Creating A Shaped Card using Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #268

I love to make fun fold cards and this one is quick & easy using the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle!

The inspiration for today’s card came from this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge board.

I chose to go down the middle: Shape Card, Free, Ink Blending. The shape card was easy to create using the Beautiful Butterflies Dies. Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies Dies-visit juststampin.com for inspiration and ordering information-Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Here are the details to create today’s card:

Supplies:
Stamp Set & Dies: Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies Bundle
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Strawberry Slush, Flirty Flamingo, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Stampin’ Up! Notecards & Envelopes, Basic White & Strawberry Slush cardstock
Tools & Accessories: Blending Brushes, Wink of Stella, Silver 1/8″ Trim, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Measurements:
Card base: 5 x 7 score @ 3 1/2
Cardstock (Strawberry Slush): 3 1/2 x 5 Die cut butterfly and 2 body pieces
White Cardstock: scrap to stamp & die cut sentiment

Directions:

Using the large butterfly die from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies, line the marks on the top side of the die on the fold of the card and die cut the butterfly shaped card.
Using Strawberry Slush ink, stamp the butterfly wing stamp on all four wings of the butterfly on the card front.
Use a blending brush and Pretty in Pink ink and lightly ink around the edges on the card front.
Stamp the small dotted stamp in Flirty Flamingo ink randomly around the butterfly wings.
Die cut one of the detailed large butterfly die cuts using Strawberry Slush cardstock. Use a blending brush to to add some Strawberry Slush ink to the outside of the wings. Adhere to the card base. *I just added adhesive in the middle .
Die cut out the “body/middle” of the butterfly twice. Adhere one to the top of the card as shown. Cut the head off the second one and adhere over the top of the butterfly to elongate the body.
Brush Wink of Stella on the detailed butterfly to add a little glimmer.
Tie a bow with the ribbon and adhere to card with a mini glue dot.
Stamp the sentiment and cut it out with the die. Adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals on each end. Embellish with flat pearls.
Stamp sentiment inside or add a handwritten message. Stamp butterfly on the front of the envelope to coordinate.

Wildly Flowering Diamond Flap Fun Fold Card for Tic Tac Toe #259

I love to create fun fold cards! I chose the elements going down the right side: fun fold, free, embellishment.

The floral designs in the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper are all hand-painted and include canvas textures for unique detail.

This paper is elegant yet playful and can be used for many different occasions: Birthday, Thinking of You, Sympathy, Get Well, Wedding, etc. I paired the floral paper with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder and Magnolia Mood Dies to create this fun fold diamond flap card.

Card Supplies/Measurements:

Card base (Thick Basic White): 11 x 4 1⁄4 scored at 5 1⁄2 and 8 7/8
Basic White Cardstock: die cut flowers from Magnolia Mood Dies, 3” square Embossed Layer (Boho Blue): 2 3⁄4 square
DSP Layers (Wildly Flowering): 3 1/8 x 4, 2 x 4, 2 1⁄4 x 6 (envelope)
Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder
2023-2025 In Color Dots

Directions:

Cut the point for the diamond layers. Make a mark at 2 1/8” on the end of the card near the first score line. Cut off both corners from that point to the scoreline as shown.
Fold & burnish card base, folding in half and then folding the point back.
Adhere the DSP layers to the card front and inside.
Adhere white square to triangle to create diamond.
Emboss cardstock layer with Layered Florals 3D embossing folder and adhere to white diamond.
Add large die cut flower with mini glue dots. Adhere small flower with Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
Embellish center of flower with In Color Dot.
Stamp sentiment on inside or add handwritten message.
Adhere DSP to envelope flap and trim to fit.

I couldn’t decide which pattern to use for today’s project so I created three different color combos to showcase these vibrant colors. I used a sentiment from the Simply Zinnias Stamp Set on the inside. It is perfect for these zinnia seed packet holders.

The Comforting Thoughts Stamp Set is another “must have” in my opinion. This sentiment-only stamp set includes messages of love and support for people who are going through hard times. I will use this stamp set for cards for my sister who is battling cancer. It is perfect for get-well cards, sympathy cards, or thinking of you cards. We all have times that are harder than others, and a heartfelt card with a loving sentiment and personalized message can show someone they are not alone.

Anniversary Special

I could not have done this for this long without the support from all of you! As a special thank you and to celebrate the occasion, I’m sending out handmade cards with every order this month. Measurements:

Cardstock for Base : 4 x 11 scored @ 4 ¾, 9 1/2, 9 5/8
Cardstock Layer: 3 ½ x 4 ¼
Designer Series Paper: 3 ¼ x 4

Directions:

1. Fold and burnish score lines. Fold up the card with the small flap to hold the seed packet tucked inside.
2. Put a strip of Tear & Tape on each side of the inside of the flap, as close to the edges as possible so you can fit your seed packet inside.
3. Stamp inside sentiment before removing tape and adhering flap.
4. Adhere DSP to cardstock layer.
5. Wrap twine around layer and tie a bow. Adhere to card front.
6. Stamp sentiment and punch with Double Oval Punch. Adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Embellish with Brushed Brass Butterflies.
