Crafting Forever Flip Fold Card

Crafting Forever is one of my favorite stamp sets in the annual catalog and I am thrilled it will carry over to the new catalog.  I have used it to make cards, magnets, bookmarks, and many gifts.  I also love to stamp my envelopes with some of the different stamps and sentiments from this set. It was the perfect choice for my swap cards for OnStage.

If you follow my blog you know I love fun fold cards. I used the “artsy” paper from Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, my Stampin’ Blends, and several different stamps from the set for my flip fold card. Here’s some photos showing how it opens as well as how the flap adheres on the back.

I had so much fun stamping and coloring these cards.  I chose my colors for the card base from the colors in the designer series paper: crushed curry, emerald envy, and flirty flamingo.

These are pretty simple to make.  When I am mass producing I like to do everything in steps.  I cut all my cardstock, then I stamped, punched, and colored.  Final step was fussy cutting the little stamp blocks and assembling. Here’s the measurements I got from Rachel Tessman:

Card Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored in half at 4 1/4, scrap to punch 2 1/4″ circle

Basic Black: 4 1/4 x 3 to layer DSP,  1 1/2 x 7 scored and folded at 4 1/4 for the flap

DSP: 4 x 2 3/4

Whisper White: 4 x 5 1/4 for inside , scraps to stamp and punch two 2″ circles and block

I stamped the sentiments and images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink so I could color the images with my Stampin’ Blends. To assemble, adhere the DSP to the basic black layer and adhere to card base. Wrap the flap around the card and make sure it is centered on the front before adhering the flap on the back of the card.  Layer the stamped image on the circle and adhere to the front flap.  Open the card and adhere the sentiment over the circle on the inside. To keep the card closed, adhere the block image with a Stampin’ Dimensional so the flap can tuck in slightly.

  1. Was so happy to receive this card from you as a swap in Hartford. While I can look at the actual card in order to CASE, I appreciate that you posted dimensions and directions. [I told you before, I have an entire “Jeanie File” of designs and explanations LOL] Great use of this DSP and stamp set. Gotta get busy finishing up some of my stash, so thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Oh LInda, I LOVE your card and can’t wait to CASE the fold! You do such beautiful work! I have saved the last card I got from you too!! You have an eye for color combinations too!!! I wish we lived closer and could stamp together. Perhaps when I am in Massachusetts this summer we can get together!

  2. What a neat card! Great use of DSP and clever way to open it. All three colors look fantastic…hard to choose just one. Enjoy the day.

  3. I love your swap card Jeanie! I always enjoy a great fun fold card. I’ll definitely be CASEing this. (Gotta get the stamp set first!)

  4. Yeppir, gotta CASE this one too! I think I have only used this set once after I ordered it. Love the inside by the way. I love the fun fold too.. Great coloring. I plan on using the little scissors that are a part of the apron die set too. Although I am a green loving girl, I think I love the Crushed Curry one just a smidge better! I like the wider border on the front then the little border of black with the DSP. Thanks for the measurements. Maybe I need to make these and put them in with the customer orders. I had better check to see how much DSP I have left of that one! Thanks for a another great card!
