Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing the Up and Away Thinlits Dies and Lift Me Up Stamp Set. I couldn’t stop playing with this bundle! Here’s 4 cards I made.
My colors came from the Carried Away Designer Series Paper (Free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration): Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, Smokey Slate, and Whisper White.
The DSP coordinates with the Lift Me Up Bundle. The DSP panels on all 4 cards measure the same, 3 1/4 x 3 1/4, with a layer of cardstock just a smidge (1/8″) more. There’s so many different sentiments in this set which work for birthdays, congratulations, thank you, thinking of you, and love. Here’s a look at the Lift Me Up Bundle.

I tried something different on each of my cards using the stamp set and dies.
These two cards have stamped balloons which I then cut out with the framelits. The one on the left I stamped twice, once on mint macaron and once on white. I cut the top part of the mint macaron balloon and adhered it to the whisper white then popped it up on dimensionals. I was trying to get the look of the balloons in the DSP. The one on the left was easy to match the DSP by just stamping in different inks and running it through the Big Shot to cut it out.
These 2 cards use the Thinlits Die with the Precision Base Plate. I love this die!!! It’s easy to get different colors perfectly sized to fit with the dies in the set. I used some DSP for the card on the left and cardstock for the card on the right. I turned the dies over and pieced them together like a puzzle and held them together with Tear & Tape. Then I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the hot air balloon. I added some rhinestone jewels to one and adhered the balloons with dimensionals to lift them up.

Hi Jeanie! What gorgeous cards! These framelits and paper are on their way to me. Can’t wait to case your cards. My daughter and I went on a hot air balloon ride when we visited Utah in the fall. You are right… Susan is a stampin guru and I love the title, “Doctor of Stampology”! 🙂 I have been thinking about booking a hot air balloon ride for our family in honor of my son’s milestone birthday this year. I researched and found one near DC which would probably be very picturesque! I’m happy to hear it was a great experience and “calm and gentle”. I hate to fly planes so was worried I may not enjoy the experience.

This set did not make the cut on my first 2 orders but I am so glad now that I bought it! I think I will be using it a lot! Great variety of sentiments and I could have kept making cards last night…if only I didn’t need sleep!!!

There are so many colorful possibilities with that hot air balloon…I think I am going to be playing with this set a lot! Different verses too that I didn’t have. It’s all fun!!
So cute ! I love the polka dots peeking through the black balloon ! I plan to get these dies and I now have an idea as to what size they are in comparison to the base card .Thank you ! I think these dies are okay as far as our Versatility requirements ! Tee Hee !!!
Lots of versatility in the sentiments too Sonny! This set is a Win! Win! I didn’t even use all the sentiments and that was my goal. I need more time in the day! If I can get polka dots on a card, I go for it! I don’t know what it is about them but they always make me smile!
Oh Jeanie, I feel like just like one of these balloons – full of hot air but then deflated and back to earth! Actually I am a little hot – I tried cleaning the kitchen floor which is a terrible mess between the dog, husband, winter salt and sand, as well as little pieces from the Big Shot etc. You get the picture – I am not big into cleaning. Hence, I have time to come up with some fun comments – didn’t want to burst your balloon – I am a mess just like my house. I get so happy when I see your projects – you must try for the Artisan thingy if you haven’t! I feel my stuff is just so-so and I am the ultimate of CASEing as a start off point. I would love to take advantage and get this bundle so you could send me the kit to make these cards. But, down to earth time, there are a few other things I want more in the way of stamping. Then we have this old house that needs a new roof, new windows, and definitely an electrical update so there goes the budget not that I really could stay on a budget! So, I will just have to drool – just like my basset hound and enjoy your projects! As far as a favorite one, well I am partial to green and I just love the envelope with the clouds so I would say that is my favorite card but boy, the rest blow in with the wind just as fast!
Susan may be getting, well no she has it, Doctor of Stampology – but I am working on my Ph.D. – both “piled high and deep” and “partly half done” projects with both needlework and stamping! Hope all this silliness makes up for lack of past comments!
Oh Chris…you are just the funniest and I love that you took the time to entertain with your wonderful play on words! I may have to consult with you when I get stuck on an alphabet letter in my series. I bet you would rock the alphabet!!! I love your take on Ph.D!! I can relate!!! I would rather create than clean off my desk. 🙂
