H is for Harvest Hellos

Welcome to my ABC Holiday 2019 Series! Throughout this series I will be sharing all kinds of cards, gifts, and ideas to help make your holidays as easy as ABC! Today I have two fun projects using the Harvest Hellos stamp set and coordinating Apple Builder Punch. As you will see, the punch can make more than just apples!

Stampin Up! Harvest Hellos Stamp Set and Apple Builder Punch gift and treat ideas - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

My daughter is coming home next week for her Fall Break (I am so excited!!) This is her last year at Georgia Tech and she has been so busy! She’s taking a graduate course and working on research. I am just so proud of her! She loves and misses her cats and I found this adorable cat pillow when I was out shopping one day. I was going to send it to her but it looked so cute in her bedroom I decided to keep it for a surprise for when she comes home. I had fun using the Apple Builder Punch to make this sweet coordinating treat.

Stampin' Up Harvest Hellos Bundle makes cute Kit Kat treat boxes using the Apple Builder Punch - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

My daughter loves Kit Kats and this little treat box is the “purrfect” size.

Here’s the details to make the box to hold a mini candy treat.

Materials & Measurements

  • Highland Heather cardstock: 2 x 9 1/2, scored at 1/2, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 6. 6 1/2.
  • Basic Black cardstock : scrap to punch Apple builder Punch and 2 “ears” using Ornament Punch

Assembly

  • Fold and Burnish score lines with a bone folder. Use the die from Merry Christmas (or other die/punch you may have) to cut opening for candy.
  • Add Tear & Tape Adhesive as shown. Insert candy bar, remove adhesive, and make sure box bottom and top are flat before adhering.

Stamp the sentiment inside using the Harvest Hellos Stamp set and Memento Black Ink.

  • Wrap the ribbon around and tie and bow in front to allow the cover to slide under to close.
  • Punch a scrap piece of black cardstock with the Apple Builder Punch and trim off the top.
  • Punch 2 ears using the Ornament Punch and a 3/4″ strip of cardstock. Color with the White Watercolor Pencil and adhere with Tear & Tape on the back. *Do not remove the adhesive back.
  • Add 3 strips of Silver Metallic Thread with a Glue Dot for whiskers. Cover in the middle with a nose cut from a scrap of Blushing Bride cardstock. Use Watercolor Pencil to draw mouth. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin Up Harvest Hellos and Apple Builder Punch candy bar treat holder idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I love to make little hostess gifts and I found the best smelling scented sachet for Fall ( I believe I got it at Cracker Barrel). I have been enjoying the aromas of ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. I should have bought more because this is going to be hard to part with! The package coordinates so well with the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper.

I don’t usually show you projects I’ve make with products that are retired (because I know how frustrating it can be to want to make something and can’t get what you need); however, one of my favorite retired tools is in the Clearance Rack and on sale! I thought the Envelope Punch Board was the best $20 I ever spent when I bought it (about 7 years ago).  You can SAVE 40% (on Clearance)! Price$20.00 $12.00  What a deal!!!!  It’s only available while supplies last so if you don’t already own one, BUY IT NOW! It is so easy to make all kinds of fun projects! The directions and measurements you need are right on the board so you don’t have to worry about losing them! I used the Envelope Punch Board to make this quick & easy packaging for this scented sachet. My package measured 4 1/2 x 6 1/2. I checked the measurements on the EPB and I needed a piece of 8 3/4 x 8 3/4 cardstock.  Well, that was a problem because our cardstock measures 8 1/2 x 11 (and I didn’t have a pack of the 12 x 12 for the color I needed) so I did what anyone would do…improvise.  I simply folded down the top of my package 1/2″ so now it would work with a 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock. That I could work with! I followed the directions on the EPB and punched and scored my cardstock. It’s so quick & easy! The tool you need is built right in and it even has a corner rounder built in! (Trust me, you will love this tool!!!)  I placed the package in the middle and folded it on the score lines to close it up like an envelope.  I made a belly band using a piece of 3 x 12 DSP and just wrapped it around the and secured it on the back with adhesive. I adhered a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to give it a border across the top and bottom on the front only. The best part was making the 3D pumpkin with the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set and Apple Builder Punch.  This set is available as a bundle for a 10% savings!

I stamped 3 pumpkins in Cajun Craze Ink on the same color cardstock and punched them out. I folded each in half and adhered together by just adhering one half to the next.  I stamped the stem with Soft Suede ink on the same color cardstock and punched it out then secured it to the back of the pumpkins with a glue dot. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow and fussy cut out. You could use the other leaf that goes with the punch but it is definitely an apple leaf and I wanted mine to go with the pumpkin. I adhered one behind the pumpkin and one in front with glue dots. Next, I cut a Crumb Cake Circle with the Layering Circles Dies and adhered the pumpkin. I looped a piece of Crumb Cake Ribbon from the Come To Gather Ribbon Combo Pack and secured to the back of the tag with glue dots Then popped it up on the belly band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how it turned out! Here’s peek how it looks when you remove the belly band and  open it. You can stamp and/or write a message inside. Just add a piece of cardstock under the package.

I got together with some friends this weekend and we made pumpkins.  We used many different fabrics, socks, hats, (basically anything we could find). We grabbed sticks out of the backyard for stems and burnt our fingers with the glue gun!  It was tons of fun with lots of laughs!  Here’s some photos.

Here’s one I made to go in my kitchen. I have leftover fabric from curtains all over my house  (I knew I was saving it for a reason! LOL). I can’t wait to make more!

  1. First, wowzers to your daughter….very impressive young lady! I love the surprise of the kitty gifts you are giving her. I am sure she will be super excited. Also, what a great hostess gift you made….definitely casing and your pumpkins are super adorable. You rock, Ms. Stark!

  2. Love the Cat Pillow ! Plus look how cute your Apple Kitties turned out ! Makes me PONDER (as Pooh says ) about what else can we do with the Apple Punch Bundle ?
Love the clear instructions on how to make the treat holders ….also the cute pictures from the Pumpkin Making Adventure !!

  3. Hurray for the apple builder punch! Who would have thought about making a cat with it. Certainly not me since I am a dog person. Teddy is sitting by me so I thought I had better throw that in. All your projects are so cute. Maybe you will have to be the hostess so you can receive your own gift, it looks better than it smells but then again they have some wonderful smelling gift items there! I can’t believe your daughter is in her senior year already! Amazing. She definitely will love her gifts.
