One of the things I love about attending Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage events is getting together with my stamping friends and swapping cards. Here are some of the cards I received. *Each of these cards are made with items that are retiring. If you see something you like, order now before it’s too late!
Susan used the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper and Layering Love Stamp set. I love the large sentiments in this stamp set. It will be retiring in May so grab it now while you still can! You can check out the other sentiments in this set in the product list below.
Nancy used Butterflies Thinlits and Garden in Bloom Stamp Set to create this fun card. The thinlits, stamp set, and Fluttering Embossing Folder used on the envelope are retiring. Get them before they “fly” away! Here’s a peek at the inside of this card.
I love the way Nancy cut out the circle on the front of the card and had the butterfly wings peeking through! So creative!
Karen used the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and Bold Butterfly Framelits Die to create this beautiful card. This butterfly stamp set and Framelits are also retiring! I love all the layers and texture on this card!
This thank you card created by Mary Anne is sure to brighten anyone’s day! I absolutely love the Flower Shop Stamp Set and matching Pansy Punch and I may shed a few tears over these retiring. I have used them for all different occasions! I love the way Mary Anne heated embossed the flowers with white embossing powder then watercolored such bright and cheery colors. She used my favorite paper too, Shimmery White. Thank goodness the paper is sticking around!!!
Anne-Marie made matching red tags for all the PALS attending the event. She is just the sweetest and is from my home state of Massachusetts! She used the Country Livin’, Guy Greetings, and Hardwood Stamp sets to create this masculine birthday card using the masking technique. For some reason I want to sing “These boots were made for walking..” The Guy Greetings stamp set used on this card is retiring but Hardwood and Country Livin’ will be in the new annual catalog.
I hope this showcase of cards has inspired you today! Check back tomorrow to see more beautiful cards I received. Be sure to check out the retiring items below so you don’t have any regrets later! Don’t forget, you will receive my swap card (click HERE to view) with your online order in April! Click HERE to shop.

Tonight was Back to School Night. I always enjoy this evening getting to know the parents of my Pre-K students and establishing our partnership in learning. I made bookmarks to give to each of the parents. Parents often ask me what they can do to help their child succeed in school. My #1 answer is always the same…Read to your child! I hope this will be a little reminder.
I had fun making these in many different colors! I used Shimmery White cardstock. Each one measures 2 x 5 1/2. You can make 8 from 1 sheet of cardstock.
They are quick & easy to make using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Butterfly Basics Stamp Set, Bold Butterfly Framelits, some ribbon, baker’s twine, and Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I stamped the fern twice in Pear Pizzazz ink without reinking. I love this sentiment!
I love to give books as gifts and enjoy making a handmade bookmark to tuck inside. There is plenty of room on the back to write a personal note. The Tag Topper Punch is the most used punch in my collection…a must have in my opinion.
Do you have a favorite book? Leave a comment and let’s see what everyone likes to read these days!
Have a wonderful evening!

Welcome to my ABC’s with Fun Folds series. Today I have a Lever Card for you. Spring is in the air and we released our butterflies at school today. My Pre-K students love this every year! We’ve watched them change from caterpillars to butterflies and now it was time to let them go. I was drawn to the Butterfly Basics stamp set for my fun fold card today.
I decided to use one of the new In Colors, Lemon Lime Twist, to go with the letter of the day. I really didn’t think I was going to like this color but, after pairing it with black with last month’s Paper Pumpkin and now with Dapper Denim, it is really growing on me. I think sometimes it just takes the right color combination. I often get asked how I choose the colors. Most of the time I get my inspiration from clothing, bedding, home decor, magazines, HGTV, or our Designer Series Paper packs. For this card I chose the colors from the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper. I love the way the paper packs have the coordinating colors printed right on the pack. Makes it so easy! I used the DSP to cut my butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits. I cut another butterfly from vellum using the Bold Butterfly Framelits and adhered the two with glue dots.
Then I pulled the colors from the DSP to make the card. The card base is Lemon Lime Twist cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. I cut a piece of 5 x 6 Very Vanilla for the inside and scored it at 2 and 4. I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut a square out of the front of my card.
I also used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut 3 squares the colors of my butterfly. I stamped the top layer using the fern from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and Lemon Lime Twist Ink. I stamped the inside and front of my card using sentiments from this set and Dapper Denim Ink.
Next, I applied adhesive to the back of the inside sentiment panel only and adhered it to the inside of the card. Then I closed the card and applied adhesive just where the inside piece peeks through the front and attached the layered squares inside the square.
I attached the butterfly with some glue dots and added a few rhinestones. This card sits nice on a desk or shelf. I also like that there’s a nice panel to sign the card.
Here’s a short video showcasing the Butterfly Basics and Butterfly Thinlits Dies. *This is an older video. She uses the magnetic plate and wax paper to cut out the butterfly die. I highly recommend the Precision Base Plate and the thin die adapter. I was able to cut my butterfly out easily just running it through the Big Shot once. Much easier with better results!!!
She made some adorable cards with this stamp set and dies and you can too! If you would like to purchase any of the materials I used on my card today, please Click HERE to visit my online store.
Yesterday I shared the 3 new Sale-A-Bration items. My favorite new item is the 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack! I need a lot of thank you cards so I decided to play with the new glimmer paper to make some cards.
I have used this simple card design before. You can change the DSP and choose a variety of sentiments then cut them out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Ovals Framelits. I used DSP from Floral Boutique, Succulent Garden, and Blooms & Bliss. The DSP is cut at 3 1/4 x 3 1/2 and matted with a layer of cardstock that measures 3 3/8 x 3 5/8. I chose colors to coordinate with the new glimmer paper from Sale-A-Bration…Bermuda Bay with Night of Navy, Sweet Sugarplum with Old Olive, and Mint Macaron with Island Indigo.
The sentiments are from Suite Sayings, Suite Sentiments, and Dragonfly Dreams though many others would fit as well. I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut the butterflies from each of the different colors of glimmer paper. The 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack comes with 12 sheets; 4 each of 3 colors (Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum).
Here’s a look at each of the cards with envelopes to coordinate. Which one is your favorite?
For more inspiration check out this video showcasing the new glimmer paper.

Welcome to the ABC’s with DSP! This month I am featuring projects showcasing Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. Today I am using the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper to make 5 cards and envelopes from just one sheet of 12 x 12 DSP.
I love working with one sheet of 12 x 12 paper and seeing what I can make. I wanted some quick cards so I cut my 12 x 12 sheet of Designer Series Paper into 6 4×6 inch pieces. The Festive Birthday DSP coordinates with Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White cardstock so I pulled out a sheet of each to play with. Here’s how I put the cards together.
I trimmed a piece of precut 4 x 6 DSP to 4 x 5 1/4 and then just folded down one corner and adhered it to a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White. I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Happenings Stamp Set in Tempting Turquoise ink to match my card base. I punched the flower from a scrap piece of melon mambo using the pansy punch. I added a white perfect accent to the center and adhered it to my card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I used the 3/4 x 4 inch leftover piece of DSP inside the card. (I just adhered it to the bottom of a piece of Whisper White measuring 4 x 5 1/4. I forgot to take a photo. Sorry!)
I cut 2 pieces of 4 x 6 DSP in half to make 4 2×6 pieces to decorate the envelopes. I cut a 1/4 inch strip from each color of cardstock used for the card bases to put on the envelopes with the DSP.
My next card also uses a piece 4 x 6 DSP trimmed to 4 x 5 1/4. (This time I saved the 3/4 x 4 inch piece for another card.) I love the way the Stampin’ Up! DSP is double sided. Here I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut my butterfly from a piece of 2 1/4 x 5 Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Butterfly Basics in Emerald Envy, cut the banner, and attached some Emerald Envy ribbon and a bow. I used a glue dot to adhere the butterfly and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
The first 2 cards and envelopes used 3 pieces of the 4 x 6 DSP. For my next 2 cards I will use 2 more pieces. I cut one piece of 4 x 6 DSP in half to make 2 3×4 inch pieces. (The other 4 x 6 piece is used for the envelopes.)
I adhered the 3 x 4 piece on to a Crushed Curry card base. I stamped the sentiment from Watercolor Words on Whisper White cardstock with Crushed Curry ink. I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut the sentiment and a scalloped circle from Emerald Envy cardstock. I added a piece of the Emerald Envy ribbon with a glue dot and attached the sentiment layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished off this quick & simple card.
My next card uses the 3/4 x 4 ” piece of DSP leftover from trimming the striped paper on the banner card. (It could be used on the inside of a card or layered on the front like I did here.)
I adhered the DSP to a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Watercolor Words using Melon Mambo ink. I wrapped some Melon Mambo thick Baker’s Twine and tied a bow before adhering it all to the card base using Fast Fuse.
I cut my last piece of 4 x 6 DSP in half to make the card below. I attached the DSP to a Pumpkin Pie card base. This card could easily be vertical or horizontal. This is one of those layouts I use again and again. It seems to look different every time just by changing the DSP and matching cardstock, ribbon, cut out shape, and/or orientation.
I stamped the sentiment from Suite Sayings using Pumpkin Pie ink. I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch and also punched one out from a scrap of Peekaboo Peach to layer the sentiment. I attached the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a Peekaboo Peach bow using a glue dot.
How cool is it that you can make 5 quick cards using just 1 piece of 12 x 12 DSP?! When you add the different sentiments and embellishments no one would ever know it was just a 4 x 6 piece of paper that started it all! They all look different. Do you have a favorite?
