Mini Post It Note Easel Holder

I’m back! I’m happy to be stamping and creating again! I’ve been helping my daughter move and get settled in to her new apartment. It was a challenge to pack all her stuff and both her cats and travel over 400 miles (with all the restrictions and safety precautions) but we did it! Stamping has been my therapy this week as I left a big part of my heart in Massachusetts!

Many teachers and students (my daughter included) are heading back to school this week.  It will certainly be a different learning experience for everyone! I have a quick & easy gift idea for teachers, students, coworkers, or friends.

I would be lost without sticky notes! I use them all the time! Combine them with the new Plaid Tidings Patterned Paper and the Apple Builder Punch and you have a little gift that’s sure to brighten someone’s day! Check out all the different patterns in the Plaid Tidings 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Pack.

I am having so much fun creating with these gorgeous plaids! I cut my paper in 2 inch strips so I could punch 6 apples from 1 (6 x 6) sheet. (I have many teacher friends I wanted to make these for!) I received one of these mini post it note holders from my friend, Susan Itell, several years ago.

I played around with the measurements and made mine a little different. You can check out Susan’s version and photo tutorial HERE. Here’s the measurements to make mine:

Fold and burnish the first 2 score lines forward then fold the last score line back.  Add adhesive just between the score lines where the flap will fold back. The Mini Sticky Notes will act as a stopper and hold the easel in place when open. Adhere the sticky notes close to the bottom.

I punched the stem and leaf from Pretty Peacock Designer Series Paper (2019- 2021 In Color Paper Pack) and adhered to the apple with Mini Glue Dots. I adhered the apple with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I couldn’t decide if I liked the apple with a bow from Linen Thread or Gold Cord. Which do you prefer? Here’s a closeup of each.

You can stamp any sentiment on the sticky note or write a personal message! I used the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set for my sentiments. You can make a bunch of these at a time! They really are quick & easy to do! I bet you can think of someone who could use one of these! Check back and see what else I made with this paper pack!

My Happiest Season for the Pals Blog Hop

Blog Hop Badge August 2020Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I love summer and the beach. It’s definitely my happy place! My card today is a slimline card created with Seaside Notions and the new Seabed 3D Embossing folder.

Stampin' Up! Seaside Notions and Well Written Dies slimline card and gift idea for any occasion - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

The colors of this card remind me of a seaside resort. Our summer has certainly been different this year. Instead of our usual family vacation I have to imagine I am walking along the shoreline and combing the beach for shells and sea glass. Here’s my “collection” of shells to go with my card.

I love to make cards and gifts to coordinate. The elegant sheer pool party ribbon was perfect to wrap up the Clear tiny treat box. I hope the recipient will enjoy the chocolate covered version of shells.

I heat embossed the shells and seahorse on Shimmery White using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder. I colored them using an Aqua painter and pool party ink then fussy cut them and adhered to my projects with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots. I even colored a few for the inside of the card. I love that there is a lot of room for a handwritten message or large stamped sentiment.

I am enjoying making these larger cards which fit perfectly in a #10 size business or “resume” envelope. You could make this card for any occasion using the Well Written Dies. These are so easy to adhere using the new adhesive sheets!

Yesterday I shared another slimline card with all the measurements, tips, and photo tutorial to assemble. If you would like to make this style card, click HERE for directions.

What’s your “happy place” or happiest season? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below! You can view the list of products I used to create this project below the line up!

Making It Slim with Ornate Style

Oh my Gosh!  I am totally on board with the latest craze of slimline cards! This may well be my favorite card I’ve ever made! (And it’s not even a fun fold!!! LOL)

Stampin' Up! Beauty Abounds and Ornate Style Slimline card idea for a friend - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I love to color!  I find it so relaxing and had so much fun coloring this card with my Stampin’ Blends. I got my color inspiration from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper. I made this card to fit in a #10 (business size) envelope. Because it is long I decided to use a bit of the DSP on the front of the envelope. How did I do coloring the card to match the DSP? (It’s really so easy with Blends!!!)

Stampin' Up! Beauty Abounds and Ornate Style Slimline card idea for a friend - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I wanted to use the Stitched Rectangle Dies and I learned this cool trick from Gina K (of Gina K Designs) when I attended one of her workshops a few years ago. Just cut and stamp two of the dies and add a strip across the middle to make it appear seamless.

Here’s the measurements for this slimline card:

Card Base (So Saffron): 8 x 9 1/4 scored at 4
Basic Black: (2) 3 1/8 x 8 3/8, 3 x 1 5/8, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 (to cut Scalloped Oval Die)
Shimmery White: Cut 2 Stitched Rectangles (3 x 4 3/8) *You will need to trim ~ 1/4″ to fit, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 to stamp and cut with Layering Ovals Die, 3 x 8 1/4 (inside)
So Saffron: 3 x 1 1/2 embossed with Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder
Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper: 2 3/4 x 4 1/8 (envelope)

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Ornate Style, Beauty Abounds (sentiment)  Papers:  Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper, Shimmery White, Basic Back, So Saffron  Inks: Memento Black, Stampin’ Blends in So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Mango Melody  Accessories:  Stitched Rectangle Dies, Layering Oval Dies, Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Dimensionals

What do you think of slimline cards? Do you like them or not? I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below. I love how this sentiment from Beauty Abounds works so well with this “big” card! I also like that sometimes you want/need more space to write and this size card is perfect.

Have a great day! Stay Safe! Stay well!
