Hershey’s Little Treats Jar

I love to make little treat holders! One of my favorite things to do during this pandemic has been to leave little gifts and treats in my friends (and neighbors) mailboxes. I used the Jar Punch to create these cute little treats that hold 3 Hershey’s Miniatures.

I used the pumpkin pie woodgrain pattern from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper to stamp the jack-o-lantern face from Harvest Hellos and punch it out with the Jar Punch. I punched 2 more jars from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered the DSP piece to one. I stamped the jar lid from Jar of Flowers on a strip of Smoky Slate and punched them out with the Jar Punch. I trimmed the lids and adhered to the jars. On the second jar I stamped the sentiment and spider from the Little Treats stamp set to go on the back of the treat holder.

To make the treat holder start with a 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. On the 4 3/4 side, score at 1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″. On the 2 3/4 side, score at 1 3/4. Fold along the score lines and cut along the score lines as shown below.

Add Tear & Tape or Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the skinny end and fold over to create the box. Fold in the bottom flaps and adhere with Liquid Glue. Adhere the punched jars to the front and back of the box. Tie a piece of twine around the jar lid on the front. Add a rhinestone jewel to the spider on the back. Fill with 3 Hershey Miniatures.

I haven’t been in a grocery store, restaurant, or shop since the middle of March! I have to say I miss browsing for cute little gifts and treats! We order everything online and have it delivered or curbside pick up. I am going to try to order the seasonal Hershey Miniatures to go in my jar holders. The grocery store substituted these. They all taste the same but I like the color coordination with the festive seasonal wrappers. 🙂

  1. These treat jars are adorable! Headed to my craft room to give these a try. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful creative cards and projects.

  2. Super cute! We are in the same camp of loving to make sweet goodies for treats! This is just adorable! Have a great day!!!!

  3. So cute. Darn, I don’t have the jar punch. Gotta get it now. I have a whole pack of pumpkin pie cardstock just begging to be used. Thanks for the directions. I am thinking some dog biscuits would be cute to pop in them for some of Teddy’s neighborhood pals.

      1. Thanks Pat! They are fun to make! I’m thinking mini candy canes would be cute for Christmas too!

  4. You always come up with such cute treat holders . I have to get this punch now for sure !
I`m with you in staying at home and not going out to busy places ,but I sure do miss shopping this time of the year for the cute candies and such .
    Love this project !!

  5. Thanks Sonny! I hear you about shopping! I really miss browsing Cracker Barrell this time of year! And the Lindt factory! Wouldn’t it be nice if we were like the President and they cleared the stores for us to shop! LOL

  6. This is very cute. I think I will make some for my neighbors. One thing though. I think the scoring directions are probably supposed to read as scoring the 4 1/4 side (not 4 3/4 side) at 1- 2- 3- 4. I think most folks would figure that out on their own, but just thought I would mention it.
I’m with you on not going to grocery stores or restaurants etc. The substitutes they make at the grocery don’t always work for me either. Crazy times!

  7. Think the measurements are off for the bottom flaps! Should it be 1″ instead of 1 3/4 inch? I made it and had to cut flaps so changed it to 1″ and worked perfectly! also instead of 4 3/4 one instruction went with 4 1/4 and I used that and it worked! I know it is just soooo very hard when writing these things down and appreciate all that you do to share your great projects!!!
