Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are CASE’ing (Copy And Share with Everyone) a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration from which to choose. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I CASE’d the box found on page 40 in the Occasions catalog which uses the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and Happy Celebrations Stamp Set. I had someone ask about this box after I featured some cards I made using this set (H is for Happy Celebrations). I had no idea how this box was made so I called Stampin’ Up! We have the most awesome demonstrator support team! I owe a big thanks to Ben who reached out to the designer and emailed me a photo with dimensions. I was able to take it from there to make these boxes to share with you today. Here’s the photos Ben sent me.
I have a few tips and lots of photos to share with you. I always look for ways to cut my paper to get the most from each piece and this project uses just 1 sheet of cardstock to make each box. First I cut my cardstock at 6 1/4 x 11. I like to save steps so before I cut again, I scored this piece with the short end across the top at 1 1/4 on each end.
Next, I rotated my cardstock and cut 4 pieces at 2 1/4 x 6 1/4. I used the strip that was left from my initial cut (2 1/4 x 11) and cut it at 2 1/4 x 6 1/4 so I had 5 pieces. (The last piece needed to be scored at 1 1/4 on each end like the others.) Then I scored all 5 pieces at 1/2″.
I cut the ends off the 1/2″ pieces and notched the middle piece on each. I stamped 4 pieces using the Happy stamp from Happy Celebrations using Pacific Point ink for a tone on tone look. *Make sure you stamp 2 pieces with the flap at the bottom and 2 pieces with the flap at the top so the words will be facing the right way when you assemble the box.
Next step is to emboss. *I used washi tape so my emobssing folder wouldn’t move from where I placed it over the stamped letters. I used Tear & Tape to adhere the pieces together.
Overlap the flaps to close the box then adhere the top of the box together. I added some silver ribbon and attached the stamped the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Here’s the box featured in the catalog along with mine.
I couldn’t stop with just one box when there’s 2 embossing folders in the pack! I changed it up for the Celebrate box.
For the Happy box I stamped first then embossed. For this box I embossed the panels first then stamped. I love this look and it was quick & easy to do. I just embossed 2 of the panels and used designer series paper on 2 of the panels. The DSP is from the Regals Paper Stack and measures 3 3/4 x 1 3/4. The colors I used to stamp over the debossed impression are Smoky Slate, Pool Party, and Night of Navy. I created a banner with a 1″ strip of Pool Party cardstock and punched it with the Triple Banner Punch. The heart is from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits. The sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes is stamped in Night of Navy ink. I attached the banner to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added Whisper White Mini Pompom Trim along with some silver ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
I hope you liked today’s project. Subscribe to my blog for more card and gift giving inspiration. Come back after you finish the hop and check out this video from Stampin’ Up! to see some of the different ways to combine these stamps to make cards for so many different occasions.

Wow….your box is great! I love both variations and thanks for giving the instructions, too. You rock Jeanie! Enjoy the day!
I love Bog Hop days! SO much inspiration!
Beautiful projects, Jeanie!
Thanks Michelle! I seem to be on a box making kick lately! 🙂
Jeanie, not only are you brilliant but you are also one determined gal! I remember the discussion about the box and you made it happen! I love them both!
Thanks to Ben’s help from Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Support! I think I should send him one of my boxes! 🙂 Oooh, I just had an idea!!! Off to create!
Holy Cow ! This is great ! These boxes are so cute and thank you for going the extra mile to get instructions (I LOVE LOVE Demo Support ) Thanks for the pictures !
Super fun !!
I have to say Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Support is the absolute BEST! They help with anything and everything! They have the “there’s no stupid question” attitude. 🙂
I love this box! Can we make it next time we get together????
Sounds like a plan!!! Come on over!
Wow! I love your boxes!! Thanks for the directons too!
Thank you Beth! And your welcome! That’s what I love about the PALS..everyone plays nicely and shares. 🙂
Thanks for sharing all the details of how to make this box!
I love to make boxes and bags in addition to cards and this one intrigued me! Glad I was able to find the measurements and figure it out. 🙂
You are SO dedicated to not only get the template but go the extra mile to CASE and embellish the design. What a great job! Thank you for so much inspiration!!
Linda, you are always so good at lifting my spirits! I always seem to have to try a couple of different versions. Good thing I have lots of uses for them. They are as much fun to give away as they are to make!
Thank you so much for the box template! It is really hard to decide which one I like best as they both are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!!!
It’s like a bag of chips…you can’t eat/ make just one!!! LOL
Great tutorial, Jeanie! I might give this one a try….thanks for doing all the work for the instructions!
Thanks Karen! I sometimes worry that I get too wordy! I am such a visual person so I like to add lots of photos to help others. No use trying to reinvent the wheel. Anything to save time for next time!
Wordy is good as well as lots of photos! Amazing job on both boxes. They are so fun and unique. I might have to try to make this sometime but I think I want to make the little boxes you made earlier in the week or last week first. I figured out you can buy the framelits without the stamp set making it more cost effective for me. I just wore myself out making valentines too. I do like these embossing folders. Fun and great job as always!!!!
Thanks Chris! I sometimes do the same thing and just buy the stamp set or dies if I can get away with it. This new catty has me going crazy because I love so much and want it all!!!! I think you get the best bang for your buck with embossing folders! Can’t go wrong there!
Super projects Jeanie! My fave is the striped box with trim. So cute!
So we had the CASE in mind, but you blew me away! I couldn’t figure out how to make that box. You totally nailed it. These instructions are going right in the old notebook. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great determination, lovely result!
Could This be done with one continuous piece, scored five times with just one flap?
Thank you so much to you, Ben, and the demonstrator who designed this box. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! It looks easy. I’ll try later today. There’s so many uses for it. I’m only limited by my imagination.
I would love to see what you make!! You are so right..no limits! Let your imagination go wild! 🙂
