Celebrate with Make a Medallion

img_0709

I can’t believe I waited until the last day of Sale-A-Bration to ink up the Make a Medallion Stamp Set!  I had so much fun layering these stamps with different color combinations.  Because this is a photopolymer stamp set, it is so easy to get perfect placement with each layer.  I used the In Colors cardstock and ribbon with the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folder… I love the debossed impression you get.  This card is really quick and easy to put together.  I started with a Whisper White card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/4.  I embossed my In Color layer which measures 4 x 5 1/4 and adhered that to the card base.  The stamped layer is a 2 7/8 square which is layered on a 3 x 3 piece of coordinating cardstock and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Here are my color combinations:

Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron

img_0712

Dapper Denim and Bermuda Bay

img_0710

Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry

img_0714

Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder

img_0711

Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie

Do you have a favorite color combination?  Check out this video from Stampin’ Up showing some different ways to layer with this stamp set.

As you can see from the video there are so many different ways to combine the stamps in this set! I didn’t even use the sentiments that fit nicely in the medallion! I like the way this stamp set looks with the Lovely Lace embossing folder which I used to decorate my envelopes.

A Desk Calendar

Stampin Up In Color desk calendars using Perfectly Wrapped stamp set and Blossom Bunch Punch - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I made 50 of these desk calendars for the World Card Making Day swap in Atlanta last weekend.  I had so much fun swapping and wanted to give something they could enjoy all year long to remind them of our “Happy Day”.  If you follow my blog you know that I sell my cards at a local shop to help raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.  If you would like more information about these desk calendars please email me (j.stark@myactv.net).   These would make great gifts for teachers, hairdressers, coworkers, or just about anyone. Just a little reminder to make each day a “Happy Day”.

Here’s a close up of each of the colors.

H is for Heat Embossing

Welcome to my ABC’s of Stampin’ series.  Today I am going to share the magic of heat embossing.  It is fun to do and really steps up your project with just a few simple steps.

img_4231

I have used this card design many times. (What can I say, I love circles!) This card is another example of taking a “formula” that works and going with it. The Layering Circles Framelits made it quick & easy to cut out the circles. I pulled my colors from the Designer Series Paper, Affectionately Yours.  I love the copper foil in the print so I used the copper embossing powder to heat emboss my sentiment from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set. I popped up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the In Color mini striped ribbon and just tied a simple knot and adhered the ribbon on the back. The Night of Navy cardstock is emobssed with the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to a Crumb Cake card base. I lined the envelope flap with matching DSP to complete my card. Happy Day!

Watch this quick video from Stampin’ Up! to see how to turn stamped images into glossy raised designs with heat embossing!

Remember those curvy keepsake apples I made during my Back to School week?  I heat embossed a tag with white embossing powder on black cardstock before giving them to my student helpers.

Here’s another card I made using the heat tool and gold embossing powder.  You can click on the image to see the details.
