Yesterday I shared a simple card I made for my sister inspired by a photo of us. You can see that post HERE. Today’s card is a fun fold Shadowbox using the same elements.
It’s no secret that I love fun folds. They are so much easier to make than it looks. I have made this shadowbox fun fold before but I learned a new way from a fellow demonstrator, Julie DiMatteo. Start with a piece of cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11. Score on the long side at 1/2, 1, 4 1/2, 5, 5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 10, 10 1/2. Fold along the score lines back and forth accordion style. I stamped the sand and grasses along the bottom of the front of the card much like I did yesterday. Then I used the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the center. I stamped and sponged the water on the inside part before adding Tear & Tape to adhere the card together.
A simple fun fold that’s quick & easy to make. I’m loving this High Tide Stamp Set! Here’s both cards side by side. Which one do your prefer, simple or stepped up?
Stamp Sets: High Tide, So Many Shells Ink: Dapper Denim, Sahara Sand, Old Olive Papers: Soft Sky, Sahara Sand Tools & Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Glue Dots, Tear & Tape

Wish I were relaxing in one of those chairs right now!! Love the shadow box interpretation of what was already a pretty amazing card. The ink daubing on the sky and the artful stamping of the grass is just perfect in my book. Thanks for the inspiration.
Both cards are fantastic!!
Both are so pretty ! I feel like I could wade in that beautiful water !
I love it, Jeanie! Confession – I don’t have either of these stamp sets (I know!!!) and now I really want them. Thanks, friend! 🙂 These cards are fantastic!
I could use a beach day, Jeanie. This card and a little imagination and I’m there!! I used this card on a special Christmas card for my grandson last Christmas and he loved it. Your fold cards are always awesome. Enjoy your day!
Wow, Jeanie! I think both cards are winners but today’s is extra special because of the funfold. Love your inspiration for the card. Are you going to give one to your sister? I think she would love it!!
I can’t decide which I like the best – both are oh so fun and oh so special. I feel like I need a big container of sun screen just looking at them and sunglasses and probably a hat etc. I burn to a crisp just like bacon! Though this year I seem to have a little bit of a golden hue with the red on my face and arms. But, I think I could stand vegging out in one of those chairs sipping lemonade and enjoying the view. Hey, what gives no glasses of lemonade on the cards! Both cards are just wonderful Jeanie!
Gotta’ try that fun fold! Thanks for sharing.
Both cards are gorgeous Jeanie. First one, looks like it could be morning it’s a little brighter. The second looks like it could be at dusk, just a shadow,
🙂
Jeanie…I Love them Both! Thanks for sharing Julies Technique! I am going to try this both ways too! Thanks for all you ideas!
