for her.

The tag from the kit was perfect to go with the lavender plant I picked up at Target. I also used the die cuts from the kit on the easel calendar card. Here’s a look at the intended cards/projects designed for this January 2024 Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit.

You can Click HERE to watch Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble the kit as intended. This kit coordinates with the Perennial Lavender Suite in the Spring Mini Catalog. I used the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper and the Purple Shimmer Gems from the suite on the calendar card I made. The leaves and lavender die cuts are from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

Here are the details to create the calendar easel card.

Measurements:

Card base (Highland Heather): 4 1/4 x 11, scored @ 2 3/4 & 5 1/2
Cardstock Layer (Gorgeous Grape): Cut 2 @ 5 1/4 x 4
DSP (Perennial Lavender): Cut 2 @ 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
Cardstock Layer (Highland Heather): 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 (for calendar), 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 (for Sticky Note)
Basic White: scrap to stamp sentiment (from So Sincere) and die cut with Thoughtful Expressions Die

Directions:

Fold & burnish card base.
Adhere DSP to Gorgeous Grape cardstock. Adhere one layer inside card base.
Adhere calendar to cardstock layer. Place die cuts from Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin kit on cardstock layer and adhere with a few Mini Glue Dots. Adhere calendar to DSP layer covering the bottom of the die cuts. Stamp sentiment and cut with Thoughtful Expressions Die. Adhere beside die cuts with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere this layer to front of card only applying adhesive on the bottom section on the card so it adheres below the score line.
Adhere sticky note pad to cardstock layer and adhere to card base. It is the stopper for the easel.
Embellish with Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.
