Everyone Needs A Friend Like You

Today’s card is the result of several factors…I didn’t clean up my craft area after creating yesterday’s cards, mint macaron was everyone’s favorite choice from yesterday’s comments, I love this sentiment and font from Suite Sentiments, and I have some pretty amazing friends! I love this card inspired by Olga Cavanaugh.

Stampin Up Suite Sentiments Friend card idea- Jeanie Stark StampinUp

The glimmer paper, mint macaron cardstock,  Succulent Garden DSP and framelits were just sitting on my desk.  I cut the glimmer paper with the So Detailed Thinlits Dies using my Big Shot and the Precision Base Plate.  I attached it to the mint macaron cardstock using Tear & Tape along the top of the die.  Then I cut a piece of DSP 2 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhered the ribbon with Tear & Tape before adhering the DSP to the card base.

I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron ink and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut a mat in Mint Macaron.  I attached this layer to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I made a triple bow with mint macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon and attached it with a glue dot.

*UPDATE: Click HERE for information on how I made the triple bow.

  1. Wow, as soon as my Mint Glimmer Paper arrives, I’m going to make this card. It is gorgeous! Please tell me how you make that bow!

  2. Triple bow, be still my heart! This is just magnificent! Plus add all the comments from all the others. WOW!!!!!!!

  3. Ok…thank you all for the kind words! There isn’t a whole lot I can say about the triple bow. I have a little wooden “bow maker” that a husband of one of the ladies in card club made for each of us. It is just 2 pegs in a base and I wrapped the ribbon around it 3 times (to make the triple bow) then up through the middle to tie. I will attempt to take some photos and will update the post if I am successful. I will also do a little investigating as there must be one like this that you can purchase somewhere as I’m sure he used a prototype. Stay tuned….

  4. So pretty ! Soft and elegant ! I bought one of those little bow maker doozies from Debbie Henderson . Her husband makes them .Her blog is Debbie`s Designs . Your bow is a Wowie !!!

  5. Help: I must be doing something wrong. I followed your instructions for the So Detailed die with the glimmer paper. It took hours to get all the ‘leftovers’ out. Your cards are beautiful and I saved them until I got my newest die. Thanks, Ninamarie

    1. Oh dear! Did you use the Precision Base Plate? My sandwich is the base plate on the bottom, thin die adapter, Precision Base Plate, Glimmer Paper (with the glimmer side down against the plate), then the die, clear plate on top. After you run it through the big shot I use the Die brush to roll along the die a couple times and it comes out like magic. I may have to push a few little pieces but that’s it! I’ve made about 20 of these cards and they have all come out beautiful. Another tip…try running the die through twice…go back and forth through the big shot to get a good cut. I am sure the tension may be a little different on each big shot but that should do it! Let me know if this helps. If you use the precision base plate it should really come out easily!

      1. Thank you so much for your help. I did it and love the results. I ‘CASE’d your wonderful cards. Thanks, Ninamarie
