A dear friend of mine just lost her mom (4 days shy of her 100th birthday). I’ve known my friend Lynne since we were in the 5th grade together. She was one of 8 kids and I have many happy memories in their home. It was always full of love, family, friends, and delicious homemade meals. I wanted to create a special card to celebrate the life of her beloved mom and the gorgeous Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper helped achieve just that!
This patterned paper pack is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase! Look at all the beautiful designs!
I am in love with this paper! It coordinates with the Fragrant Flowers Bundle in the Mini Catalog. This was a must have bundle for me!
I love the simple bold sentiments and coordinating dies. No matter the occasion, somehow flowers just seem to fit! I cut my flower from the designer series paper for this card.
This card came together quick.
Measurements & Details
Thick Basic White Cardbase: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap to stamp sentiment
Favored Flowers DSP: 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″, 1/2″ x 4 1/2″(envelope), die cut flower
Fresh Freesia: 5/8″ x 4 1/2″ strip (envelope)
Blackberry Bliss: 4 1/4″ square to cut flower die to adhere to DSP (optional)
Fresh Freesia Ribbon: 16″
Wrap the ribbon around the Basic White layer then pop it up with Dimensionals and adhere to the card base. I adhered the flower die cut to a card stock layer and popped it up with Dimensionals too. I stamped the sentiment from Seaside Bay in Blackberry Bliss ink. I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a Heart Pearl to the sentiment. That’s all there is to create this beautiful card!

Yesterday I shared two cards I made showcasing the new 2022-2024 In Colors. Today I have all the details and a simple tip how to make them! Here’s a look at the cards.
These cards were inspired by a card I received from my friend, Susan. Here’s her card.
I really like how Susan used different strips of paper to create a fun card. I also love how she stamped images and another sentiment using Versamark to add a subtle message without taking away from the main sentiment. Like Susan, I heat embossed my main sentiment and then added an additional sentiment and stamped images on some of the paper strips. Here’s a closer look at my cards.
There’s so many possibilities with this card design. You can use cardstock, Designer Series papers, or a combination of each. Here’s the details if you would like to create this card:
Basic White card base: 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Cut cardstock (or DSP) into 2 1/2″ strips.
Choose sentiment to heat emboss for main sentiment. Cut to length. *Mine is 2 1/2 x 2.
Cut additional strips into 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″ strips. *All strips are x 2 1/2.
TIP: Cut a strip of cardstock 1 1/2″ wide and line up on side of card base and adhere with washi tape (or removable tape). *This will make it easy to add strips for a straight margin.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to add strips. Stamp additional images or sentiments on some of the strips using Versamark.
Remove cardstock margin and embellish with punched or die cut pieces. *I stamp the flowers and leaves in Versamark and punched out with the Flowers & Leaves Punch. I adhered these to the card with Mini Glue Dots.
Decorate envelope to coordinate.
You can view the stamps sets and list of products I used below. The new 2022-2024 In Colors will be available to purchase starting May 3rd.
So what do you think….Do you like the new In Colors? Will you give this card design a try? I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment below and I will pick a random winner to receive one of these cards. I can envision so many possibilities and can’t wait to create with some DSP next!

Oh my gosh! I love this “new to me” fun fold card! I learned this “bay window” fun fold idea from Rachel Tessman. I changed it up using the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and several different stamp sets. I made this card for my sister’s birthday. She loves hydrangeas! Our birthdays are just two days apart and we often celebrated together growing up. I added some butterflies because they remind me of my favorite “butterfly cake” my mom would bake for my sister and me. (*To make a butterfly cake, my mom would bake a round chocolate cake, cut it in half, and put the curved sides in the middle. She would frost it all over, put Hershey kisses down the middle, and add licorice for antennae. Perfect for our spring birthdays!)
Here’s more photos of this cool fun fold card. This first one shows what the card looks like closed.
The butterflies are stamped on Basic White using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and Memento Black Ink. They are colored with Stampin’ Blends and punched out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.
Here’s a look at the inside of the card.
The inside sentiment is from the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set. I added the Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon and a Pastel Pearl to the sentiment on the side from Punch Party. It is punched out using the Timeless Label Punch and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold the card open for the bay window look.
Here’s the details if you would like to make this fun fold:
Card Base (Thick Basic White): 4 1/4 x 11 scored on the long side at 3/8, 1 7/8, 3 5/8, 5 1/8, 5 1/2
DSP (Hydrangea Hill floral): 4 1/8 x 6 – Cut 1 5/8 off end. Then cut in same direction pieces that measure 1 3/8, 1 5/8, and 1 3/8 (x 4 1/8)
DSP (Hydrangea Hill striped): Cut 2 at 1/4 x 4 1/8
Adhere 1 5/8 x 4 1/8 piece of DSP (that was cut first off the end) inside the card along the end.
Add Tear & Tape inside the 3/8 score line beside the 5 1/2″ card fold. Remove tape and adhere to the card base.
Add striped DSP inside the 3/8 score lines on the front of the card base on each end. *See photo above.
Adhere floral DSP in the order it was cut to the front of the card.
Stamp sentiment in the center with Highland Heather Ink.
Stamp sentiment on scrap white with Highland Heather Ink and punch with Timeless Label Punch.
Stamp 3 butterflies with Memento Black Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends. Punch with Butterfly Duet Punch and adhere to front of card with Mini Glue Dots.
Stamp sentiment inside card.
Tie a simple knot with Gorgeous Grape Ribbon and adhere to punched sentiment with Mini Glue Dot. Add Pastel Pearl. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center of punched sentiment and adhere to card. *this will allow the end of the card to tuck under when it is open to create the bay window.
Adhere DSP to envelope flap and trim with Paper Snips.
Have a great day! Stay safe! Stay well!
