T is for That’s the Tag

Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing the Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies and That’s the Tag Stamp Set found on page 23 in the Occasions catalog. I love to make my own tags for gifts but you can use these gorgeous tags for a card too!

I seem to always be in need of thank you notes. That’s the Tag stamp set has a variety of sentiments so you could use it for just about anything. I love the coordinating Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies…so detailed!

I started with my favorite for thank you notes…the Note Cards & Envelopes. I cut a strip 1 1/2 x 5 of black polka dots from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and centered it on the note card. The layers for the flower are So Saffron (3 x 3), Whisper White (2 3/4 x 2 3/4), and Basic Black (3 1/8 x 3 1/8). I centered the flower die on the So Saffron and Basic Black and ran it through the Big Shot using the Precision Base Plate. This made it so easy to remove the pieces from the detailed die. I only needed to save the center piece from the So Saffron die as I just needed the shape cut so I could inset the black flower outline. I like the way it looks like an inlaid puzzle. I also cut the leaves from the die using a scrap piece of Old Olive.

I adhered the white piece between the So Saffron and Basic Black and used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to glue the flower die inside the So Saffron. I glued the green leaves and center for the flower. I popped up the square layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals. These are my colors! My bedroom walls are painted So Saffron and I have a black & white toile duvet. I love the contrast! S is for Stylish Stems

Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing the Stylish Stems Framelits Dies and Special Reason Stamp Set featured on page 42 in the Occasions catalog.

I love fun fold cards! This pocket card is very simple to make. I started with a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 Sahara Sand as my card base. I scored it at 1 1/4 and 5 1/2. The fold is on the bottom and the 1 1/4 piece folds down on the front of the card. I didn’t adhere the sides as the ribbon holds it together. I just wrapped it around the card and tied a simple knot. I cut a 2 x 4 1/4 piece of Falling in Love Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a layer of Sweet Sugarplum that measures 2 1/4 x 4 1/4. The insert piece measures 3 1/2 x 5 (Very Vanilla) and 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 (Sweet Sugarplum). I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum ink.

Next, I stamped and cut my floral pieces and layered them on my card.

The Stylish Stems Framelits are unique and very versatile. Let me forewarn you… these were not on my original wish list as I felt I already had enough florals but, once I saw this video and all the different possibilities, I knew I had to add them to my collection. I always say, it has to be versatile for me to invest and this one definitely fits that bill! It may just be my new favorite floral! Check out this video (if you dare)! LOL

I love the projects Holly created in the video and I especially like how you can use the negative image from the die to create different projects.

I had so much fun playing and creating with the Stylish Stem Framelits. Here’s another card I made. The card measurements are the same but this one is made with the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, Silver Metallic Ribbon (from Sale-A-Bration), Silver Foil, and Silver Embossing Powder.

Here’s how I layered the floral using the Stylish Stem Framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits.

R is for Ribbon…and a NEW Ribbon Share

Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing the new ribbon. I love adding a touch of ribbon on my cards and projects! I used the silver metallic ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration catalog on my card today.

This ribbon is so soft and pliable. I like the silver with the black contrast and pop of melon mambo. My card base is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. The Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper measures 1 3/4 x 4 1/4 and is layered on a piece of 2 x 4 1/4 melon mambo cardstock. I wrapped the ribbon around this layer before attaching it to the card base with fast fuse adhesive. I stamped the sentiment in melon mambo ink and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. (These framelits are back in stock if you missed them when they first debuted.) The sentiment is layered on melon mambo cut with the Layering Circles Framelits and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added the heart embellishment from the Brights Enamel Shapes. Quick & Easy!
