Welcome to my ABC “Sale-A-Bration” Series! This series showcases products from the 2018 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures. Today it is all about family, friends, and fruit with the Tutti -frutti Suite.
Growing up I would go blueberry picking with my dad and 5 siblings. My dad would tie buckets around our waste so both hands were free for faster picking! My mom would bake homemade pie and all kinds of blueberry treats. YUM! I’m not much of a pie baker but I do enjoy making homemade breads and jam. Strawberry season will be here before you know it and I love to make strawberry jam! The Tutti-Frutti suite makes it quick & easy to create tags and gift enclosures to go with homemade goodies (or store bought favorites)!
This little gift card is for Sister Corda’s roommate. After Sister Corda passed away, I have been spending Monday evenings with her roommate. We chat, have dinner together, and watch a few episodes of Longmire on Netflix. Sister Al loves blueberry jam and enjoys some with her bagel every morning. I bought some of my favorite Stonewall Kitchen Wild Maine Blueberry Jam to give to her.
I love to make note cards to go with gifts. To make this simple note card start with a 3 x 6 piece of cardstock and score it at 3″. I added a layer of Night of Navy cardstock that is a 2 3/4″ square. Then I added a piece of 2 x 2 5/8 DSP and some gingham ribbon. The sentiment is from the Fruit Basket Stamp Set, cut out with the new 1 1/8 Scallop Circle Punch, and layered on a 1 1/4 punched Night of Navy circle. I popped the sentiment up with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Quick & easy!
Here’s a quick 1 minute video showing how to make another quick & easy 3 x 3 card using products from the Tutti-frutti Suite!
I will be heading to Hartford, Connecticut in two weeks for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage convention. I can’t wait to get together with “my people”! Six of us rented a historic home just outside of Hartford so we could be together for a little extended vacation. We are planning to stamp, shop, sightsee, and I’m sure chat until the wee hours of the morning. It is always so much fun when we get together! I made these little gifts using the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper for my “Stampin’ Sisters”.
I got this idea from Sam Donald (Pootles.co.uk). I changed mine up a bit and used coordinating DSP rather than washi tape. I bought several different fruit pens and had so much fun making these that I just couldn’t stop! I wanted to try different color combinations and ribbons. I ordered the fruit pens from Amazon. I love the way they coordinate with our DSP! I love the pens with the bauble fruit charms (above) but I also love the way the DSP and ribbon pictured below can serve double duty as a bookmark. Two gifts in one!
I love how they turned out! For the first set of pens (with the charms) I used a smidge smaller than 2 x 8 cardstock, 1 3/4 x 6 DSP in the center, and (2) 1 3/4 x 3/4 strips on the top and bottom. These fit in Stampin’ Up!’s 2 x 8 Cellophane Bags. You get 50 sturdy bags for just $3.00!
I used a sightly smaller piece of cardstock for the other pens (a smidge less than 2 x 7) and cut 3/4″ off the top of the cellophane bags. The DSP measures the same. I used the 1/4″ hole punch to punch an opening for the ribbon. I fussy cut the fruit from the DSP. (You could stamp and punch fruit using the Fruit Basket stamp set and Itty Bitty Punch Pack.) I used glue dots to adhere the fruit pieces to the cellophane bags.
Would you like to receive one of these Tutti-Frutti pens? I am sending one to everyone who places an online order of $50 or more with me in March. It’s my “party favor” and will be included in my birthday party thank you kit for ordering this month! I appreciate each and every order and love sending little thank you gifts and card kits to show my appreciation. I will also be giving one away to a random winner on my blog. Leave a comment sharing something you enjoy doing with friends or family members and you could be the lucky winner.
Yesterday I showcased all 7 suites from the Occasions catalog and asked my readers to share which one was their favorite suite. If you missed that post you can view it HERE. From the comments it looks like Petal Passion is the most popular for it’s versatility and great sentiments! I enjoyed reading all the wonderful comments about the other suites as well. Like me, some of you liked several and have a hard time choosing a favorite!
I have been making so many projects lately using the products in the Tutti-Frutti Suite! You can view previous projects I have shared HERE or HERE.

“To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…in this we make a difference.”
These are so adorable and clever! Love the pens with the charm….your ladies will scream with delight with their special treat. Trutti Frutti is such a fun DSP to use. My friends and I go to the strawberry festival and the apple festival in Peddlers Village in Lahaska, PA every year….great shops, good food and really good sangria! 😋
You are so clever! The pens are such a wonderful idea and match perfectly. I love your packaging ideas–for this and other things. Thank you for sharing your creativity!
I have a good friend coming for a visit for one week at the end of May…we will do some touring here, but my favorite thing to do…in the evening, with a glass of wine, just catching up and talking!
Auuugh! Your post makes me so jealous that I won’t be joining all of you Stampin’ sisters in April! You are going to have so much fun! I adore these little pen holders – what a great idea. Just like the comment above me, I too have a long-time friend coming to visit the end of May. We’ll be up late with a glass of wine and our old high school photo albums, laughing and catching up after 40+ years!
It looks like you had loads of fun creating with this versatile dsp. I absolutely love it. I so wish it would stick around a little longer.
Your treat for Sister Al is so yummy – she will adore the jam and card. I loved Longmire!
The pens and holders are so cute, both styles. I can’t believe how they match so well. I have my Tutti Fruitti stamp set (came today) and I am going to whip out a couple of thank you cards to place in with their orders. Boy, I am with Karen H. – I am so jealous that I am not going too. Oh well maybe I will go with Mike to Houston for a conference he is going to in May. Unfortunately most of my friends have moved away or something. Maybe I will E-mail my old boss and ask her if she would like custody of me for the week during the day time. Anyway, everyone will love their goodies – now who gets what?
LOVE the fruit pens! I just ordered mine from Amazon so I could make them. You’re so creative!
