My Happiest Season for the Pals Blog Hop

Blog Hop Badge August 2020Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I love summer and the beach. It’s definitely my happy place! My card today is a slimline card created with Seaside Notions and the new Seabed 3D Embossing folder.

The colors of this card remind me of a seaside resort. Our summer has certainly been different this year. Instead of our usual family vacation I have to imagine I am walking along the shoreline and combing the beach for shells and sea glass. Here’s my “collection” of shells to go with my card.

I love to make cards and gifts to coordinate. The elegant sheer pool party ribbon was perfect to wrap up the Clear tiny treat box. I hope the recipient will enjoy the chocolate covered version of shells.

I heat embossed the shells and seahorse on Shimmery White using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder. I colored them using an Aqua painter and pool party ink then fussy cut them and adhered to my projects with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots. I even colored a few for the inside of the card. I love that there is a lot of room for a handwritten message or large stamped sentiment.

I am enjoying making these larger cards which fit perfectly in a #10 size business or “resume” envelope. You could make this card for any occasion using the Well Written Dies. These are so easy to adhere using the new adhesive sheets!

    1. Thanks Melinda! I am really missing the beach this summer! Hoping that surrounding myself with beachy colors will help! LOL

  1. So sea worthy. Pretty and so serene. I can just imagine you walking along the beach gathering shells and sea glass and dreaming of such as you created this lovely ensemble. So pretty and yummy for the recipient. Love this. I think this card has to be the best use of that embossing folder I have seen.

    1. Thanks Chris! You so know what I love!!! Hoping the beaches will be less crowded this fall and I can at least spend a little time absorbing it all!

    1. AAAhhhh Ann….don’t you wish we could just escape this craziness and sit on the beach?!!!
Thanks so much for you comment!

    1. Thanks Jennifer! I got the chocolate seashells at a little gift shop while travelling BEFORE our world changed! If I find them during my online searching I’ll let you know! I’m always looking for little gift ideas!

    1. Thanks Stesha! I spend way too much time shopping online, especially since we’ve been quarantined! The highlight of my day is waiting for the mail and UPS!!! LOL

  2. Now that I am retired from teaching, fall is my favorite time of the year; it used to be my most stressful time of the year. I love the cooler temps and the fall colors of ripe apples, pumpkins and the leaves on the trees. I love, early in the fall, harvesting the tomatoes from my garden. Nine or ten months of the year I go without vine-ripened tomatoes. The only thing I don’t like about fall is trying to get my feet, which have been in sandals for months, into closed shoes. My toes complain bitterly.

    1. I agree! I do love the change of seasons and am looking forward to fall. Hoping more than the leaves change this year!!! Would like to see this virus fall off the ends of the earth!!!!

  3. How perfectly Jeanie! The little chocolate shells decorated to match the card is just you through and through! The card is awesome and the gift charming! TFS.

  4. Jeanie this card is stunning!! So beautiful. It must have been challenging to emboss a slimline, but you pulled it off flawlessly.

    1. Thanks Melissa! I posted a tip with the directions how to make it “look” seamless when actually you emboss (stamp, or die cut) twice!! It’s actually really simple!!!

  5. So pretty, Jeanie! Love this stamp set and I need to play with it some more. The colors are lovely! I have to thank you for your great help this morning! It’s always nice to have two sets of eyes 😉

    1. Thanks Debbie! Happy to help you anytime! I know it is a lot of work for you and I appreciate it!!! I do love hopping and seeing everyone’s awesome creativity!

  6. Jeanie, where do you find all the adorable gifts for your beautiful packaging? Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Love the colors you used…the result is beautiful.

  7. Love this card and coordinating gift. Your “gift” is certainly creating a beautiful card and finding just the perfect special treat to go with it. You continue to be such an inspiration!

  8. Love this mood-evoking card, and the soft colors! I’ve looked at this set a hundred times, and you’ve convinced me that I need it! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Very classy card, love the color combo can be used for many things. Thanks for sharing your talents.

  10. Jeanie! Hello from Illinois in the Quad Cities! You have inspired me with your wonderful gifts and coordinating cards. I make a lot of gifts for my co-workers and stamping friends. Thank you for sharing all of your creativity and talents. I hope you and your family are well and staying healthy and safe!
