Q is for Quilted Christmas

Welcome back to my Holiday ABC series!  Boy did I get off track! As you all know, life throws us some curve balls and like I told my daughter, “Life is all about how you handle Plan B”.  (As a Pre K teacher, I feel like I am the queen of Plan B!  LOL)  Today’s card is from the Quilted Christmas Suite.

Stampin Up Christmas Quilt and Butterfly Basics Birthday card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I love to take a Christmas stamp set and use it for different occasions. Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up! showcasing this suite.

Sadly, the Christmas Quilt Stamp Set and Quilt Builder Framelit Dies are retiring. You can still purchase this set as a bundle and save 10%. This set is great for more than Christmas! I have many quilting friends and know they would enjoy receiving cards or projects with this set. (I’m thinking a framed sampler would be beautiful made with this set!) You can choose to stamp the quilt design or use the framelits to piece the quilt together with cardstock.  This is such a versatile bundle!

I like the window feature on this card. There are so many color combinations you could do!  I wanted to try something different that I hadn’t done before and I think this color combination (Dapper Denim, Pool Party, and Lemon Lime Twist) looks great together.  This card would work well for other occasions too ….thinking of you, get well, etc. Here’s the details how I made it:

The card base is a piece of 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 Dapper Denim scored at 5 1/2 for a top fold card.  I used the Quilt Builder Framelits and the magnetic base plate to cut the design out of the front of my card with the Big Shot.

I stamped the stitched quilt in Dapper Denim ink on a piece of 3 x 3 Whisper White. The photopolymer stamps make it so easy to see where to stamp.  I stamped the designs in Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist.

This piece is layered on a 3 1/4 square of Dapper Denim.  I lined it up behind the cut out piece, added liquid glue on the back, then closed the card to adhere in place. I thought it needed something more so I cut the small flower in Dapper Denim with the frame piece then cut another outline piece in Pool Party.  I used a scrap piece of Lemon Lime Twist to cut the flower for the middle.

These pieces are adhered with glue dots on the front of the card.  I stamped the sentiments from Butterfly Basics in Dapper Denim ink on the front and inside of the card.  The finishing touch was wrapping the striped Grosgrain ribbon and tying a bow. This card is for a quilting friend of mine who has a December Birthday. I hope she likes it.  I embossed the envelope using the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The idea for today’s card was featured in Stampin’ Success, a quarterly magazine for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.  I like getting that extra “idea book” along with weekly emails from Stampin’ Up! with tips, techniques, product information, etc.  Just another perk of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  If you would like to join my team in the new year there is a great offer coming Jan. 3rd (during Sale-A-Bration).  Contact me and we can set up a time to chat. Personally, I don’t know why everyone doesn’t sign up to be a demonstrator…it is so simple (just choose $125 worth of product you want and only pay $99), there is no obligation to sell, you can just buy for yourself at a discount for at least 4 months (then if you meet the minimum quarterly sales requirements you stay active for another 3 months), and there’s no penalty if you just get your customized starter kit and never order another thing. You get to keep all the extras in your kit for FREE!!!…  including a FREE Paper Pumpkin kit, 2 Free Stamp Sets, and the extra $26 in FREE product you get when you place your order….plus catalogs, business resources, etc!!! This is one of those deals that may sound too good to be true but, trust me, it’s for real! Over 90% of all Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are hobbyists and just joined to enjoy the discount! You can too!! Come join the fun with me!

Have a wonderful day!
