I needed a masculine birthday card for a lot of people to sign. I loved Mary Fish’s card using the Birthday Blast stamp set (available Jan. 4th) so I adapted it to make mine.

This card uses one of my favorite color combinations…night of navy and very vanilla. I started with a piece of 7 x 10 night of navy cardstock and scored it at 5″. The gold foil measures 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 and the very vanilla layer is 6 1/4 x 4 1/4. I stamped my image twice in VersaMark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I added a gold metallic foil doily. The sentiment layer measures 1 1/2 x 5 and is heat embossed in gold. These colors are classic together and really make a statement with the gold embossing.
I needed to have plenty of room for everyone to write on the inside. I cut a piece of 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 very vanilla and scored it at 4 3/4. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and heat embossed the stars in gold.I adhered the right side to the inside of the card. I like the way it provides plenty of space for everyone to write a personal message.

I made a matching very vanilla envelope using the envelope punch board and I even heat embossed it in gold. I love how quick and easy it is to heat emboss and it really makes a big impact.
