Art Inspired Thanks To You

Stampin Up Seasonal Layers Fall Card and Candy Treat Idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Last month I visited the beautiful Botanical Gardens in Atlanta, Georgia. It was inspiration overload! Today’s project was inspired by the wall art pictured below.

The leaves reminded me of the detailed die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  The Colorful Seasons Bundle is such a versatile set with stamps and dies that can be used throughout the year.

I had planned to adhere the leaves on white cardstock like the inspiration piece but preferred the dark background for my card.  I used a strip of Early Espresso cardstock and added some copper washi tape to frame them.

I cut several detailed leaves from Glossy White cardstock and sponged each of them with several different inks in fall colors. This was quick, easy, and fun! I didn’t overthink it and just quickly dabbed with sponge daubers. I love the shine and thickness of the glossy white cardstock! I attached them to the card using Glue Dots so I could curl the ends to add dimension.

Stampin Up Floral Phrases and Seasonal Layers Fall Thank You Card Idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

The sentiment from Floral Phrases is one of my favorites for thank you notes.

I love to give little gifts with my thank you cards and these chocolate Rolo’s wrapped in copper foil coordinate perfectly! I cut a piece of 2 x 2 Early Espresso cardstock and added the washi tape across the top and bottom to match the card.  I slipped this piece inside the front of the box then adhered the leaf on the outside of the box with a Glue Dot.  I wrapped the box with some copper trim and tied a bow on top. Simple and sweet!

I added another leaf on the front of the envelope to coordinate with the card.

  1. Jeanie, first let me say your projects are stunning. Your use of metallics is breathtaking. Secondly I want to say how happy it makes me to know that our beautiful Atlanta Botanical Garden inspired you. It is truly a magical place.

  2. Simply stunning! I adore that early espresso back ground. It truly makes the leaves pop.I am so happy to see that you figured out how to get your products in there… It looks perfect! Great job… Again!

  3. Gorgeous! Just screams “FALL”! How nice of the Rolo people to use copper foil so we can co-ordinate
    so well…Lol!

  4. Phantasmagoria – if that is a word. Fancy for fantastic if you ask me from the 70s or 80s. Whatever, simply stunning is “adequate” as well. I have done that technique on leaves but didn’t have such a glorious result as you did. Mine were – nice. Anyway, the espresso piece really makes them pop. That treat holder is pretty darn special too and to house matching candy – be still my beating heart! Well done my friend! I can read your blog any time and sometimes several times! I like your Product List too, well done on that end as well. I think I need to pull out that Floral Phrases set again, as I sure did not remember that thanks stamp and it is really a good one!
