Tuesday Tip…Dies

If you are familiar with the Big Shot, you know that there are different types of dies…framelits, edgelits, and thinlits. Some die sets contain a mix of dies that cut only, dies that emboss only, and detailed dies that require extra accessories for best results.  With the new annual catalog, Stampin’ Up! decided to create a system that will help you more easily navigate how to build your sandwiches for different types of dies in the Big Shot.

There is a color-coded key on page 215 in the Annual Catalog that details the sandwich techniques needed for each die type. You can click HERE to view (and print) how die images are color coded to indicate which type of sandwich to use.  Refer to pages 215-221 in the Annual Catalog to see which sandwich you need to use for the dies you own.  *I highlight the dies I own in the catalog.  This makes it quick & easy to reference when I am placing an order or need to check how to build my sandwich.

Hope you find this new feature helpful. Here’s my Top 10 favorite NEW Dies..

All of these dies (except the Delicate Lace Edgelits) have coordinating stamp sets and can be purchased as a bundle for a 10% Savings! Click on any of the images above to view in my online store.

  1. Good Morning Jeanie! I hope you are feeling better. Great informative post. I’m always looking for condensed information I can easily grab. I’m looking forward to my share and I think your buffets are always “Suite” too.
    🙂

  2. I did not know this and found it very helpful. Always appreciative when tips are shared. Thanks Jeanie and I will be sending you an email.

  3. There is different sandwiches for the embossing folders too with color coding if it is a deeper one like the new Lovely Floral which they term 3D Dynamic textured EF instead of Standard textured southerners Climbing Vine. I had a customer get all confused as she thrown away her tabbed platform thinking the magnetic one would work. It didn’t. Anyway this is helpful too as well as the die info. All good to know. I will also show her the difference tomorrow with spritzing the Paper vs. Not while she uses mine to finish a card. Boy, we learn something new every day.

  4. Love the tips. Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to see what you do with those top ten favorite new dies.
