‘Tis the season of giving! I love to create my own packaging for gifts and when it comes to giving monetary gifts (which seems to be the preference for teenagers and young adults)  it’s fun to add a little surprise element. Hopefully this little box does just that! This “never ending money box” is fun and easy to make with just a few supplies…Simply Scored Scoring Tool, adhesive, and washi tape (and $ of course).  You can embellish the box as much or as little as you like.  Pretty ribbon and a tag do the trick !

My son and two nephews are going up north skiing and snowboarding after Christmas so I know they can use a little extra cash.  I thought the gorgeous snowflake paper and sentiment from Merry Little Labels would be perfect for their boxes. It certainly doesn’t look like your typical monetary gift. Take a peek inside…

Washi Tape holds the bills together and you just fold in thirds accordion style to make it look like a lot more $.  I heat embossed the label with Silver Embossing Powder and punched another label using the Silver Glimmer Paper. You can use these boxes for more than just money! I used the Large Letters Framelits to monogram my other box. You could fit jewelry, small candles, etc. in the box.

There’s so many possibilities for how you can decorate these boxes. Yesterday I shared a fun set of “dice” boxes I created for my husband’s birthday. They look totally different from today’s boxes yet they were made the same way.

  1. Perfect idea for MY nieces and nephews this Christmas. too. More fun than a gift card, I think. You deserve a box filled with Benjamins for all your creativity!! (Hope Santa is paying attention…!)

  2. Love these boxes! I just looked at yesterday’s box (Happy bday Carl) and had just made one myself for my husband last month. Great minds think alike. These boxes are perfect for gift giving money and I agree with Linda….you need a box filled with benji’s too. Enjoy the day!

  3. Oh so pretty and oh so fun! What a cool idea. Love the decorations and what a complete surprise that it is the same as the dice! The tags and punch are high on my wish list as well as the pack of paper you used. Fun idea of folding the money too. Great job as usual! Gotta hit yesterday’s and then get back on the hop…..

    1. No Amy… this box is a 2 1/2″ cube so a standard plastic gift card would not fit. Use the stocking die with the pillow box…fits perfect in that! Hint…coming for S!
