A Treat from the Sea

My daughter loves sea glass and really has an eye for finding these gems at the beach. She hit the jackpot this summer when we were in Massachusetts. (One day alone she found over 40 pieces!)

On our way home from Georgia we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for dinner. I am always on the lookout for different little candies and small gifts. This bag of candy caught my eye and I knew it would be the perfect little gift to send to my daughter.

I love to make little bags or boxes for gifts and the gem print from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper was perfect for my sea glass candy. I used the Popcorn Box Thinlits to make my treat holder.

I cut the die out 4 times…2 from Soft Sky cardstock, and 2 from the DSP.  I adhered the DSP to the cardstock using the bold tip end of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue before adhering my box together. I made a bow using the gorgeous Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and cut the gem from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. Check out this video to see how to put the popcorn box together!

As you could see in the video, you can make so many different boxes for so many occasions using the dies in this set. These dies are so versatile and make it quick & easy to create fun projects!

  1. Oh wow, that is a great find on the candy and then your treat holder is awesome! Love the little gem tag as well. You are just so clever. I found some watermelon sour candies and was going to send them to a friend who is having a hard time. Good thing I decided to taste them first – they were so awful as well as ugly! Oh well, at least I didn’t send them to her and then she would have to make up something not to hurt my feelings! Your daughter will love yours, I bet.

    1. Oh dear, perhaps I should try them first! I didn’t even think of that! I bought some other fun stuff too! Did you get your watermelon candies from Cracker Barrel?

  2. Dollar General for the watermelon candy with some off brand so I didn’t pay much. Yours will be good I would wager especially since they came from Cracker Barrel and I don’t think they have things that would be yucky. Besides I bet you paid more than $1. Oh wait, my receipt is right here and they were only 50 cents on sale. I did’t know that so that makes it a bit more tolerable! But, maybe you could sneak out one to try just in case you are worried! 😉
