R is for Reindeer

Welcome to my ABC Holiday Series! When my kids were little we always sprinkled food for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve. Even though my kids are grown I still make magic reindeer food for my students.  The Seasonal Chums Stamp Set and coordinating Framelits make it quick & easy to make these adorable little gifts. I had so much fun coloring them with my Stampin’ Blends.

Stampin Up Seasonal Chums Treat Holder - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I made this free standing holder for the treat tube when Paper Pumpkin had the tubes last year.  I love that Stampin’ Up! brought them back but they will be retiring with the holiday catalog at the end of the month so stock up now!!! You can fill these tubes with so many things…bath salts, candy, money, etc. The holder idea was from Ellen Hutson and I adapted it for my “Magic Reindeer Food”.  It is quick & easy to make! Start with a 3 x 9 1/2 strip of cardstock.  I used 12 x 12 Cherry Cobbler from the Be Merry Cardstock Pack in the annual catalog.  (You can get 4 from a sheet which is great if you are making them for a classroom.) Use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and score along the 9 1/2″ side at 1 1/8, 4 1/4, 6 1/4, 7 1/2, and 8 5/8.

Fold along the score lines.  Next, punch 2 circles from scrap paper using the 3/4″ circle punch.  Adhere these where to the cardstock where you need to punch the holes for the treat tube.  (See photo below.) *When punching the hole on the right side you will need to fold the end under and punch through both layers because the punch will not reach far enough.  Here’s some photos to show you.

The part on the end will get tucked under when you adhere the holder.  Apply adhesive on the back of the end piece and fold up and under to form the stand.

I added a piece of 2 7/8 x 2 Reindeer DSP from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper.

I love the adorable Seasonal Chums Stamp Set and coordinating Seasonal Tags Framelits. Both the stamp set and dies will carry over after the holiday catalog retires but you will no longer get to save 10% when you purchase the bundle. So if this is something you’ve been thinking about ordering, get it now and save 10%! You can use these for tags, treat toppers, cards, etc.  I know it is something I will use year after year because I love to give little treats! (I haven’t even played with the snowman yet!!!)

I filled my treat tubes with oatmeal and glitter. I colored the reindeer with the new Stampin’ Blends.  I love to color and these markers just glide and do all the work for you! I used Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, and Cherry Cobbler Blends to color then cut out the reindeer with the matching framelit.  I attached it to the treat tube with a glue dot and I was done! My students are going to love these!!!

A Sweet Chocolate Treat

Stampin Up Year of Cheer Lindt chocolate treat holder idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

During our weekend away my friends and I visited the Lindt Chocolate Outlet in Pennsylvania.  I thought I had died and gone to heaven! They had bins and bins with every flavor filling you could imagine.  You could pick and choose to fill a bag with different flavors. My mind was racing …I saw Stampin’ Up! colors everywhere and couldn’t wait to make these adorable mini cracker boxes to color coordinate.

The Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper was the perfect choice for these gold and copper foiled truffles. These are really quick & easy to make with one of my favorite “must have” tools, the Envelope Punch Board.  Susan has been waiting patiently for me to post the measurements for these so Susan, this is for you!!!!

Start with a piece of 4 1/4 x 6 piece of DSP.  Use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool (another favorite well loved tool!!!!) to score along the 6″ side at 1 3/8, 2 3/4, 4 1/8, 5 1/2.  Turn and score (with the 4 1/4″ side across the top) at 1 3/8.  Fold along the score lines.

Next use the Envelope Punch Board and with the short side across the top, line up the DSP at the 1″ mark and punch. *The 1 3/8 score line should be off to the right. You will fold and punch along each score line at the 1″ mark. *You will be punching through two layers each time except the one on the end which will just be one layer.

Next, cut up on the score lines at the bottom to the 1 3/8 score line.  Cut off the small rectangle along the bottom and apply Tear & tape on the end as shown below. Fold and adhere the sides of the box then fold the bottom flaps and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid.

Fill with a chocolate ball, pinch the top to close, then tie with ribbon. This is a quick & easy treat for table favors, coworkers, or to give out as you go through the drive thru to get your cup of coffee, etc. I had so much fun making these to go with all the different chocolate flavors.

E is for Evergreens for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #18

Welcome to my ABC Holiday Series. Evergreens are a holiday symbol and the focal point on my card today.

Stampin Up Carols of Christmas Card Idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I chose elements from this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge to create my card. It’s not often I make a card without a sentiment on the front. That’s one of the things I really enjoy about the Tic Tac Toe Challenge…. I try different things. Here’s this week’s board that inspired my card today:

img_7860

I made tic tac toe 2 ways…down the left row and across the bottom. It was easier than I thought! I hope you will pick 3 and play along this week!

Yesterday I shared a project I made using the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set. (If you missed that post you can see it HERE.) Today’s card uses the Card Front Builder Dies from the Carols of Christmas Bundle. I love that Stampin’ Up offers a 10% savings when you purchase the bundle!

Carols of CHristmas bundle

Today’s evergreen card is for my nephew. He recently purchased his first home and it’s in the woods with lots of trees and animals. He has been busy renovating his home so I made this card with a pocket for a gift card. Here’s the details how I made it.

I started with a 4 1/4 x 10 piece of Garden Green cardstock.  I scored it at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2.  I layered a piece of 4 x 4 DSP from Be Merry Designer Series Paper on the front.  I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut 3 circles.  I embossed the white piece using the Gently Falling Embossing Folder. I cut the bottom off the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper circle and adhered it to the white layer. I used the Card Front Builder Dies to cut the evergreen trees from Garden Green cardstock and the deer from Chocolate Chip cardstock. I love all the layers with texture and sparkle!

I used the grid paper to line up my card before adhering the circle layer to make sure it was 5 1/2″ tall so it would fit in a standard envelope. I wrapped the Quilted Christmas Ribbon around the front of my card and tied a simple knot.

I cut a 4 x 4 piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Carols Of Christmas. I added Tear & Tape as shown to hold my gift card and used a 1 1/4 x 4 piece of matching DSP on the inside of my card.

I love to decorate my envelopes to coordinate and tie it all together.
