Fun Fold Swap Card from Linda

I’m excited to share another beautiful card from my Fun Fold Card Swap! You are in for a treat as I share each of these cool fun folds. The collection of cards I’ll be sharing might not have current Stampin’ Up! products, but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, and techniques. Let the inspiration continue…

Linda made a Corner Fold card showcasing the gorgeous Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper. Often I find I like the pattern on one side or the other but, with this pack, I love them all!!!

When I first opened Linda’s swap card I thought, “WOW! I wish I could keep this.” Then it was like my wish was magically granted as enclosed was another card…one for me! I have not made this fun fold before so I love having an example (not to mention a beautiful and sweet card). I have to say I am overwhelmed and touched by all the kindness, inspiration, helpful tips, etc. that so many of you that follow my blog have shown me and each other. To quote Mary Ann (from yesterday’s comments), “I love our blog family!”

I love everything about this card…the cool fun fold, the color combination, the sentiment, the font, and how Linda added the extra detail on the inside piece of the fold. Now I just need to learn how to make it so I can share all the details with you!

Here’s the card Linda sent me. It shows another example of the corner fold with a horizontal orientation this time. Linda used 2 more patterns from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  It certainly is lovely!

Here’s a picture showing how the fold looks on the inside.

I love how Linda used the die from Lovely Words Thinlits to make the inside sentiment layer! I will definitely be CASing this one!!!

The Lovely Words Thinlits has 3 dies in the set.  There are a variety of ways to use them. Linda has shown two different ways on her cards… cutting the word out from the shape like she did on the front of her swap card and cutting the die to use as an inside panel like she did on my card. The dies coordinate with the Layering Ovals and Layering Circles Framelits for even more versatility.

Please leave a comment below to let Linda know how much you love her fun fold creation (especially if you are the lucky person who received this in the swap). Thanks again to everyone who participated!  It was so much fun getting “Happy Mail”! Check back tomorrow for another fun fold swap card. I plan to showcase all of the cards while I am away on vacation so you will continue to be inspired!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Beautiful, Linda! The colors are so vibrant and I love the fold. Awesome idea on the inside of Jeanie’s card. You and Jeanie both rock!

  2. I was the VERY lucky recipient of this card!!!! It is an exceptional card both with design and quality! The front made me so happy and then I opened it and found the inside was also amazing! I love the colors! I don’t have this DSP but you bet I am going to have to order it! The envelope was the icing on the cake! A perfect package! Huge thanks to Linda for sharing and to Jeanie for organizing!!!! I agree with Mary Ann’s “I love our blog family”!!!

    1. Oh my sweet friend, thank you for the generous praise! So honored to have been “playing” with such talented designers.

  3. How wonderful. I think Fun Folds was my favorite ABC series. This is another one I will have to try. Your colors are very vibrant. I didn’t think to send an envelope, nor a Thank You to Jeanie. Linda, you are very thoughtful and I hope to remember such touches in the future too.
    🙂

    1. It is absolutely not necessary to send me a a thank you! I love just being able to share the gorgeous cards and talent (especially while I am away). It is as much a treat for me to see these cards as it is for you! I just had to share both of Linda’s cards as it showed versions of the same fun fold and I had never showcased that fold before. I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to make extra cards to participate in the card swap.

      1. Oh you are so funny Jeanie . . . everyone likes to get Happy Mail, even bloggers!!!! 🙂 Trust me, as you know . . . I was lucky to get that one swap card made and out! Ha. Ha.

    2. I’m with you, Nancy. Fun Folds was a fabulous ABC series. I learned so much and am enjoying all the details of the fabulous swap exchange. Can’t wait to see the rest of the cards!

  4. OH MY ! This is soooooo inspiring ! Linda , you have made a version of a card I have done before BUT yours is a lot simpler and that dsp is gorgeous ! That is the reason I LOVE to get PAPER SHARES because I have some of all and I have this paper !! PLUS….just look at the inside of Jeanie`s card HOW CUTE !! LOVE IT !!
Thanks Miss Jeanie for your plans to give us the directions ! I think I have the basics BUT you always simplify for us VISUAL groupies !! GIGGLE !!

    1. Oh Sonny, I’d hardly call my work inspiring, but you are so kind to say so. I’m sure I cased the idea from SOMEone~my family calls me the Queen of CASE~but whatever, I love playing with paper and it’s the support of people like you who make me do swaps like Jeanie’s. So lucky to be a small part of her blog family.

  5. Wow Linda both cards are so fun! I think we need directions from either you or Jeanie as it can’t be as simple as cutting the one side and gluing on the matted square. However, you did them, I sure like them! Both are so fun and special! Love the papers you used. Now I need to get those Lovely Word Thinlets which I had convinced myself I didn’t need. WRONG they are so something I would use – especial the HUGS and the Lovely, not so much if at all. Anyway, your cards are both so special, love them! Great job!

    1. Thank you, Chris, for your kind and enthusiastic words! You Tube has a lot of Corner Fold card tutorials. I remember one by Rachel Tessman that I think was easy to follow. Trust me, I don’t do difficult!
Can’t wait to see the remainder of the swap field; I was so honored to participate with Jeanie’s rock star followers!
