Z is for Zigzag DSP

Welcome to my ABC’s with DSP series. Today I am featuring the zigzag design from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper Stack.

I am heading to Atlanta this afternoon to see my daughter, attend World Card Making Day with fellow demonstrators, and go to Stampin’ Up!’s  On Stage Convention!  I am so excited!!!  I have been a busy beaver making cards to swap, a 3D project to share, as well as a shoebox swap!  I will be sharing my projects as well as all the ones I make and receive at these events.  Lots of inspiration ahead!

Today’s card is for my daughter’s birthday.  I am thrilled to be able to deliver it in person to her when I get to Atlanta. We are going out to dinner to one of her favorite places, The Cheesecake Factory!  YUM!!  I made her a double Z fold card (for the last letter in this alphabet series). I CASEd the Z fold design from Susy Wood.

You can see the two Z’s when you look down on the card.

This card is not as hard as it looks to make.  It is actually rather easy!  I started with a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  I scored it at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.  I cut another strip of Flirty Flamingo at 1 1/2 x 11″ and scored it the same as the card base.  (You just flip it so that it folds the opposite of the card base.) I attached a piece of 4 x 2 1/2″ DSP to the front.  I stamped the Happy Birthday in Black Momento Ink on a piece of Whisper White that measures 3 x 2 3/4″ and adhered it to a layer of Flirty Flamingo 1/4″ larger (3 1/4 x 3).  This is adhered to a layer of Basic Black that measures 3 1/2 x 3 1/4. Next I stamped the flowers from the Grateful Bunch stamp set using Black Momento ink and punched the flowers using the Blossom Punch.  I added Rhinestones for some bling, attached the flowers with Glue Dots, and tied a piece of Organza ribbon in a knot. Here’a another view with the card open.
